OMG! What a fish. I to grew up in Hawaii and when I was a Keiki you could see schools of uhu, big ones. From Makapuu to China man's hat. Kaneohi bay was plentiful. Then everyone got nets, tanks, spearguns. Oh, and everyone said that they were Hawaiian, haha, ya right, maybe a percent%? No conservation or Kapu. In the Caribbean uhu are protected and the reefs are beautiful, I dive in the GOM, the fish I spear are in the 20 to 100+# range, CONSERVATION! No worry just blame da Haole's.

@@Reelcool74 Brada, their are hundreds of 100 pound fish in schools because of conservation in the GOM. Taking one doesn't hurt. You might only get 1 day in 6 months to get that type fish.

I’m from Hawaii and it’s one of the most prized catches out there. I spearfish in Hawaii too and I can tell you bro that almost every Hawaii spear fisherman has shot lots of them, and even more fish. It’s part of our culture and who we are in Hawaii. Sorry that it’s upsetting but understand that it’s just the same as a hunter shooting a deer; we do it for food and fun, not because we’re monsters lol. We’re all just tryna live life.
