I've resisted posting on any of these videos - but this is my car. Here we go: I bought it used with a Salvage Title in 2007ish, the PO had done typical ricer-y things to the car before apparently curbing it, at speed, on the right side with 20k miles. Airbags were deployed, there was body damage and deformation on the right side, and some suspension damage. I bought it from a shady repair-shop guy and didn't spend enough time looking it over because I was under duress at the time to get a car NOW (commuting 2hr/day and 12hr shifts) and I had way more money than time. The passenger door is in bad shape and I've had a lot of work done to get the car to a "normal" state, but it's always going to have scars. Indiana winters are also very harsh, and since this is my daily driver and only car, I have never gotten some of the cosmetic stuff fixed because I can't have my car off in a repair shop for multiple weeks. Being realistic, it's an inexpensive 4cyl Honda with a bad history. I'd scarcely be able to recoup any of the costs in resale. However, it's a fun and practical car for me, it's 10+ years old with under 90k miles

YAY! finally, my car. Pro's: the steering, clutch, that stick, handling. Con's: that engine. It's as close to a type R you can get... and it couldn't anymore farther from an actual type R. Still love it!

RegularCars, if you like the seat of the Si, why not see if it'd go in your Fit? Heck, if it's anything like the Echo, you could just put the bottom pad on the Fit frame, and swap the seat-back. That's pretty much what I did to make the Scion xA seat go forward for rear-seat entry for my Echo Coupe. Looks better, feels better, and only looses the convenience of rear-seat pockets.
In Canada, the EP3 (Civic Si hatch) is called the SiR. Makes it a ton easier to search on craigslist but they hold their value. Minimum is 4 grand if you want one of these. btw Mr. Regular, can you heel toe downshift - Initial D style?
+Brogan Hogan I've driven a Civic EF DX hatch and this Si, the EF was one generation before the EG so I think I can speak for it. I can say the Si is much better. Very good steering and suspension. The Si has electric steering so it's very direct and has no slop in it.
This car actually doesn't look half bad, at the very least it looks preferable to a Corolla XRS, Scion tC, or an Acura Integra, I guess the only reason these cars get so much crap is because of their fanbase.
The only FWD cars I'd buy are hatches. Don't know why, but there's just something so cool about a hatchback, even if it's FWD. Really wish they brought the Civic Type R hatch to the states. They fucked us over with the K20a3 motor for the 7th gen Civic Si

This is not true. The EP3 engine Ivtec kicks in at 2500 rpm. It is an economy VTEC. Want great gas mileage? Accelerate slow and stay under 2500 rpm. This is one of the only civic SIs with low enough compression to run 87 on instead of premium fuel. And it has lots of torque compared to the k20a2 or z3 because it has 140+ftlb at 4000 rpm vice 7000 for the k20a2. Not a lot of power (over 40HP less than z3 or a26), but makes sense for a 9:1 compression ratio running on regular 87 gas.
+brandon maxwell He emphasized how it was literally the perfect place for a manual shifter in the full review. Apparently this is the only time Honda's done that.
Here in europe we have the type r, and to be honest its 100 times better then the Si. mostly cause it has factory 217 hp, and it looks better. I modified it just a bit, mostly suspension, some engine things, and thats it. Everything else is stock, and it runs great its one of the best hatches out there, and as a daily its awesome.
I’m planning on getting one of these in the States and doing a full Type R conversion. Gonna get a K20A engine from Japan and a 6 speed instead of the shitty 5 speed North America got. Then just a bit of suspension tuning and I basically have a Type R with a sunroof lol.
Hey I've driven both an EP Si and a 2019 Fit, they feel very, very similar. The EP revs WAY harder and higher but when you're attacking corners and not really paying attention to the fine nuances of VTEC they feel almost identical.
@@gottagofastest42 both have a very short wheel base which gives it that darty go kart cornering, in that sense that feel identical, but i would say the difference is that the fit has slightly better steering but a bit more body roll on the corners, and visa versa for the ep3

Sort of, except we don't get same suspension tuning and we get a detuned motor that only makes 160 something horsepower. A bit of a letdown.
