Remember your comment has to have #dozen in it for it to count in the drawing. I'll announce the winner in a future video. Best of luck! Also, here is a link to the stone flies : www.mainely-outdoors.com/product-page/buggy-vinyl-stone-fly
#dozen Thanks Jesse! I enjoy your videos a lot, and really appreciate that you don't spot burn fishing areas. I fish some of the same places you have been in other videos. Love the catch and cooks! Good luck out there 🐟
I thought about entering the drawing but I snapped my fly rod when I packed it up in the dark and some how managed to let the leader and fly hang out the door for the ride lol... so I'll give the people more readily able to use them a slightly better chance lol...hopefully there be another chance some time...great video..enjoyed as always.
There will definitely be another! and everyone from all experience levels are welcome to join. Even those who dont fly fish I'll tie them a peace that is made to go into picture frame. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Found your channel and have watched all your videos. Being a Mainer thats guiding in the southeast for trout.on the fly, your content reminds me of my journeys in Maine. Would love to recieve flies to try here in GA and NC waters, #dozen brother.
Nice Jesse good for you 👍 🎏 From may 19th to 24 th I was in the Eustis area on a pond fishing the Hendricks hatch did ok on this trip. The Largest Brookie was Just under 16"" I have two boats there a 12' and a 14". I will be back in that area A little before June 20th for a Great Caddis hatch for for few days. Good Luck too all on the water 👍 🎏 Jesse thanks for sharing 👍 The Vermonter BS
Hi Jesse, Dan from VT here. I caught a small salmon on your black stonefly nymph today and a nice brown on a Golden Retriever that you tied for me. #dozen
Real nice video, informative & educational. I'm an older guy and just started getting into fly fishing. I fished the Mag's a few weeks ago, no trout that time for me, but it was all good. I'm picking up some tips watching how you fish, I'm sure it'll help me when I go out next time. Your flies look awesome, hoping to maybe win #dozen. Thanks for the opportunity.
Great shot of the take. It must be hard to get those when you fish solo & don’t have a videographer to do the recording. Suggestion for future videos, especially for newer fly fishers: you might want to give some details on using an indicator & multiple flies, depth of water, length from indicator to fly/flies. & why, how you rig two or more flies with barbless hooks, etc. I can no longer fish due to back issues but still love to tie, so I contacted my local branch of Project Healing Waters last fall. All of my flies go to them, & if I’m lucky enough to win the drawing, that’s where your flies will go. I do confess that I would like to see your flies, especially that chartreuse stonefly. To paraphrase Lefty Kreh referring to saltwater flies - “without chartreuse, it ain’t no use.” #dozen
I'm absolutely learning from your channel! I've been fly fishing for brook trout ever since I was little. Did some searching for saltwater fishing in Maine since I live near the coast now and your videos came up. Amusingly enough searching for saltwater content brought me right back to flyfishing in streams! My goto fly is a green grasshopper and I know I use it way too much by default. Can't help it when it works! That being said, I'll be taking my chances on the #dozen. Thanks for the content Jesse! Keep it up!
Great video! Was really looking forward to another vid. Just got out for the first time this year for memorial day weekend and had a lot of success in western maine. keep up the great work! #dozen
Awesome video as always! Lots of great catches too!!! We do a lot of fishing, and I keep telling my sons that we should bring the fly rods and give them a try( we never ever tried fly fishing but have a few fly rods) That's it, after watching this video I put a fly rod in the back of my truck so next time we'll have it to try! #dozen
Glad you enjoy it! The way I look at it is handle the fish first film second. If the camera is not rolling and set up then I just use the gopro footage that doesn’t require me to do anything. Helps when I have a net but losing it or breaking it seems to be a reoccurring issue this year 😂 ! As much as I like filming I'm not looking to increase death rates of the fish due to over handling. Can't say that about all my videos (In the beginning I didn't even know what proper handing was.. Coming form a culture of catch and keep) but it is something that I now prioritize
Could you please tell me what city the Magalloway river is in?? I think that's the name maybe spelled differently. A friend of mine went there last weekend but he wasn't paying attention. Thank you and great videos!!
# dozen. Hello from NC. That was one beautiful stream you were fishing. I’m not going to ask the name of the stream but what area of Maine were you fishing? I’ve been in your state a few times and would love to come back up and give those land locked salmon a try on a fly rod. Obviously, we don’t have those fish in the ole north state. Keep posting these great videos.
#dozen,Another awesome fishing vid in the pristine waters of Maine ,makes me want to come back for another trip ,being in the city & all, just looks so chill & peaceful ,love the camera work though it does get little getting use too the 2 shot perspective, may GOD bless with good fishing & many more MainelyOutDoors fishing videos, I wish I was there.
I have been fly fishing since 2002 when I switched over from spincasting. I could never get those nymphs to work for me. I exclusively use sinking line and olive woollys size 10-12 and I always catch. Shrug.
Greetings from up here in New Brunswick! I Absolutely love your positive attitude towards the outdoors, Every video feels like you are taking the viewers out on a fishing trip; And I enjoy all of your videos! Please keep em coming for years to come! #dozen
I hiked a few hundred miles through Maine in 2019 and caught several #dozen brookies on my tenkara. Would love to get some of those beautiful salmon one day
The fishing has been great this year in Maine. I made a little video of our trip to Baxter this year on my page. Lots of rainbows down home this year too near my house. Thanks for the great videos man. #dozen
Again awesome,called a confidence fly,most all fly people/tiers have them,patterns that just work,for me it's 2 nymphs I never go fishing without,# 14 Purple Prince Nymph & a # 14 FB Pheasant Tail in black or olive,tight lines & bent rods 🤟
I love trying new patterns but always have a few confidence flies in there for when im not sure if the fish are even there. I've never used the purple prince much but the PT is al sorts of colors are definitely another go to!
It's amazing how far your videos have come in the few years you have been posting. I think the first one I saw was when you were fly fishing a beaver dam in Baxter for Brook Trout, been subscribed ever since. Hoping for some Turkey hunting content soon! #dozen

Fantastic work!! Nothing like seeing an indicator disappear!!
especially when you start expecting it to go down every cast 😂

I’d be happy to tie some of those as well
Just found your channel and I love it! One of my favorite things in Maine is wading small brook trout streams and catching fish

Hi Jesse, Dan from VT here. I caught a small salmon on your black stonefly nymph today and a nice brown on a Golden Retriever that you tied for me. #dozen
Another great video, I was into a pond this past weekend and the trout were only taking a caddis fly, and rising like crazy. #dozen.

#dozen, awesome fishin dude, been fly fishing for 4 years now and have been tying all my flies since the beginning. Those flies look sweet
Love how you handle the fish. ty for that! Great videos.

Best flies i’ve ever used! great fishing. tight lines # dozen
Nice day on the stream with the LL’s. Is that a New Zealand indicator giving you that soft landing? #dozen
It definitely was! That is a bioindicator it still has quite a impact compared to yarn but the LLS really don't care 😂 lest spooky salmonid I know
How do I get one of them short truce stoneflies I don't see a search button on your website

Would you use an indicator for a royal coachmen wet fly? #dozen
I typically swing wet flies with my spey rod. However, if you are trying to achieve a specific presentation it would work drifted under an indicator as well. Its not what its made for but try it out for the fun of it!
# Dozen love the fishing videos Me and my 7 year old granddaughter loved fish we are out fishing every weekend
