Thanks for showing the laundry room, heading out on a TA on Sky soon and will need that for sure. You inspire me to get up early, what time do you go to bed?
Watching you this morning! We were so surprised at the shout out! Thanks! The shows looked great, we would love to see anyone from Penn & Teller on a ship. Now, we need to go get our 10,000 steps too!
I absolutely LOVE sea days!!! I actually book cruises for their longer sea days. I moved from Florida to Panamá so I have sunset, and beaches every day. Although I do love those horizon sunrises and sunsets!!🥰🥰😍😍
Sea days are some of my favorite days on ship!! A chance to relax and just enjoy life. And, you are right about not having to gain weight on a cruise. I do laps and also always do the stairs. Elevators too clogged and possible illness exposure in small space.
I so agree with you that getting up early to see the sunrise is one of the best things about cruising. This is the best time for some wonderful photos. I saw a video that showed the Ruby touching the dock during departure. Did you see it?
1:13 yes my husband n i agree the sunrises are worth getting up for and....u just might meet interesting people like YOU that like early mornings ...😊 and the ship dr, captian and so on 😊😊
Thanks for this video, Kevin -- next best thing to actually being on a cruise, what a nice vicarious thrill! 😀 I think one of the best things about being on a cruise ship is not having to worry about where to get your next meal (or how much it's going to cost) and never running out of things to do!
I have more than a few decades starting my days at 5:30 am. Now that I'm retired 8:00-9:00 is normal. Although when I'm solo on a cruise I set my alarm for 7 am and try to be head's down by midnight. (Star Wars)
"I hate putting on pants." 👍 Ditto! It's good that there are other options so one does not have to partake in formal night if they don't want to. Good, quick summery here. I can't imagine how anyone could ever be bored. Enjoy!
Great video, Kevin. We cruised on the Ruby for 30 consecutive days back in 2022. ( B2B Hawaii and Full Transit Panama Canal / San Francisco to FLL. ) My wife's morning routine is similar to yours on Sea Days, she's a fitness buff at 75, wakes up at 5:30 AM on cruises to exercise and start the day. I, on the other hand, go to the International Cafe to start my day with a nice Cappuccino. Then we meet at the Horizon Court for breakfast and check the rest of the activities onboard. Really enjoy your videos, Amigo !
Always enjoy a sea day as it is my time to finally sit back and relax and check out all those quiet corners of a ship not normally visited by many. And those sunrises are hard to beat! Always something interesting and fun going on!!
Ver nice, informative, and a lot we have dine as well on sea days. Agree wholeheartedly that we can all eat a bit more healthy if you're just a bit more proactive about it. I as well am up early getting in some steps, and then head for my specialty coffee at the International Cafe for my tripple non fat late in the 🌅 morning! Then if laundry is due, even though were elite status, I choose to do it myself, again early during my International Cafe routine. Then head up to get my husband up and we head for breakfast and then head out to the promenade for a 🌅 morning walk. More steps! Then a lot of what you went through in your video. We head to the Caribbean on the 9th from Ft Lauderdale
I found your channel when I had Covid last year. Watching your videos helped me so much. Thanks to you, I started cruising a few months later. Loved walking around the ship early in the morning.
These Princess atriums are just absolutely gorgeous - like no other ships out there! Loving seeing your content back on here mate - this cruise sounds fantastic for 103 days!
I definitely miss those sunsets at sea! I'm usually not up early enough to catch the sunrise. I like sea days because I'm not on an excursion schedule, I can read an ebook, do afternoon tea, and enjoy the ship.
Like any time anywhere, a sea day is what you make of it. The pools, lido, and amenities are usually busy. So it can be a good time to recharge for the next port, read, or chill with friends you have made on the cruise.
Awesome video! Those clouds in the morning looked like you could just reach out and touch them! I loved how Princess shows great movies all day. Ferris Buehler is my favorite 80s movie of all time!
I think it depends on the ship. On Sky Princess, I loved sea days, lots of things to do. On MSC Meraviglia, I hated sea days, food was terrible and activities were not interesting.
@@30AndAWakeUpUnfortunatelly when we got to Ocean Cay I was sick like a dog. There was a bug on the ship and I stayed in bed all day. I was really looking forward to ocean cay but fate decided otherwise ;(
I really enjoyed the cruise ship that you're on, right now! A lot of care goes into what Princess Cruises does- the shows, Movies under the Stars, the enrichment programs, the workout programs, and even the laundromat, just to name a few! Sounds like so much fun! Take care, and continue to enjoy!! 🤗🏃♂🛳🌺🌅
Looks like there is so much to do Kevin on board the ship. Looks like you need to have a good exercise regime also with all that good food. Enjoy your trip. Jonathan 🇬🇧
Had no idea some ships have self-serve laundry facilities. I've always sent out my laundry, but it can get pricey. And shhhh....don't tell everyone how peaceful & amazing early mornings are on cruise ships! 😉
I think only Princess and Holland America do….and maybe a few ships with Carnival. If you are Elite on Princess (which isn’t hard to get) you can send laundry out for free by the way!
I love the Ruby and the Emerald. The Outrigger is were I spent a lot of time hanging out or dining. Voice of the Ocean is a blast. My buddy made the finals on the Ruby and won in December on the Emerald. Your excellent videos take me right back there.
You were just as busy, maybe even more, then on a port day. I'm looking forward to my 15 day Alaskan cruise in May with Princess and the sea days certainly will have extra time in the gym. All those food choices....

Retired and it would take a lot more than the promise to be in hot tub solo to get me up that early. I love the Princess ships because of the laundry facilities and make packing so much easier. Their educational classes are top notch and on my Alaska b2b cruise Libby Riddles (1st woman to win Iditarod Race) and presented an excellent performance and got a signed book & picture with her. I love to find a quiet corner and enjoy a good book on a sea day. Excellent video & exhausting, going to take a nap

Only been on 2 cruises -- 1st Carribean out of NY (Norweigan), and 2nd Alaskan from my local Vancouver (HAL) and really enjoyed my sea days for what they're worth. Absolutely true -- you can *both* eat healthy, and also indulge at your pleasure pretty much 24/7 -- the ultimate in being pampered in my books. Just forget about the elevators and always take the stairs, especially going up -- but if that's all you do you'll almost certainly put on "a few" pounds, Lol. Loved the Theatre under the stars -- would love to have that option. Entertainment on my Norweigan cruise was top -flight (2017), but lately I've heard many people complain about it (and other issues thankfully I didn't experience). How can you miss with Ferris Bueller on the outdoor screen and Star Wars trivia! Almost at the point where I can live (*frugally in Canada*) from my investments, while also still saving a portion to use exclusively to continually grow my portfolio with the income it generates. That's *financially free* !!! Best tip to get there fast (or at all), is to adopt a very conservative money management style in life. Ie never spend more than 1/3 of what you "have available", keep 1/3 "on ice" for unexpected expenses, etc. and devote 1/3 to putting to work *making more money* for you!!! Cheers!...from North Vancouver
Oh, Also. from that other video last week about Solo Cruising. I joined that Facebook group Solo Cruising. But some people there directed me to a better group for me called Cruising for Solos and ShipMates. They host cruises and have a Cabin Mate matching board. I am planning on using it for a cruise they have on the Celebration during Halloween. Not my first choice of lines but maybe I will find someone. That other group doesn't allow matching.
Looks like fun! Thanks for taking us along! I would have loved to see you eating at the buffet. Why do people like to watch others eat and describe how things taste? It does make for awkward filming in public. You did drink the thimble of green juice, though.

Continue to love your videos. Glad you are back making some videos. We love Ruby Princess, been on the old girl 3 times. Question, what type of gimbal do you use for your iPhone when you make your videos? Thanks in advance.
i just use my iphone 15 and shoot in 60 frames and edit it in 30 frames so i can make it more stable. but to be honest the newer iphones shot pretty stable
Come aboard, we’re expecting you. 🎶🚢 Those were easy 80s questions (Die Hard, Ferris Bueller - me gusta mucho tambien) Actually had a poorly executed (on my part) en español with the barista this morning at the little coffee place around the corner (Condesa, CDMX) that 80s music is the best (he was playing New Order). The cruise lectures are so informative. Thanks for showing us around.
I'm a 10,000 a day step girl BUT not at 5:30am!. Starting with 10,000 steps you will end probably at 15,000. When we cruised a 28 day around Australia in 2018 I was concerned about all the "sea days!" Well....WE FELL IN LOVE WITH SEA DAYS!!!!! We mostly go on 14 night cruises so there are quite a few sea days unless it is the Med---then it is "vacation boot camp!" I meant love the Grand Class on Princess.
@30AndAWakeUp makes sense and do-able. Thanks for the inspiration. I checked my pedometer and I think 10k is about 5 miles and slightly less than 2 hours for me. And that is just walking without focusing on distance or speed. So up at 5:30, walk, breakfast at 7:30. Nice!

We mostly go on 14 night cruises so there are quite a few sea days unless it is the Med---then it is "vacation boot camp!" I meant love the Grand Class on Princess.
if i don’t get up and do them, they won’t get done 🤣 i need to try that class. i haven’t yet
Opps I meant Grand Class which is the Ruby!@@30AndAWakeUp
How long does it take you to do the 10k steps all at once? How many laps around the Promenade?
Not sure how many laps but i get between 4 to 6k an hour. So usually around 2 hours
Nice!
Question, do you ever get sensory overload from all of the lights and such ?
not really
Are you able to see the stars on a cruise or are there too many lights on the ship?
Usually too many lights on the ship, unfortunately!

Im confused they closed one deck but let you go out on top of ship?

A 100 day cruise might just cure my sea sickness. 🤢 and drop pounds.🤮

That's as good as a port stop!
I enjoy your vids a lot, because I don't get on so well with boat travel 🤢😂
I actually like sea days more than the ports!
What a beautiful way to start the day!
The best!
