Dude that looks sweet! Thanks for the how to, I’ve been thinking about doing this. I have an 07 classic LS and I’ve already done the ss bumper swap and have an Amerihood Type-E functional ram air hood coning in the mail. I might just do the roll pan too...
@@Adam2Fiddy Trailer always needs a tag. Technically you are supposed to always have a visible tag on your truck also. I just put it in the truck when towing. Never had a problem. But if I got pulled over I would have the tag for the truck inside the truck so no big deal.
buy a little LED tag light for a motorcycle, drill some holes and mount it above the plate in the recess. Then run the wires through a small hole and connect to your OEM harness. I used LED license plate light bolts and connected to the OEM harness.
Great video, the step by step detail is the best I've seen form start to finish. I have the same exhaust tips. When you cut them off, did it change the exhust sound much? Maybe quieter?
I plan to when I paint it. But using bondo is not the correct method. I'm going to completely weld the gaps and grind smooth. Then after primer filler if there is any imperfections I will use glazing putty.
Looks good all but the body lines at the bottom look tight. I plan on doing this to my 05 1500. Im going to 4/6 drop it. Im wondering how well it will tow being low like that with a hidden hitch? Also any problems with receivers not sticking far enough out when towing causing jack knifes on sharper turns? I dont tow at all really but hard to tell if i will in the future...
This truck is now on a McGauphy's 4/6 drop. No issues towing. Get the notch installed so you dont bottom out on the frame rails. You MUST know your limits when turning to avoid jack knifing. It will not turn tight enough going forward to jack knife. However backing up is another story. Body lines are tight at the bottom. I pulled them in. I will be welding in so I wanted them tight.
If you don't mind me asking how much did the hitch set you back? I built one for mine but I was just wondering. Good idea on bolting it to the side of the quarters. Looks nice and clean
Sorry I missed this. The hitch was a Curt class III hitch 13932 for a roll pan. Purchased off ebay. Roll pan also purchased off Ebay. 18 gauge steel roll pan with license plate box and tag light cut out.
Thank you.I'm a ebay seller. But i don't have a silverado. This video is helpful to me and my customers.
I'm starting to be an Ebay seller too haha
Looks amazing! Was planning to do same to my 06 Yukon Denali, but wasn’t sure how it would look. Thanks to you brother I am convinced on doing it
Thank you dude, one of the best and simplest videos for this. Wanted to do this to my K1500
You are welcome!
My eyes keep telling me those are not stainless, can you verify. But I love your video and it earned a like from me....
They are. Thanks for the like!
They are made of stainless. You can find this roll pan in my ebay shop.
@@mrzhaooo6440 If you would like to share the link to my video for installation purposes or link it to your Ebay I give you permission. Thanks!

Maybe this is a dumb question but what about when you need to tow something? Does the license plate flip up?
@@bowtiebuilding
Just remove the screws for the tag and pull off the tag. Hitch is then exposed for towing.
@@diydozier3205 where can get that hatch
I’m curious how u pull something u take the tag off or something to pull it idk I want to do this but I want to pull a trailer
Fold down tag bracket or I just remove the tag when towing.
@@diydozier3205 oh u aloud to do that cause trailer has tag right

What about the license plate lights
LED
Great vid, ima get my roll pan and hitch from lmc. They sell a bracket fir the LP to flip up
I can't figure out how to hook the license plate light up or should I just have it professionally done?
buy a little LED tag light for a motorcycle, drill some holes and mount it above the plate in the recess. Then run the wires through a small hole and connect to your OEM harness. I used LED license plate light bolts and connected to the OEM harness.
What drill bit did you use
The holes are drilled to the size of whatever screws you buy.
How much was the roll pan
Yes?
100 bucks if I recall correctly. Bought on Ebay.

Got a little louder but deeper. Sounds good.
@@diydozier3205 any recommendations on stepside roll pan? I hear they are different
Is there a front bumper equivalent to a roll pan?
LOL..I wish. There is an SS Front bumper tho.
Where did you purchase your roll pan
Ebay
You can also bondo the side gaps to make it look like a whole piece ✌️

DIY Dozier have you done that yet? How much did it cost in total
Do you have the link for that hitch?

How did you manage to get the side screws into the fender? I don’t have enough room to get there with my drill
probably a 90 degree drill or an air ratchet.
I drilled a tiny pilot hole in it first. Then used a self tapping screw.
How about having the tag light? Do you still run jt
Yes.

Part number of that hitch? Or link to it on their website?
Sorry for the late response. Posted above.
Did you put anything around the wholes on the body side to prevent any rust issues
Before it gets painted it will be sealed. Still in the condition from the video.

I have one question how do you get the spare tire out
The video highlights this process.what further do you need help with?
How did you install the new light that came with the roll pan?
It screws in with 2 screws.
Great vid
Thanks good job
What tailgate cap did you order, it looks really nice
