The use of non MFI certified cables is the result of Tristar failure. A lot of shops sell cheap cables nowadays. I have the Tristar tester bought is from Germany, and it is a cracking tool.
Great video with good explanations for each device, Pro's and Con's. I understand that each will only check the dock flex and 6 lines to the Tristar/Hydra IC (with the ICC Pro testing VCC_MAIN). If it passes those checks and you still have a problem with the device, would the next step be to open the device and check the remaining lines on the TriStar/Hydra IC first before moving on to checking for shorts etc... ? Thank you.
.....beside the bad build quality (battery, housing, etc) and lack of proper packaging I'll admit that I do like the product and it does perform the tasks well.
Can you cover solder tips? What do you use? How fine of a tip do I need for what I'm doing and such. How do I know mine went bad and need to be replaced.
Had similar issues with the ICC Pro except the bootlooping. 3D Printed housing is abysmal for a 2019 product that has many establish competitors doing better in that regard (packaging an' all was utter garbage). Top it off with the fact I just bought the 🔥-in' thing like two month ago and now there's a V2 (with possibly improved internals) and new aluminium body - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!
Hey bro. We worked hard for the improvements on V2 and we got a GREAT product. Eben the 3D printed housing was really a lot of work. But now we have an outstanding product. We even give special discount or the V1 users. You can change your device into a V2 for only 69 Euro excl. shipping. Other thing would be to upgrade to the latest software version (charging issue solved) and upgrade the housing to V2 housing. It's only 19,90 or the housing and the update is free. So you got a V1 board in V2 housing, no charging issues and all is fine. We always want to see HAPPY customers. So contact us for a solution instead of being bad with us. Yours, Ben.

Glad I found this channel because this is right up my street.

I still think icc pro v2 is the best because it tests vcc main
You think your jc could just be defective?
It could be, but I’ve heard similar things from other people
In my opinion, no, they aren't worth it. I get so many false positives that the tool is basically as useful as just taking a guess without it.
