  • So I was on FB Live last week and chatting to some awesome folks who made it and steampunk came up and I said I'd do the other Super Soaker as steampunk and here it is!
    Special thanks to Andrew & John who seemed pretty excited by this idea, thus me going with it.
    Star Wars Han Solo Super Soaker Nerf Mod... Steampunk!

    If I was making this myself I think all I would change would be drilling out the holes in the end of the barrel and changing the angling of the magazine, just personal reasons though. This is a very amazing piece. The gauge on the side stands out a lot better with the 'glass' that you put over it, the numbers that you put around the dial directly above the handle, the single bullet being red all make this a very gorgeous piece that is very unique and stands out. I really liked that you made sure every piece you put on had some purpose other than aesthetics. The 'leather' strap holding the top piece down on the gun itself was a very nice touch. As far as I can think I havent really seen people adding leather bits like that onto their steampunk weapons unless its wrapping up a handle or something similar. Keep up the good work, I look forward to your next upload.

      I just didn't have the time to drill it all out, definitely worth doing if you have the time for sure. The angle of the magazine makes more sense straight, I just liked it better a little angled :)
      I definitely try and think about usage and use of the bits. One of my pet hates is steampunk blasters with gears just glued onto the side, serving zero purpose at all. I think I used the 'leather' idea on a steampunk blaster a few years ago as well, it's a cut touch and still makes sense for the genre.
      Thanks so much for such a well thought out comment Cody! Cheers.

    You are SUCH an inspiration to me!!! I am only a nob, but I have already made five simple steampunk guns. I am having fun searching through thrift stores and the like looking out for cool bits to use to make more and better guns. Lucky me, my husband is a graphic artist and can make me gage decals and other stuff. Thanks for sharing all your work!

      A few people have told me my videos are relaxing, I hope that doesn't translate to boring hahaha. "for an Aussie" ... are we usually terrible? :)

    • @NaysWays
      @NaysWays 7 років тому +1

      No in my case the "relaxing" means you are NOT at all patronising or overwhelming people with info in a short space of time, you are very casual in your manner and have no air of "know all" so you make learning new ways of doing things way less scary :) As for the Aussie pun - It was a automatic jibe from a Kiwi fan...

    Hi. Awesome work! Where did you get that vacuum value type thing you stuck at the top? I don't even know what it's called otherwise would have done a search for it myself. Thanks

      The vintage valve I was sent from a friend who worked in electronics and found them in a storeroom. You can get them from time to time online (ebay) and also junk stores. They're called radio valves. Hope that helps.

      Nerfenstein aka GirlyGamer we must have very similar DNA...I bought a load of junk valves months ago intending to use them in a very similar fashion on some old nerfs, steam punk style. Maybe even light them with LEDs.

    A lot of my commissions are steampunk and/or elegant antiques and I find tons of Greeblies in sewing departments. Not a very obvious section to check in.

      Yeah they are a good spot indeed, also junk stores and electrical stores. Drop your FB page name in the comments here and I'll give you a shout out on my page.
