In the May 2023 release of Photoshop, Adobe has introduced a new feature called the Contextual Task Bar, which is a persistent menu that presents the most relevant next steps in your workflow.
In this 2-minute video, we will learn how to use the Contextual Task Bar to find the right tool at the right time in various scenarios.

Great tutorial, thank you very much.
thank you.. very helpful 😂
I stumbled on this video. I was prepared to have little opinion on it but then I noticed your quick, irreverent humor points and I said "Okay, this guy is alright! LOL!" Did I mention this clip actually added to some of the things I didn't know about the new contextual task bar? Well, it did - MANY THANKS!!!!! I Subscribed....
Thank you! Glad you liked the video 😀

I love your videos 🤣
Thank you! ❤️❤️
This tiny bar is exactly on my nerves. Jumps under my mouse constantly and drives me crazy. 😡
Bravo to Adobe for creating a great digital disturbing tool!🌹
Thanks!!! Is there a way to remove the background of a video in Photoshop? I would love a video on that.
Keep up the entertaining work. It’s funny and educational.
Thanks! Photoshop for video is very limited in terms of features. After Effects can do that, but it might take some time depending on the complexity and resolution of the video.
lol great edit
Thank you! I hid it and couldn't find how to enable it again haha
I got stuck right off the bat; wondering if the video is dated or if I'm doing something wrong. I followed your steps to reveal the contextual task bar; that was easy. But whether I create a blank screen as you do or open an image first, the button only ever says "Generative Expand", not "Import Image" on the New canvass, and not any of the nice flipping features if there's already an image there. When I try clicking on "Generative Expand", all i get is a warning message at the top that says: "To use this feature, first drag the canvass to expand". I don't know WHAT that means. Advice, please, good sir? Thanks for your ideas and support of our efforts! :-)
Hey, the contextual task bar changes according to what tool you have activated. If you select the Move tool, it will say "Import Image". If you select the Crop tool, it will say "Generative Expand".
@@2-minutedesign thanks for the quick reply, but we're not there yet. You're totally right that changing the tool changed the words on the button, but now the screen with the checkboard background (after selecting "New" and picking one of the size options) says "select subject" and a second button says "remove background", even though there's no image there yet. In better news, if I open a png and choose "Generate background", that does work.
What's this version of Photoshop?
