    I have to say Umesh, your attitude towards AI designing tools is really positive. That alone inspires me so much.

      Glad you feel that way, Sue :) I'm excited about your AI journey!

      What would his attitude be if the AI started producing the tutorial videos for him, including the video of an AI avatar of himself talking, and synthesising his voice. Seems like a joke, but that is also inevitable. Eventually we won't need to do ANYTHING, which will mean some of us (creatives) may find ourselves rather unfulfilled! The future is both brilliantly exciting and rather scary all the same.

    • @mua3588
      @mua3588 Рік тому +3

      @@scott-richardson just a reminder that computer learning (AI) isn't some magical being. Behind every AI is a creative developer. But that isn't enough... The AI that you use, uses YOUR personal style that you "taught" (programmed by default). So it speeds up YOUR process but with your personal style. A AI u start using is not capable on day one, but it will help you from day100+. It doesn't take your creativity away. It rather helps you to be able to widen it

    • @Joe-zg9eq
      @Joe-zg9eq Рік тому +3

      @@scott-richardson honestly by the way things are going, my vision of the future (say two centuries) is that the "human made artwork" or "custom art work" will be insanely valued, since altho AI would be able to do a good job, rich people would want smth customised, i mean you can see in today's world how much money is spent on such things by the top one percenters

    The existence of these tools now, and the rate in which new ones are popping up and improving as the days go on is just insane. This was all science fiction to creatives just a few years ago, and now it seems like the tech is advancing faster than we can keep up with it. It's exciting but terrifying at the same time!! Thanks for the tutorial as always

      "Just a few years ago" -- try just one year ago. DALL-E 1 was an interesting research result, but nothing with usable quality. DALL-E 2 was first announced *only 5½ months ago.* Since then, all the other models started coming out at lightning speed. This kind of tech has literally only been around, in any usable quality, for half a year.

    As promising as these things are, I hope that developers for software like Photoshop do not rush so quickly into adopting server side machine learning functions that we're stuck to online services for getting any significant new functionality.

    I was a bit sceptical about AI generated images, however, I've come to look at it like this. I love film photography, working in the darkroom, developing etc. However, about 99% of what I do these days is with a digital camera and Photoshop. Because often I just need to get stuff done, and that is how I'm beginning to look at AI, yes I still like to do things manually, but AI now offers me the opportunity to just get work done so I can go and play in the dark room.

    Hey Unmesh, fantastic video as always. I've used DALL_E a number of times to do what you describe here, and I've found you DON'T need to enter in a description - the image itself serves as the description. Unless you want to add something entirely new to the picture it's just not necessary. (I just enter a full stop in the description field and hit Generate). That's been my experience anyway!

    I'm not going to lie, as a traditional artist, AI is very intimidating. I don't make money from my art anymore but it does make me paranoid that creative jobs such as painting eventually will be entirely automated. However, your approach to AI makes me excited to use it as a tool for photo editing and for that I feel less pressured.

    • @visualdosage234

      AI can only take inspiration from existing work / styles, plus u have zero control over what itll do exactly. it can create concept art but the whole scene will be quite random, ofc itll only get better and better. but if your client is looking for something specific its hard to create with just text prompts. i work as a vector illustrator making merchandise, most of my clients are youtubers / twitch streamers, i dont know of any AI that can do vector based work, but even if that was here i wouldnt be affraid of losing my job.

      Learning to use the tools as an artist is the way to go. I started using ai in my graphic design job. Think of ways to incorporate it into your workflow. Even if it’s just for inspiration. Adapt or fall behind. Humans will always be needed to some degree. Even artists.

    • @dont-want-no-wrench

      that was my first impression as well krafty, but on reflection i dont think so. it will end up filling the same kind of need as stock art did when those online sites blew up years ago. there is always need for creative work, this can become a tool we can use though for our own purposes. it's on us to figure out how.

    • @StingRayPartsWashers
      @StingRayPartsWashers Рік тому

      AI uses the stolen work of millions of photographers and artists for its database that were scanned from the internet. Then it uses bits and pieces from the database to make a composite that fits what you submit. AI can never create anything original. It can only make stuff from the sampled data. The larger the sample the larger the variation of the composited results. Taken to the extreme AI will eventually create all content of every conceivable variation of the data set. When you submit your "new" phot to the AI, guess what , it is added to the data set. By selecting the ones you "like" and rejecting the others you are teaching the AI to improve such that it leans toward the collective "average" of what everyone thinks. This is the opposite of risk taking that many artist do. Not sure how I feel about this. I love the ability but I'm not sure how feel about the hijacking of our collection intelligence especially since we didn't grant our permission. Some of the AI projects you can review the data set others aren't public. The big AI companies are using the copyrighted material without permission for art because there are no big "artists" to complain. Not so with music and video. There we have big business versus big business. Probably why we haven't seen any AI music creation software. I'm sure AI could turn out the hits if it was allowed to sampled a 100 million existing hits. You could have any artist sing or perform any song you wanted. Dolly Parton performs Smoke on the Water. Only difference between art and music is big business is not going to let their music intellectual property be used without a fight.

    To solve the problem with the resolution, it might be even more important to crop the image. Not just to get a square but also to reduce it to the area you've masked plus some margin so the AI has something to work with. That way, you're not wasting resolution for parts of the image that don't have to be edited. You can then put that back into the original image.
    That's just a theoretical idea and I didn't try it yet, but it might be problematic if the AI would also edit unmasked parts of the image to make it work and those parts are also at the edge of the result. But to repair that manually should be much easier than doing everything manually.

      @@pandadayi Understandable. Though to be clear, at least the AUTOMATIC1111 WebUI fork of Stable Diffusion can run on GPUs with as little as 4GB of VRAM, and they claim it might even work on as little as 2GB, so double-check to see if your machine might actually be able to handle it.

    Really amazing. I think uses like that and ADDING AI to your workflow is one of it's biggest strengths.

    Do you know about Topaz Labs for removing noise and sharpening with AI. Really wonderful product at least for me. The sharpening is great. Also I saw a video of you about the steps of compositing. Will this be on your tutorial I bought from you? I can't find it again,. You stated that it was available on Adobe but I can't find it. Please advise.

    I'm honestly just imagining how this can change the concept making art. Even a person with just a creative idea, but who hasn't practiced painting or sculpting or whatever, could just draw some outlines and then have AI to fill the detail and shading. It opens up so many possibilities

    Although Unmesh has a PS chain-link fence removal process, wouldn't it be wonderful if Select Subject could notice such a subject, select it completely, then use content aware to make it appear as if there was never a fence in front of your subject !!
