Rain World (1.5) - a run of Testing Simulation

- Small region I made for testing movement tech. This is the original from 1.5, but it was later ported to 1.9 by FivePuddles, and is on the steam workshop now. The input display is a different mod by slime_cubed (still available on RainDb).
Oh that is amazing. Looks like it's very close to being an amazing way to practice technical moves on. :0
I found that 11 can be done more simply by roll pouncing.
true
Finally there is an application for the ceiling slide trick!
This gave me some Portal vibes, I feel you could make a Portal-esque mod with an iterator acting as GLaDOS.
very fun region! all of the movement tech used in these rooms were fun but i really really hope i never ever have to use snail jumping during an actual run
that is seriously amazing! I love the idea.
That "wah wah" sound is oddly relaxing!
I had a hard time storing inputs going into the pipe. Would running the game at 60fps maybe be making it harder for me? Also how do I stop slugcat going into a "failed slide" where he kinda just slugs into the ground.
60 fps is good. And for failed slides, if you're going for a leap or backflip/whiplash, then the ground flop is a sign of mistiming the jump input during the slide (or jump + back for whiplash).
No, even i had a hard time doing it and i play on a crappy laptop.
just played through this region, hella tight lime!...

Very swag region lime, reminded me a lot of VVVVVV. 10/10
why do i know what that is.
@@sewerrat335 cuz its a swag game
@@VallyPally I beat the game it was fun
@@sewerrat335 why do I know that too, i’ve never played it or plan on playing it and I’ve only heard of it once
incredible work. the vibe of a tutorial we never got
i feel like a longer tutorial would be worse for the game honestly
Those sounds... They're from the depths of the ocean!
Really cool concept, there's a lot more potential for maps like this in RW that hasn't been explored. Would be cool to see something that incorporated den slides/ water bounces and that thing where you backflip off the top of a pole.
i knew of these moves but i didnt know they could be used this way... mind blowing!
wow, didnt know you could spear upwards!
Just beat it, was a really unique experience! Would love to see a rain world map use some of these movement mechanics
Hopefully not the buggy looking ceiling slide.

I really hope it will turn out to be the Jump Academy of Rain World
I would never look at the rain world the same way again 0.0
i love the aesthetic. now if only i knew movement tech
looks fun
what's wrong with your snails?
They have blue faces.
same reason slugcat's eyes change color, i think.
Hello! I'd comment under the port on the Workshop, but it turns out that my account is limited, and I really wanted to compliment your region. The little side ARG (if that's the right word) that the player gets as a treat for completing an already stylish and fun movement tech practice course is fantastic. The design is overall beautiful, and your storytelling fits very well into Rain World somehow.
I hope the Watchers can feel fulfilled once again soon.
looks cool
looks a lot like VVVVVV
Great Video! I was expecting the slugcat to die at the end just like in the Portal Games but that didn't happen, good for sluggy cat
Looks like an Aperture lab.
Gotta give it to those rain world players, they know tech that NEVER gets to be used in game
Ok, but how do you test regions? And also how do you make gates?
This is insane
You can do these on the normal game??
Yep, though some might be less useful such as the upward wall sliding. Throwing the spear up probably is too thought sniping a vulture that way would be pretty sick.
This is an amazing testing, I've managed to complete all 12 and I really want to see more of these, that's perfect for practicing and really interesting!
1:00 I also didn't know that you can just use rolling pounce and I used extended slide pounce instead😭
1:24 da fack
where do you get this? CRS says that there is no more browser :(
It’s so beautiful to see it with actual colors!
so thats what travel pipes look like, that's cool!
u so genius bro, thanks!
I wouldn't be surprised if this was a real area in the game
Where in outskirts is it?
I have to make the obligatory "Downpour port when?" comment. Earlier, I had an idea for a Kaizo Kindergarten-style map for movement tech, and you already have such the lovely region, here. :O
i didnt understand how to install it, can you explain it better or help me with it please?
I forgot to ever update the description, but it's a mod from 1.5 so it's no longer available
Damn alr then, ty
Me watching knowing I’ll never even come close to doing most of this
I imagine if RW's movement was in some sort of platforming game.
how did you get there i looked all over the map but i cant find it
I’ve made a port of it to 1.9 do i have permission to release it to the workshop?
send an email to me first, I have questions
@@LimeCultivist what is your email so i can send you one?
@@LimeCultivist alright ive sent one
I didn’t know you could move like that what
when i get this game i gonna master its movement
Very clever use of palates!
It was like finding Floating Isles Goku all over again, thanks and 👁
FI drip goku is a big inspiration to us all

Very nice ascetic

also this could be implemented in vannila with like five peeples testing the slugcat or another interator that is not moon because she ill :/
i would also like to know, currently trying to find it.
update, found it.

THE LEVEL EDITOR CANT DO THAT TF DID YOU MAKE THIS
STOP DOING MODDING
(or get out of modhole)
(or dont make custom color palettes)
(or stop using the editor)
...Huh? Why should they stop? this is really fucking cool-- I mean, even that on it's own, getting new tiles and palettes working is pretty impressive, I don't get it.
why should they stop?
@@frankdrawsnear9995🦟
I liked room 8 the most, it was a pretty cool thing to learn despite it probably not being usable in any situation in vanilla rain world, maybe ill see something similar in a region mod.
