I am a revert for 6 years now and I am blessed with a very understanding orthodox christian family of 4 (my parents and a younger sister). They make sure I don't miss my salat. They also eat only halal food . Alhamdulillah. I am trying hard to make them accept islam. Insha Allah

I doubt he took any meaningful look at what both religious apologists and academic critics of the religion say about it in order to make an informed choice

Zakir Naik fans do it regularly on his videos, they'll write the same sentence using different accounts but containing the exact same spelling mistakes in the same places.

Making dua that you will accept your mom just the way she is, including her choice to follow her current religion. Don't try to change her to suit your wishes, but simply accept and love her as your mom. I don't think you would want your mom or anyone else to make dua to their God that you will leave Islam and return to your original religion. Please show the same respect and acceptance for your mom that you would want her to show to you.

oooh boy! I wish my parents were just a fraction of tolerant like her mom. Reverted to Islam in 2017 and Alhamdulillah even though they have not accepted my reversion to Islam fully, some baby steps are evident. I had to shut off from my relatives for 2 years and i know this might sound anti-islamic but it's a form of hijra.
Our prophet pbuh and his sahaba r.a had to make hijra from makkah to madina to escape persecution and prior to that some of the sahaba were advised to migrate to Abyssinia as well. Islam really is not about the wrong doctrines portrayed by the media but Islam provides the purpose of life to every individual and it's hurting to see we need to hit rock bottom before we come across it.
Anyway, Alhamdulillah now i have a wife and a son and family ties are getting better and more than all that i am a fully practicing muslim. To all those who have to undergo all this take heart. Allah says "La tahzan Inna laha ma,ana" - Don't despair Allah is with us and he also assures us that he will never impose a test on you that you cannot handle. Allah also says indeed with hardship comes ease. And to all those born of a muslim family wallah thank ALLAH you don't have to undergo this phase for there is no greater test on a muumin than a test on his deen.

There was a man in the time of our prophet pbuh, he didn't meet the prophet but the prophet said that man's dua is always answered by Allah swt because he was looking after his old mom,so plz make dua for me with all the good things that might come to your mind
Times have changed. My Mum converted she was kicked out by her parents. They never spoke to her or tried to reach her until they passed away. My Mum has had a good life. We had a stable family system. Our parents have been together for close to 60 years. My dad never cheated on my Mum. My Mum never cheated on him. My dad does not drink or ever did drugs nor did my Mum. We (their kids) benefited from this stability.
We now have kids of our own. I have never touched Alcohol or drugs in my life. I am faithful to my wife and my wife is faithful to me. We have a good peaceful family life and our kids now benefit from it. I look at all the other friends my Sons have from school and a lot of them have instability in their life. Hardly any of them come from a family where their parents are together.
My Mum sacrificed a lot to convert and she does not regret it one bit. Islam at its very core has a very logical and sensible set of values. It just gets bad PR from the press because the press have the same interpretation of it that groups like ISIS do.

They did not come from Atheism that says its all about the survival of the fittest and we all came from nothing and there is no God and no purpose to life. Its just a genes arms race. That ideology leads to what we see in the jungle which is ruthless survival of the fittest. It would never lead to a human society where human beings are good to each other.

Hamdulillāh, I was guided to Islam this last summer after I watched the Hajj. A feeling told me to listen to the Noble Qur'an and only a few Aya into Surat al-Baqarah, hamdulillāh, my heart was softened. I finished the Qur'an and then bought a few copies, and I'd found answers to questions I never knew I had!

I left Islam after 30 years of devotion to it when I found out about the massacre of Banu Qurayza (when Mohamed ordered the beheading of at least 600 men and teenage boys of a Jewish tribe he accused of treason - even though there was zero evidence of it).
I also couldn't understand why the Quran would contain so many scientific errors.
I think we often conflate Muslims (who are decent good people the majority of the time) with their belief (something that was produced in the seventh century and isn't suited for our modern age if followed to the tee).

Hi, I would encourage you to please reconsider this. The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. We could never do enough works and stuff to get to heaven. That is why Jesus came to earth and died for us so he paid it for us! John 3: 16 says I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh to the Father but by me. And the Bible also says in Ephesians, For By Grace are ye saved through faith and not that of yourselves it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast. And in Romans it says confession and faith you will go to heaven. Please reconsider. Also Jesus is a god of love. And allah isnt. I was raised in Philippines when I was 1 years old till 12, years old..I thought I was a Christian and no family and even my late dad died didn't tell me his a Muslim .I learn christian and im no 1 at school every year till I finish studied in christian.. when my dad died the embassy took my late dad body and us going to Brunei. And i studied in Islam had to stay in Brunei..and then I open the Quran..I cried . I don't know why.. didn't my late dad's brother took me and bring me to the mosque every Friday to pray . I didn't ask and I prayed with him. Everytime I open the Quran .it makes me cry and I read the Quran .. it felt like talking to me..and I believe in Islam.. it's truth . Over the years, I find Islam being victimised by total misunderstandings sometimes because of total ignorance by the non believers or Muslims own foul behaviours. But my faith is getting stronger just by learning from the correct sources ie Quran and Hadiths via true Islamic clerics .People, learn through valid sources and you will definitely know the truth. To not pillage, and not even do as much as destroying a tree. The so called prisoners of war had to be fed normal meals, and they couldn’t even be placed in shackles. Didn't know we had a biblical scholar here when you're saying Judaism is far from its original form, my guess is that you're forming that opinion based on what you've been told by Muslim sheikhs or relatives, not any in depth studies of scripture or biblical history. I have no vested interest as I think Judaism is trash, but to claim it's far from its original form would require some evidence that's independent, not from a religious doctrine that came after it. Quran-only Muslims will tell you orthodox Sunni Islam and Shia Islam are also far from the original too. Ahmadiyya Islam will say the same thing, Bahaai religion will tell you the same thing about Islam. These are all opinions and not facts unless evidence from neutral academic sources are given alongside these statements.

Unfortunately my family and friends has cut off ties with me.. no home.. not much spare clothes.. got fired from my job ( boss & colleagues are non muslims ) coz i got caught sneaking away to pray Zuhr & As'r at staircase landings.
