I agree, also in vintage Chanel bags, their softest leather and thickest gold alloy coating are in the Classic Flaps. I have purchased 2 pre-1986 Chanel double flaps, although the leather is worn, gold coatings on turn locks still remained beautifully. Some hardwares on Italian made vintage Chanel bags were layered with thin gold, so come off more easily, as Hermes hardwares. I avoid taking my gold alloy plated vintage Chanel to salt air/ beach area, and avoid hand sanitizer ( alcohol ) on the gold hardwares, so the gold will remain its brilliant shine.

Hermes doesn’t care either. I’m so confused how people feel like it’s ok to spend $10,000 on Hermes bag but not Chanel. Hermes doesn’t want you saving your money to buy their bags. If you have to save for your bags and figure out if you have spent enough to be offered a bag, you are not Hermes target audience.

Why should chanel care about you or anyone it's a business they are here to make money. Let's be real hermes doesn't care either it's about the money. None of these bags are worth what they charge they don't even cost any where near what they caharge to make it. I saw a video whare a sa told a client that a wealthy client was complaining about how crowded the stores are and women with children in strollers in the store. chanel got the message they want their wealthy clients to be happy removing the less wealthy is what they are doing . Hermes has been gaming people for years and no one complains. Calling it a journey lets say what it is they want people to beg and chase bags that they as a store should sell you. Hermes makiing it harder to get bags is the same thing they want their super rich to have the bags as they have let too many non wealthy get hold of those bags. The elite and their clients are not the women who have to save and they know this. They want their exclusive clients back not the middle class ones who only can afford one bag a year.

OMG, I soooo agree with you. It is insane how people will talk trash about Chanel price increases but will spend 10,000 on junk at Hermes before you are “offered “ a $10,000 bag. Hermes has the best hustle of all time😂
Hi Rei! Thanks for your question! I like the WOC I think it's a beautiful bag, strap is a little long for a shoulder bag but looks great crossbody. I haven't seen any major quality flaws with them. I would take a good close look at stitching and make sure the flap sits straight 💖 I would also opt out of the embellished ones with fancy straps unless it looks like a very secure fitting between the embellishments (if that makes sense)

By a look at your Chanel Collection I can‘t understand, why people always buy the same overprized boring flap bag over and over again. There are a lot of brands with better quality and much lower but justified prizes than Chanel or Hermes. For me, seeing someone carrying a Chanel or a Hermes bag, I think: You might be rich but also really dumb 😂
Yeah, I mean that can be hard to understand for sure. Everyone makes different decisions but for me, I like sticking with bags that retain and grow in value over time and don't depreciate with trends like others brands might if I'm buying in the 1k-10k price range. The quality and market stability is better then just any old bag which as soon as you buy it you lose most of the value. I do like other brands. For instance Polene! I just got a new bag from them and it's really nice quality and thoughtful design. However it is under that 1k price range so it's nbd.
