800N will create equal moment to the moment which creates mass of the door. then door must be stable. But how it is happening when we are opening little bit, after that gas spring pening the door till the end?
The length of the strut (comp and extended) is important for placement which will change D. This simple approach works for LBS and inches or feet too but choosing a strut length AND force has to be done carefully. Make a drawing...
Some models have a set screw. By loosening it you will release gas therefore, reducing the gas pressure inside the cylinder, therefore reducing the force of it. Just take into consideration that the gas inside is nitrogen, so release it little by little. Use proper gloves since your fingers can get cold.
No estoy seguro.
Do you have a video how to calculate the distances from the pivot? Or we just choose that ourselves?
This was just great! Now let's make a spreadsheet!
How did you get the 300mm on 'D'
how about if somebody uses aluminum and the other uses steel? Is this computation still reliable?
can gas spring be used for opening ( automatic )and closing ( automatic )also
Thanks....😘😘😘😘
D=L*cos45=500*0.7=350
how do you calculate 300?
With that geometry the piston is not going to let the door close.
The answer is 800N. Did you get the right answer?

How can I apply this to a vertical murphy bed?
hi
you did not illustrate the "Force" on the diagram.
Where is the "F" ?
Can I ask; should the gas strut extend to its maximum length when the lid it is fitted to is fully open? I'm fitting this to a classic car bonnet.
20kg?,, or N?
I want to reduce.pressure of it.
How to do

Is the 300mm D the distance from hinge point to first fixing point on the lid?
measure the distance at right angles to the gas strut
I love that! Thanks
Thanks.
what weight of gaspring?
Me arrepiento no haber aprobado geometria😅
To measure D, which angle taken in refence?
D, means the distance between hinge and the gas spring, and the gas spring is in an extended state. So the angle should be 90°.
@@peirinternationallimited3097 You have any formula to calculate time requirement to complete open and close cabinet ?
@yash ladani Pls send the inquiry to the mailbox: info@peir-hk.com
now i iknow it.. tq
800 n is right

About that much ,plus a little bit more.😁.
How to calculate D?
D, means the distance between hinge and the gas spring. You can know 'D' by measuring.
measure the distance at right angles to the gas strut
wrong!
So so wrong
