First of all. Its not the 6th but the 4th. And King Baldwin IV is an overly romanticized figure by crusader fanboys who fail to realize that the crusades were a complete failure.

Also, the crusaders came from all across europe, Germany, France, Spain, England and so on and only managed, with all this effort, to hold on to Jerusalem for 100 years. At roughly the same time a Mix of arabs and local berbers managed to conquer the complete iberian peninsula, and held on to big parts of it for about 800 years. They also turned it into one of the most prosperous regions in the world with the biggest City Cordoba inhabited by 1 million people, which included a sewage system, unheard of at the time, and libraries ten times bigger than any other european ones, only comparable to Baghdad and Damascus.
@@Zaid-vs2zz I would say not completely while a forgone conclusion that the Crusader states would be lost (even if they did successfully took Egypt) they did still last 200 Years which isn't bad when you consider that almost everyone wanted them out of there especially the Egyptian States who at points completely surrounded the Crusader States. (also the Berbers were pushed back due to the Reconquista eventually so its almost even but Islamic Rule in the Iberian Peninsula was only completely eliminated with the fall of Granada) While Islamic Rule of Iberia did last longer but this was due to its closer proximity to the North African Islamic States while the Crusader States had to rely on the Mediteranian.

Ubisoft should embrace the Leper King angle. The red rocks (I forget the name) should be exposed to Vortiger and give him leprosy. Then release a couple leper helmets and armour for Black Prior. Maybe thw lead Warminger could punish Vortiger with corruption, like Appollion betrayed them. Feeding the vicious cycle narrative of the early seasons' lore.

I would like to point out that there MIGHT be another inspiration behind the Black Prior this being Dante from Dante's Inferno. Yes I know this is a Divine comedy but I'm talking about the video game itself, in this analysis! If you look at the Black Prior, Story and Design wise there is a lot of similarities. First lets talk about his Look more noticeably his hood and crown. In the game Dante's Inferno, Dante wears a Chainmail hood with a crown that looks like crown of thorns, Then when you look at BP he is dawning a hood that looks almost identical to the very hood that Dante wears. Moving on from his design if you look at the story of Dante's Inferno, Dante was a Crusader who pledged his loyalty to the church (this being the order of the priors and Apollyon in For Honor) when Dante broke his promise to his beloved Beatrice after betraying her, he threw himself into the gates of hell to redeem himself once more! (this being the faction war in For honor) not only to her but to god and those he wronged in his past. If you were to compare this to Black Prior and his Dialogue where he says that he would "step out the shadows and show them true darkness" and "The Time to Repent is over" this could be another reference to his Redemption Arc after the defeat of Apollyon and her legion which lead him and his order into hiding and being disgraced (similar to Dante and his quest for redemption). anyways this is just my take on him! thanks for listening! love the vids!

I wanna play an rpg set in the For Honor verse. All these interesting warriors of history and legend are too interesting to leave to a fighting game. I’d love to play a mongolian mounted archer or a warrior of my favorite historical figure, Salah Ad-Din.
I could also see the 4th crusade as influence, going with a historic medieval theme, at least in the sense of the fall of these warriors (sack of constantinople, turning evil).

The character inspired by Baldwin is, in the lore of the game itself, a woman named Ravier. Though she was modeled after and inspired by Baldwin, it is not meant to be directly him. That was the scene when Salah Al-Din was about to seige a Crusader city because the leader inside had committed crimes against him. Baldwin showed up to tell Salah Al-Din not to get involved or it would ruin the peace terms they'd agreed to, and he would personally punish the perpetrator.
i like the theory about them trying to redeem themselves by using dangerous tactics to win at any cost, it reminds me of the Death Korps of Krieg from 40K

All of these have royal, politically high, or religious titles, which can tie into your belief of him being tied to king and church of the medieval age of crusades, not to mention at the time of the medieval age, king and church were working together to rule the countries

I disagree with him being Baldwin, he did suffer from Leprosy which was seen as cursed at the time but the Black Prior is a bit of a dark, witchcraft, pagan-esque figuer, while I agree he is armor and weapons wise inspired by the Normans, his character maybe more inspired by the Lithuanians (one of the Last Pagans in Europe) and the Cathars (a Gnostic sect of Christianity oppressed by the Catholic Church and the target of the Albijensian Crusade)
Love the video, only thing that bothered me isn't really a big deal, but you say Normans were "Nordic" and they were actually Norse, Nordic is just a skyrim thing :P

All of the Harbingers are edgy, Black Prior is just kinda the most overt about it. Hitokiri is kinda just hollow.
