My husband and I just took a bunch of wax left over from other candles and sorted them by color. Then poured back into jars. We are not picky about temp. as long as it is melted and smells good. Still have to top them off. We have candles!!! ... might not be centered perfectly but, Oh well!!! 😛
Great video, I have been experimenting with different natural colorants and scents. I just colored with red chili; it made a nice orange. I them scented with lemon eucalyptus essential oil. Looks and smells great! Super fun!

Stirring always helps but nice and slow, as not to get air bubbles. To be honest in my experience the longer you cure your candles the better they bind with the scent 👍

I've never noticed a huge difference in curing candles for longer than 4-5 days. Candles are not like soap, they don't need to sit for weeks at a time for a chemical process to take place. They're just hardening. q
Essential oils should be avoided. Use fragrance oils (pre-made blends), or ideally, if you have the skills, make your own fragrance oil using aroma chemicals which are suitable for candles.
Betty Williams yesss!! That's my question!!! Base in alllllllll my search!!! and some testing, I add the fragance between 135-130 degrees F. Pour no higher than 100 degrees F. Bamm!! you'll get the perfect candle. Smooth good scent throw 😉

You mean the tops of the candles? If they dip thats normal. Wax shrinks as it cools and you just need to run a heat gun over the tops to smooth them back out.
When you say you have 10 Oz of wax and you add half Oz of frangrace, do you measure 10oz of wax before its melted in its hard state and then figure out your fragrance percentage from that?
I'm confused - all other online advice about wax fragrance is one ounce per pound. So I just made my first batch of candles with that concentration. How do you decide? Thanks.

Use me to comment: a) if you have already figured out your ideal % of essential oil (Y/N) b) what % of essential oils was that (x%) c) at what temperature you added the essential oil to the wax (x° Degrees Celcius) d) at what temperature you poured (x° Degrees Celcius) Make sure to specify: 1) what type of wax you used (if 100% soy, when possible, specify if it's 464, 444, etc.) 2) are you sure your essential oils were 100% pure? (Y/N) 3) what essential oil you used (lavender, eucaliptus, patchouli, etc.) 4) If you have already figured out the wick size and all the rest. (Y/N) (This so that we can be sure that this is not interfering with your results)

It depends on the wax you're using, the wax will indicate the recommended fragrance oil %

That's a candy making thermometer. You can find them usually in the grocery stores in the kitchen supplies section.
