A girl who would never be given even half a chance, who would usually be looked down on by the entire room, sits in the middle and sings a beautiful rendition of a song about the simple, free pleasures of life, to a room of people who can never grasp that concept. For a brief moment, by sitting down at her piano, she’s standing tall above them all. This scene came out of nowhere with how touching it was.
In a show full of duplicitous relationships based on unstable power dynamics, the friendship between these two feels all the more genuine. This performance was lovely.
You can see the pride and love that Lucia has watching her friend sing. So glad that there wasn't a falling out or some other twist. Their "Sicilian Victory Lap" to this song was the perfect ending.
The moon belongs to everyone, The best things in life are free. The stars belong to everyone, They gleam there for you and me. The flowers in spring, the robins that sing, The moonbeams that shine, they're yours, they're mine. And love can come to everyone, The best things in life are free.
Beatrice Grannò’s voice was so beautiful. I love how her friend (Simona Tabasco) was so happy for her in this scene. No hint of jealousy. A true friend. I am in love with Grannò’s voice and have been googling her and so far only found 2 other songs by her. I hope she puts out an album. I had never heard of her before The White Lotus but I am aware of her now. I am also taken with the other Italian actors in this series. Will have to watch some Italian movies to see them. I learned Sabrina Impacciatore is an Oscar level actor and has been nominated twice for the David di Donatello awards, which is the Italian equivalent of the Oscars. I hope we see more of all 3 of these women on our screens soon, but will look forward to learning about Italian film in the meantime and hoping Grannò puts out an album soon.
I can’t get it out of my head it’s such a beautiful piece. And I love the girls’ friendship too, reminds me a lot of the bond Abby and Ilana have in Broad City.
@@EdDunscombe I am now eagerly looking forward to watching the episode tonight, as if I wasn’t already😄 We go to sleep early in my house and watch it on Monday after work, so you have given me something to look forward to. Beatrice needs to put out an album. I am really glad Mike White has given her the opportunity to showcase her talents.
@@LightBluePoemHZ Me neither. My tween daughter and I made up a dance to the song and dance to it almost every night. I have played her song over and over. Beatrice’s version is better than all the greats before her such as Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra (I hope lightening doesn’t strike me for saying that😳).
Oh shit I cried. I was unemployed and struggling when I watched this scene. I had to pray to God and understand the meaning of this song. A week later, I was hired by Kelly Services.

I come back here often especially with the current genocide ongoing. I wish the message of the song is evident to all. When even rain is not allowed to be collected by a starving population bombed beyond humanity....where can one find solace. here's to hoping for peace, beauty, humanity and peace.
Made me think of Mad Men in the best of ways. Going through a lot of heartache these days. Lost so much in the last three months. It’s hard af, and this shit moved me and for a holy one minute and fifty-three seconds I was light again. Not so fucking bogged down by how much it all hurts. Beautiful art!
My thoughts exactly, especially the rough last couple of months. Lost my dog, lost my health. And this song is so ....ethereal. I keep coming back to it. Hope you're holding it all together by the way, sending love 🩷
@@dionys2992 I’m so sorry about your dog. My former/now current gf had kept the dogs and it was like losing everything I cared about. I was so down all the time. I’m grateful for art like this that got me through, and silver lining and update of my current situation, as of a month ago we are back together and life is better. I feel grateful for the life I feel like I’m living again. I hope it gets better. I know it will. Sending you love as well. Despite how depressing and agonizing as life can be and was for me 3 months ago I wanted to say it was beautiful. Life even at its worst is still beautiful. It’s harder to see when you’re in the thick of it but I wanted to tell you you are loved and appreciated. Thank you for your kind words and I hope you find peace and happiness soon. You deserve it.
I love how this song also played in the finale scene when Mia & Lucia have their exit scene. Their friendship this season really proved that, despite all the money and luxury all characters possess, best thing in life really are free.
Beatrice Granno absolutely sang this song to perfection it brought up so many emotions for me. I look for more of her work an only found another besides this one. I'm think Mike white did a superb job with White Lotus and especially have Beatrice Granno, Simona Tabasco, and Sabrina Impacciatore in the cast. For me I would like for Beatrice to do a remake of " The Girl from Ipanema". Bravo Beatrice Granno !!!
Such a good singer and such a great series The White Lotus and the beautiful scenery of Italy this young lady was the star of the show in my eyes very beautiful young lady and full of dreams
i thought this had to be fake. Glad it wasn't and that the writers showed off her musical talent in the WL. It would have been criminal not to. Perfection.
Beatrice Grannò is such a delight. I loved hearing her interpretations of these beautiful songs, it was such a delicious bonus to the impeccable acting from the entire cast.
i need someone to compile the scenes of mia singing coz it's my favorite part of every episode.. i need her you belong to me cover and i cannot find it on youtube😭
I'd like to be her. I don't have any word to express how much this song talk to me. I'm also italian by the way, I love when Italy is a setting for sich wonderfull film.
We live in a work of extreme hustle, get a degree, work a lot of hours, killed by our ambition, than find a boy, get married, buy an house, have kids, constantly push forward without smell the roses and apreciate the sunshine. P.s. I'm italian and my english isn't good sorry for any mistake

If she put out an album singing classics, I'd buy it today for $25.
I would pay $50 not gonna lie!
I'd pay 50,000 euros
The way she sings with such sweetness, is precious.

I feel like Mia and Beatrice were the one who won in this season, because they were the only ones who had a genuine love for each other.
I fell in love multiple times in this scene
The actress is so expressive, her gaze is so eloquent!
When she sings "They're yours , they're mine" that "They're mine." is personal

The Sam Cooke version was the last song used in the show. Really good tie back.
I want this on Spotify to calm my soul
Mia a Luci are my absolute favorite. I love the relationship and I lovvee how Mia sings
they and valentina, but especially them were the heart of the season for me. I'm sure both of us couldn't happier with the ending
I wish there was a full version of this

Great rendition.
Although I think Robert Morse did it better in Mad Men.
