I like knowing how people got here b/c I don't play video games and I never would have known that this good music had found a new, young audience through video games. So, hooray!
If you’re curious, the game is called bioshock and I love the game and soundtrack. I’m not even old enough for other people to think I know of the songs.
I can’t describe the feeling I get when I listen to older songs like this. It’s like I’m the last person on earth, walking through an abandoned city street with this echoing through the buildings-
Me and my buddys went on a trip to the coast this weekend (first time all 3 of us were together in over a decade) we all got a wild hair and decided to walk out onto the beach and crank up the tunes at night because no one will be able to hear us and what other chance will we get to do this together, we're all getting old and never see it together like the old days? we went out had a couple beers watched the stars for about 4 hours and this came on the stereo right at the end. The best things in life really are free.
Danny greed no it really didn't. There has always been a fair amount of bad or irrelevant music on the market throughout our history. People just don't remember it because of nostalgia goggles.
LYRICS The moon belongs to everyone The best things in life are free The stars belong to everyone They gleam there for you and me The flowers in spring The robins that sing The sunbeams that shine They're yours, they're mine And love can come to everyone The best things in life are free
I'm huge into electronic music like dubstep and dnb but this type of music 30's- 50's jazz are my other favorite type of music. Fallout 3 and Bioshock actually introduced me to this type of music and I love it. Which is wierd considering my other love for electronic music. I guess what I'm trying to say is that just because someone likes one type of music doesn't mean they can't appreciate another.
i live 2 blocks from the bass player !!! who would have thought this ol guy would be my nieghbor......I drink and have a smoke and listen to the storys he is definatly a human being that has watched this world change and knows a great deal about life .
I think if someone hears a song and likes it enough to go find can say what ever they want im getting sick of people being like "it doesnt matter what brought you here" because it matters to them and other people to.... be grateful that people today will listen to great classic music how ever they came to find it
My mom and sister are going to her medical appointment. The Inkspots are my parents favorite group, especially my father. I woke up playing "With Plenty of Money and You". R.I.P. father Scott and may my mother Amanda have good health and a long prosperous life. 7/11/19. (Wed.) 7:20-7:22 a.m. 👑🌟🌈❤👸💒🙌
I have watched Mad Men (s7,ep7), and i heard this song by Bert Cooper. It's sounds diffrend, but it remined me something. Then i remerbered, it was from the Fallout 3!
I think what he means is more like: it doesn't matter how you got here, what matters is that you can listen to it and enjoy it. Whether you came here because of your vinyls or a video game, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you found it and it's good, and that video game you heard it from did you a favor by introducing you to great music.
you cant buy the moon you cant buy friendship and you definitely cant buy your mother, if anyone says games are the best its man made and that cost money. Best things in life are free because that also means its priceless. love this song because it's true cant go wrong
Agreed. I mean I like rock, pop, a little electro, and a lot of this type of music. I hate when people think their favorite music is the only real music and all else is crap. Music is music you know?
I found this through the temptations upbeat version that they'd sing live. I like this version but the temptations version brings cheer to a gloomy day.
@BigDannyK Join the club! :) I had to stop when I heard this uplifting song today and I am on my forth play-through! This band had a long career, wikipedia said they were active from 1931 to 1964! The only ban I can think that was still playing music after so many years is U2.
as I was watching the green mile, right after coffey cured paul's bladder infection, and paul was... "bleeding the lizard", part 1:08 of this song popped into my head, google brought me here, now this song is in my favorites :)

This is just beautiful wether your a gamer or not. The fact that you listen to it because of gaming is cool though. Resurrection of the best music. Innocent times compared to now. Everybody hates someone now and very passionately 🤷♂️ beautiful song listen to music like this might change your bitter life 🙂
I got into the Ink spots after playing bioshock after hearing this very song I fell in love with their music especially the songs they recorded with Ella Fitzgerald
I love games like BioShock and fallout because the resurrect treasures like this song!

Nostalgia for a time you never lived. It gives you the acute sense of the passing of time and your own mortality
Literally Fallout
My grandmothers old tapes brought me here! :)
hopefully it wasn't her sex tapes
The best things in life are free, i agree with that

Bert Coopers rendition of this song was simply amazing, one of the best imho.
THIS IS WHEN MUSIC WAS MUSIC! Beautiful music and voices.
JadaM P So music wasn't music at some point? That makes no sense. How about not letting your personal preferences allow you to say nonsensical things?
Danny greed what this song? Yeah it's great. Too bad you're being loud with all those words you're saying.
Danny greed no it really didn't. There has always been a fair amount of bad or irrelevant music on the market throughout our history. People just don't remember it because of nostalgia goggles.
Music is always personal.
Danny greed again. No there wasn't.

@Lawrence Gillespie so hilarious but yes, definitely.
