Kelley returned to the empty toaster and put in another bagel upon which Nimoy once again urgently called him over for some help, then Shatner secretly stole that bagel. Kelley returned to the empty toaster, looked over at Shatner eating the bagel and called him a SOB.

It's coming up on 2 years since this was posted, and the first time I had any indication this was out there. THANK YOU for this. I miss the old Star Trek and I would loved to have had a drink with DeForest Kelley. Hell, any of them at this point. When he passed, that was when it started to hit me (I would have been about 21 then) that time will take us all.
Mr. Kelley was a true gentleman in every sense. He followed his own star, and Star Trek and the rest of us were just along for the ride. He was most proud of his Golden Boot award for contributions to western television and movies.
This is the first time I have ever heard Deforest speak in public and what a wonderful Impression left on me..he makes....here is where I was going to ryme but alas...I ran out of time.
Roddenberry may have loved life, been a deep thinker, and loved to have a good time. But more than anything else, he was a visionary. The man he first took Star Trek to said, "I like this. So it must be good because you can't sell it worth a damn."
I got too meet DeForest Kelley in 1970 and got to a lunch with the whole Crew of the USS Enterprise and about 4 or 5 Klingons and that was so very cool
Mr. Kelly was a truly humble southern gentleman, who brought so much to the Star Trek series. I never knew his father was a minister; it obviously gave him a good foundation for the rest of his life. R.I.P. Dee.🌠
I remember as a kid I lived every week day waiting on General Hospital to go off and my mother fade off somewhere so I could watch Fury and then Star Trek. It was my chance to escape from a place I didn't want to be and couldn't any other way. Thank You All for that momentary escape
I'm glad to hear that your mom let you watch it - it's ridiculous but my mom had the idea that it somehow wasn't normal for an adolescent girl to like Star Trek! I was "too interested" whatever that meant, and I was no where near a rabid fan. My dad liked it, though, and he would sneak me into his office to watch Star Trek reruns in secret on his little TV. One time there was a Star Trek convention, I was so excited but there was no way she would let me go- she thought Star Trek conventions were for "losers". My gosh, I'm 63 years old and I realize I'm still angry about this. Sorry.
Iconic. I used to watch this show dubbed in Spanish with my grandma on it's first run. Everyone else in the family thought we were strange for liking a show with a man with pointy ears. We got it. Always in my heart.
😭 A dear man. RIP. Entertaining, smart, wise. Best advice for new performers is to stay close to home and do shows. That is important for so many reasons. Almost never hear anyone in the business say that at conventions. Rare is it even asked of anyone else and when they answer, that is not what they say. It is a huge life change to leave home as it is. All on the notion you will make money in the entertainment business(let lone be rich and famous)before you learn whether you truly enjoy it for the craft that it is or not is a dire idea. There is(or should be)friends and family at home with moral support for you as you grow up trying to find where you want to be. The cut throat business of being an actor(not even behind the scenes)is so traumatic to a persons psyche, it can be devastating to go through it alone. So that was fantastic advice from him here. Hope others have taken that advice to heart.
Of all the Star Trek actors I've heard speak, Mr. Kelly sounded the most humble, grateful, and talented. Talented as a deep thinker and poet, talented as a speaker...he sends out vibes as the nicest decent person in general AND in show business. He's the kind of person to have as a best friend. Loyal, educated, respectable, family type person. I had not the merit to know him as a friend, but his wife must be an amazing person, to have merited him as a husband.
I'm glad that has come across in the interview. He truly seemed to be a kind man when we met him. He was just about the first really famous person I met back then and he was like a real person face-to-face. Thanks for watching!

"He's dead, Jim." McCoy's classic line.
"The whole scene would have gone up in fire if I had said that line."
"I'm a doctor, not an escalator".
If you were a red shirt, that pretty much summed it up.
DeForest Kelley always said his epitaph would be “He’s dead, Jim.” And it was!
I also liked, "Jim, you're killing him!"
Why would anyone dislike this?
Exactly
Probably Bill Shatner & co.
maybe the overlong poem. i would NEVER downgrade de tho. always loved him.
What a genuine man. Watching this was a great experience.
I just came across this by chance! I have been a Star Trek fan for a long time! It was so delightful to hear DeForest Kelly talk about his time in the show! I wish I could have met him and said thank you! Sadly I did not! I say thank you to him and R.I.P sadly 😥
Refreshing to see a nonbitter, grateful Star Trek cast member. De seemed very mentally healthy and strong during this presentation.
Mr. Kelley was a true gentleman in every sense. He followed his own star, and Star Trek and the rest of us were just along for the ride. He was most proud of his Golden Boot award for contributions to western television and movies.
I love this man he added the personality star trek.needed .I'm a trekkie forever.
Thanks for sharing. This whole entire clip made me laugh so hard 😂😂😂😂.
I'm so glad!
Life Arts Network Me too. God bless DeForest Kelley 😊.
This is the first time I have ever heard Deforest speak in public and what a wonderful
Impression left on me..he makes....here is where I was going to ryme but alas...I ran out of time.
I can't believe no one clapped when he brought up the movie Warlock - that was a great movie.
He seems such a fantastic person. Great actor too.
What great stories. And a tremendous talent. Thank you Mr. Kelley.
I have wonderful memories of listening to Kelley speak at a Star Trek convention in SF in 1977.
The 22 dislikes are from The Klingons.
I miss this guy, and Nichelle and Doohan and Nimoy. My youth is slipping away.
Shatner said Deforest Kelly was a true gentleman.
“We just keep going. We don’t care.” 🥰💓
Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed it!
And we are all here, because of you, Bones, and all those far-seeing explorers with stars in their eyes...
Dee kelley is a treasure! 33:30- “ ahh shatner would give his butt to have mine” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Roddenberry may have loved life, been a deep thinker, and loved to have a good time. But more than anything else, he was a visionary. The man he first took Star Trek to said, "I like this. So it must be good because you can't sell it worth a damn."
loved his relationship with Spock on the series. lol
R.I.P. Dee.🌠
Thank you for posting this, it is wonderful.
At STLV 2022 there needs to be a room just playing all of these videos 24/7.
This is a nice convention with deforest Kelley! It’s hard to believe, this was filmed in 1994!
Sorry.
So glad I found this. RIP De!
This video and his Bill Shatner stories reminds me of Galaxy Quest.
Right?!
I love that movie 🤣
Iconic. I used to watch this show dubbed in Spanish with my grandma on it's first run. Everyone else in the family thought we were strange for liking a show with a man with pointy ears. We got it. Always in my heart.
A great man and a great actor. He was so strong in Star Trek...
What a dear dear man x
Truly.
What a wonderful, kind hearted man. Thanks for the upload. 🤗
Lovely film. A poet and an actor but most of all a nice man. Great character too.
Thank you for watching.
This was so wonderful to watch ..
Thank you for watching. It is great to re-experience through the eyes of new viewers like you.
Dee the man the myth the only McCoy there will ever be. Will be missed forever by all of us.
What a great guy man he was.
Humble and very appreciative..
The poems are just beautiful
