The next expansion is the USS FLAGG🔥
MOAR JOE! :D
Didn't you ever own the GI Joe headquarters toy when you were a kid? The backdrop is too make the base look more like a mini cardboard version of the toy. At least that's what it looks like to me. It's just for table presence/ cosmetics. Nice review, otherwise. :)
Nope never had that as a kid, but I know what it is. I just couldn’t figure out what the backdrop was for. The hangar they made had a physical interaction with the game, even if it wasn’t well thought out. But yeah, just seemed odd. Lol
It came for free with the preorder so I’m not upset about it. I see they sell the Bonus Box 1 for $10. If I paid 10 bucks for this, I’d be angry. 😂
So I got an official response from Renegade and what I did in the video is the intended use. It’s supposed to go around the new command center tiles. It just doesn’t go right up against it.
Yea that is a horrendous design
and it looks like we get the USS Flagg in the next release. It will be interesting if they also release the Terror Drome in some form as well.
@@lloydkochinka4257 I've been looking at the pre-order too, but I think you end up actually paying more. $45 pre-order with a "free" $10 upgrade vs. paying $25 for the release version +$10 for the upgrade.
Thank you for the video. This expansion is rather underwhelming unfortunately. They should have concentrated on either the Ninja OR Serpentor theme fully and fleshed it out. I think fans of the Joe movie would have loved to see Golobulus and those cheesy villains in a Serpentor expansion.
The game already can take a while, with cards flying about left, right and centre and less that perfect rules. Hence, the base building expansion probably isn't warranted just yet. The backdrop in the bonus box is totally useless - in a multiplayer game it could even hamper vision for some players - junk! And they could have included better bonus Joes, very disappointing.
I would have liked to see better Joes included in the expansion - some goods ones are here but many are ones we have barely heard of (where's Law & Order? Big Ben? Dusty?). It would have been nice to see the Crimson Guard and the Crimson Twins make an appearance earlier into this game set.
For me, the best card in this expansion seems to be Firefly (Villain) and Storm Shadow as a playable Joe. Might just wait to see if there's a sale on before I consider buying this.
For storage, I pack all the cards for the Gi Joe Deck together and place it into the biggest holder for that size of cards, then split the service rifles, Playable Joe Heroes, Cobra Cards, etc into the split holders.
As for those junk extras such as the hangar and backdrop, you could place them under the plastic tray if you don't intend to use them, but want to keep it altogether.
I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. I’ll give it a review once I get it to the table.
Putting the stuff under the tray is a good idea though.
