What i did on mine was build a solid foundation wood floor get 4 treated 11 ft 4x4 ,going from one side pole to another , get long screws to mount those legs deep into the 4x4 Add treated 2x4 to support the treated plywood … the weight from all the wood willl hold it down and when u store stuff on it is not going anywhere My tent also is on an open field - and windy area in NC its been 5 years and the only part that is degrading is the trap - Duct tape all the joints and use tap screw as reinforcement
I believe you are supposed to anchor the flap on the outside edge of the walls with something like sandbags or railroad ties so air doesn't have a chance to pick it up turning it into a sail...
That would be a good idea, but there isn't enough flap to fold over and do that. It went full sail the other day despite the ground ties and concrete blocks and stakes. It's trash now lol
Lag screwed it on 4 4x4’s connected by steel mending plates. Drove 4 ft rebar at the end of each 4x4. It’s windy where it’s located the amount of buffeting is similar to that in your video. I am currently using it for tractor storage. I should have a more permanent solution to house the tractor by the fall. In general, I would not put anything in this that would upset you if it collapsed. Good video
These are only good for shade of you put mesh tarps on it, at least for the sides, and the legs in cinder blocks too. You can also put like four 5 pound weight plates on the top resting on the tarp with a rope through them. Also get ones with steel frame, not aluminum.
Obviously. It was anchored with the materials provided and the instructions were followed. If you want one you have to find a different way to do it. But the mounting feet are small so it sucks trying to find a way on grass
Well if u put it together properly and then reinforcement some , not like a 9 year old putting together Legos lol . Take ur time and u should be good .
Thanks gus maybe one day I'll be as good of a putter upper of carports as you. A man can dream. Meanwhile there should be no need to reinforce a product with anything that does not come in the kit. The kit should include everything it needs and state its use in the instructions or at least state the additionals needed in the instructions.
@@outdoortradesman142well I guess u tried the best u can . U did buy Hf . But really everyone knows u always have to add some final touches to hf items . But we see some take longer to figure it out. But dont give up . U r on the right path
It survived the winter so far in case anyone is wondering. The concrete block anchors seem to work well
This is what I needed to know
Today, it blew away and destroyed itself. Despite my best efforts
Rip hf car port
Put 4x4 posts beside each leg and cement the 4x4 posts in the ground and strap the tent to the 4x4 posts checkout my video tfs

Aye !!! You think if you stuck a AC unit in it on a hot summer day it would work and hold the air ???
That’s probably fishful thinking
Mine so windy today and blow away. Will need whole day get it out and return 😂. Lucky I have protection plan
Are the anchors supposed to be on outside in the weather ?
The alternative is building a permanent structure. It’s basically spending $200 vs $2000.
It’s called a portable and temporary garage.

U didn't anchor it down good enough
