  • The man accused of murdering tech CEO Fahim Saleh in a New York apartment complex took the stand and gave a full confession to the brutal killing. Tyrese Haspil said he wore a plastic face shield with a baseball cap and sunglasses when he rode an elevator with Saleh in July 2020. Haspil outlined the entire attack for the jury inside a Manhattan courtroom. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner breaks it down.

Saleh was the founder and CEO of Gokada, among other ventures, before his tragic murder. Saleh was Haspil’s boss and a mentor of sorts. Haspil went into graphic detail about his brutal attack on Saleh, explaining he “tased him in the back” when he got off the elevator and “took out a knife” before stabbing him in the neck. The alleged killer went on to detail his motive, claiming he killed Saleh after stealing money from him so he wouldn't "have to pay him back.”

Right? How are they on the fence about this? He literally dressed up for the occasion, took weapons, and went to the building Saleh lived at. He then went back the next day to carry on where he left off. If he's convicted for a crime of passion, I would be shocked. He literally planned it, had time to really think about it, and did it anyway. How are they even entertaining the idea it was far less than premeditated?
I'm really hoping the jury doesn't screw this up for Saleh. The murderer deserves the maximum with how he decided to take another's life just because he wanted to keep his girlfriend and the lifestyle he stole. No amount of money or a relationship is worth what he took.
