@@nebularvoid4669 Maybe not the pitch shifting but layering and reverb definitely. 90% of metal bands have effects on the harsh vocals like compression, reverb, etc. Layering screams/growls is also very common. They need to go through _some_ kind of signal chain to sit above a mix properly.

I have a question: did you use this SM58 to record your voice? I planned to buy one for the same purpose but I was not shure (haha, get it?) of the quality for this type of voice... But I like its sound in your video :)
The SM58 is decent if you're not going to fiddle around with it too much after. If you're going to get a really good sound I'd recommend getting a large-diaphragm microphone, and possibly mix it with an SM57.

Moulk Get the SM58, seriously. It's the most versatile mic around. Great for vocals and instruments. Also if you remove the grill on the 58 you get an SM57, which is great for snares, guitar amps, horns, all sorts of things. I highly recommend it.

HeyKay47 I use the SM58 on other instruments with the grill still intact. Sounds good (like an _SM58_ on other instruments).
