With regard to "burning" the curry, Indian cooking does something very similar, but it is called "blooming." It enhances the curry flavor and makes it easier to blend into the sauce. If you actually burn the curry, it gives a very bitter taste to the dish. I have learned from experience...the best teacher I am told. 😄
Never understood people saying burning the curry prevents run belly when: 1) You don’t “burn” the curry that’s already on the meat 2) The meat is cooking for 2+ hours, trust me those spices in the curry powder are going to get cooked out in the cooking process, nobody is out here eating raw spices.
It's one of those things that has been repeated so much and passed down through generations that people just repeat it without questioning it - the reasoning may not make sense but the method works so no harm done in my opinion
@@wendyc5217 oh yes no harm indeed. For me the only benefit would be flavour, I’ve tried it both ways and I think it only marginally improves the flavour so not much difference. I’m certainly not one to tell people how to cook their food anyway especially something so minor, am I the one eating it? No 😂 It’s just as you say one of those things that is passed down, that to me doesn’t make much sense. But indeed, no harm, love and let live.
You could also add a few cuts of carrot and irish potato to simmer with the seasoning . Also, hold the handle of the pot to prevent it from spinning on the stove. Good warch!
Great idea, I normally do add Irish. But not a big fan of carrots in curry. At that time in the video it was me holding the camera and stirring the pot. 😁
Pepper is not a seasoning- of course you can add it but I prefer to add it afterwards- I make my dishes so everyone can enjoy and not everyone can do spicy
Not bad . But not authentic country style. When you burning the curry, you must add garlic and ginger to the oil and curry at this point to create the ultimate flavor . Lot of people don't know this. Use green Scotchy to limit the heat. And no potatoes in curry goat. Don't where that come from.
There is a new one up now with the garlic. If you want it spicy you just have to add a bell pepper in the curry. Don't burst it just let it boil in the sauce
@@Amber_Leaf51 this is what you personally do and the video is what I personally do and how I could. This method I cook I have not got 1 complaint about the taste of the food I cook. You'll burn it if you don't maintain a medium heat yes. If you always cooking on high you will burn the curry. I don't constantly cook on high I turn it down.
This is a vey poor recipe for curry goat. Not thought through properly and not authentic. There was no black pepper, no fresh garlic, no scotch bonnet pepper, no pimento and the piece of thyme looked like it was a year old. Never tell people to burn the curry - if you burn the curry it will make the curry bitter. You can fry it gently for a few seconds before adding the meat. You should have also suggested that the meat should marinate overnight in the refrigerator or for at least a couple of hours. Jamaicans dont cook curry straight after marinating like that. Not a recipe for people to follow.
I cook my food so everyone can have it. You can change up the recipe to add the pepper to it. Never everyone can handle spice. And I've had no issues or complaints the way I do curry, just compliments
Not everyone can eating spicy. I make my videos for everyone. If you want it spicy you add the pepper to the wet marinade. My wife doesn't eat spicy. It is authentic, I'm from Jamaica you add the spice while your eating it, you don't cook with it.
Your more than welcome to add the scotch bonnet pepper, you can also add hot sauce afterwards. But i make videos for everyone and that even means for the people qho vannot handle spicy. Thanks for the comment

EXACTLY. Burning curry only necessary for things that cook quick like shrimp where the curry doesn’t cook long enough.

It's a delicious recipe. Your more than welcome
Nice
Thanks
Thanks for sharing. Do you have the seasoning brand name and specific ones used in the video you can share?
I use beta pac curry, and the rest is from cool running or graces.
How is this the first time I've seen this. I've been looking for a delicious curry goat for a long time. Thank you!!!!
Make sure to try this and leave feed back
Looks great. Can't find cool runnings seasoning in England though :(
Any brand of seasonings can be used
Use Goya Adobo with pimento. Use real garlic , ginger , onion and thyme. Don't use too much powdered seasoning
Yes Henry
Thank u I will be uploading more content every Saturday please please on watching and share please
Thank you so much.
I will make this today. Gonna be my 1st time cooking goat myself. Wish me luck 🤞🏽🙂
All the best of luck

Fresh garlic and pimentos berries,
He very nice
??
You must add irish potato and Masala to the curry goat, also carrot and scotch barnett pepper. To get the best taste.

A damp paper towel under the board prevents it from sliding. Good video.
Mmmmmm you look delicious I mean the curry 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

This brudda Marco Pierre Black

If you don't burn this specific curry, we call it run belly because it will make your belly run/upset stomach
Irish fi stretch de food Taste good doh 😁
Mi see people ah put ketchup inna curry weh de ratid dat come from 🤦🏾♀️🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
@@chefhenrykitchen what about the curry that was on the meat?
Don’t be shy
I didn't see any pepper or garlic used

@@chefhenrykitchen ...u mean scotch bonnet not bell pepper.
@@Amber_Leaf51 he obviously haven't a clue. It's a disgrace.
Love curry goat rice 🍚 peas and dumplings 🥟
Thank you please share my videos so your family can enjoy this too
Looks great but....no potatos?😮
Youre more than welcome to add in the potatoes, I was just focusing on the seasoning more.
Where's the water and coconut milk
Where is the SECRET sir!!?? Am puzzled
All seasonings and the proper way to cook the curry goat

Yvonne Gutrhrie Iam saying the same thing to him no ready
I was wondering too
There's alot of things missing??
Like
A LOT OF THINGS MISSING FROM YOUR CURRY GOAT, YOUR CURRY GOAT DON'T LOOK APPETIZING 🐐
Alot of my friends and family have assured me, this is one of the best tasting goat.
Sandra Green you are so right a lot of things missing from that goat him not ready 😂
Same thing I said
The gravey look watery too.

Yes you are right
The less u have the better
No scotch Bonnet pepper this is not authentic food
This is a perfect recipe for me and my family as I have a tolerance to spicy food. I get enjoy the flavour that I love without the hot.
100%

So goat just takes an hour to cook?
Honion
???
The secret is use Jamaican curry
What's the secret, or where's the secret??? Where's the Irish potato??,. And scotchbonnet peppers,

every video you put Bell pepper
Yes add flavour to the food. Not in every video though
Not in an hour it's not
Sorry my friend but that is no secret every body knows it only some people do t have the time to be bothered
It is a secret for people trying to cook it for the first time
Nothing new that you show us🙄👎
Just because something isn't new to you, doesn't mean it isn't new to other people. Don't like the video dont watch and keep scrolling.
Thank u
May not be new to you, but someone how hasn't experience Jamaica or the cultural food from Jamaica, it would be new to them. Thanks for the comment 👍🏾
Someone who cuts the onion like that is no chef😅😅😅 not a cook too. Sorry ill pass it
What does having to cut an onion have to do with a delicious recipe… nothing. In the end it’s the taste that matters not how you cut an onion.
People cut onions differently- your passing on food because of how someone cuts onions? That sounds like a foolish comment
Beta pac curry is wot u shud use for yr curry goat its defo the best out there
