This went right over my head when I was a kid but watching it as an adult and that impression of Burton doing Mark Antony. Lmao! Fantastic! “Do ‘Where Eagles Dare’!” Lol!!
Even when I didnt know who Richard Burton was or his portrayal of Marc Anthony,I thought Mr.Murrays depict in this scene was hilarious-thought I might be the only one, glad I was wrong. And it's STILL funny more than 10 years later.
A wonderful scene with four great actors. Other than Murray, that's Michael J. Pollard, Logan Ramsey, and Anne Ramsey (in her last performance). You may notice Pollard is holding a pocket watch that plays "Jingle Bells" ("Cocktail hour: drink for Mr. Richard Burton!"). Burton died a horrible death from decades of alcoholism. Later in the film, Murray's character sees that, partially from his neglect, Pollard's character has frozen to death (courtesy of an Oscar-nominated makeup job by Tom and Bari Dreiband Burman), yet his pocket watch chimes still, heralding the arrival of the fearsome Ghost of Christmas Future.
Pollard played Cousin Virgil on The Andy Griffith Show and CW in Bonnie and Clyde. Ramsey was in the original Walking Tall with Joe Don Baker. Did not know this was Anne's last performance. Bill Murray is terrific as always
He played Billy the Kid once. If you've never seen it, it's worth the time. It centers on his time in, oh Missouri or maybe Kansas. He was only 14 I think. It's a brutal film for the time.
The Sandpiper!......brings a smile every time.....there is a reason why in the movie Zombieland, Woody Harrelson calls him "The King"........in my book this IS the classic Christmas movie
The way he drinks that wine lol. I'm gonna try that one time. Okay reedit, it was his rant when he goes in the shelter. And plus those three are probably drunk af. lol No wonder why they mistake him.
this is the line he is saying: "l am Mark Anthony... "Oh, no, do all...Abyssinia. You know... "..fall of Cheops... By thee I foreswear." with some mixed in jibberish
Herman was such a sad soul and nobody helped him Frank Cross was an asshole to him b/c he didn't give him the 2.00 bucks and Herman might have had a chance but he froze himself and hid away from society because he went some place else and didn't stay with Claire because Claire changed when Frank said "You wanna save someone save yourself!" She turned mean and selfish like Frank Cross when in the beginning she was good hearted and caring and she changed! This was all the future and how someone's wicked ways can influence other people to do the same! I would have taken care of Herman this movie came out when I was 11 and it still gets me when I see Herman alone abandoned and frozen to death because no one cared for him. This is the world were living in now! Nobody cares! Frank Cross was to blame for all of this even Calvin he was in a state hospital. This movie came out in 1988 and now everything has turned to shit! Scrooged predicted some of the future events that happened too when you think about it! Christmas isn't fun anymore its depressing sad.

Me too. I nearly piss my pants everytime I see it.
Homeless people sharing what little they had with Frank...😔
R.I.P Logan Ramsey (1921-2000) and Anne Ramsey (1929-1988) I'm gonna miss you both.
Were they related?
@@HC-cb4yp Absolutely. They were married until Anne's death of esophageal cancer in 1988. It's very sad news in the late 80's.

Michael Pollard ( 1939- 2019) RIP.
R.I.P. Michael J. Pollard; May 30, 1939 - November 21, 2019

HEY YOU GUYS! HA HA HA! GOONIES BEST 80s MOVIE HANDS DOWN! I LOVE WHEN SHE GETS THROWN IN THE WATER!
Her last movie sadly 🙁
I see her as Momma from throw momma from the train.
She must be friends with Richard Donner, who directed this and The Goonies.

Is that the lady who played in throw momma from the train
As a kid, I didn't really get it. As an adult, it makes perfect sense: Bill Murray does look like Richard Burton!
That old lady used to give me nightmares.
Night of the Iguana! 😂😂😂
Scrooge was never that kind before the 3 Visits. Early Scrooge would never ever do it for Eva. Cross is *DA MAN!*
Remember you all had everything good in this life and the others has everything bad

They got jokes
Three people down-liked this video!
They must hate dogs as well.
So great!!! What the heck was the booze he pretended to drink?
Nothing...just booze but he didnt want to put his mouth where they drank
Some sort of fortified wine, maybe Ripple, though you can see the bottle is filled with water.
so fucking funny!!!

This scene only makes sense for boomers but...since I was raised on classics I know exactly who he is spoofing and Bill look ALOT like Richard burton
0:37 0:58
Ha...he listed one of Burton's past works as "Exodus II" when he means "The Exorcist II: The Heretic."
I honestly thought he did say "Exorcist II" and obviously he did say "The Night of the Iguana"
He said Excorcist two.
Is that Momma Fratelli?
Yep, and the taller guy across from her is her husband, also an actor.
Booze in the homeless shelter?
Kept it hidden I expect
What was the booze he pretended to drink?
