What a great film. The concept is simple, but the message is transcendent - this is the type of film you can watch and your mood absolutely improves, your aspirations magnify, and your sense of wisdom grows. As you follow Phil through his journey, you can't help but mature alongside him, looking forward to tomorrow, and realising what really is important.
I had neck surgery and had to be in rehab for 2 weeks. Because of this movie, I called the rehab experience "Groundhog Day" since they put you on a schedule that repeats every day with therapy sessions, meals at exactly the same time, and nurses saying the same stuff every day to patients. It drove me NUTS!!!!!!!!

My wife & I were married on GROUNDHOG DAY way before the movie came out, but we celebrate it every year anyway. In a way, our life is just like the movie...CRAZY! One of my favorite movies.
Bill Murray, in my view, is a silver screen comedy legend...up there in status with the likes of Buster Keaton, W.C. Fields, Grouchy Marx, and Woody Allen. A pioneer.
I consider Feb 2 a personal holiday, more important than any birthday, because of this film. Nice job with the clips! It's nearly impossible to condense this classic in any way!
I heard this movie is used in philosophy and ethics classes and such. It was acclaimed worldwide as a movie that was transcendential to all faiths and cultures. It make a strong case for personal belief and realisation and understanding community etc.. it really is a good movie.
Im in one of those classes right now 😊. I just did a report on this movie. Oh, and i also learned he was stuck in his time loop for nearly 34 years! (I learned that from google, not the class, lol)
It's looks good I just love it so much it's looks like new DVD releases review history books documentary about biography book club in movie theater in new 🆕 picture awards TCM hollywood netflix original version very well very much so much it's looks
Phil punching Ned with a smile was too funny, honorable mention goes to Phil saying "don't mess with me Porkchop" & the scene with Phil on live TV "There is no way this winter is EVER going to end... and I have to stop him (groundhog)" Rick Ducommun was great in this film, "I suspect your a half glass empty type of guy" and drunk guy to drunk guy assessment "ok your good" and immediately his friend falls to ground after he lets him go 🤣 , the whole drunk car scene was too much, love when Ralph laughs at himself when Gus tells Phil "if we wanted to hit mailboxes we could let Ralph drive" 🤣 So Hillarious when the drunk men realize how crazy Phil is after getting off the railroad tracks and Phil is laughing "I'm not going to live by their rules anymore", just when you thought Ralph was the craziest guy in the car and of course ordering food from the cop to top it off, BEST SCENE IN MOVIE, a non stop laugh on the entire car chase
I like how Alice the waitress is told about herself by a complete stranger and she doesn't find that creepy as she smiles and says "he's right!" 😆 4:00
There is only one scene I wish could have been added in the movie. Phil should have tried to stay awake the whole night, staring at the clock from minute to minute. Then we would have known exactly what time it was that the day was reset.
Ive always imagined even if he stays up till 5:59 am... Once 6:00am hits, he's just hearing the alarm again, same old 😢. He'll remember everything up till 5:59am, but the loop just goes around again.
Ned Ryerson, I dated your sister Mary Pat until you told me not to anymore. I didn’t watch these clips …but that’s one of my most favorite lines in this movie!
I am very surprised this iconic Bill Murray comedy is thirty this year! Also, this may interest some of you; In the scene where Murray's Phil Connors tells Andie MacDowell's Rita he's a god and starts introducing her to the people he knows in the café, when you come up 3:23, on the right, you will see, playing Debbie, a much younger Hynden Walch (the voice of fellow Teen Titan Starfire and Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum herself). Truce.
The movie shows a person stuck in a time loop, but, my opinion is, it is a person with mental health issues. Stuck on life's treadmill, not being able to get off. Stinking to day to day repetition, but only yourself can change the way you think and feel.
The only thing that puzzled me about this movie was that Phil was pretty much a jerk throughout the entire movie, a big one at times, so how is it that this jerk wins in the end ?
2:50 Because, i want "You" are believing me! "Your are not a god, this is 12 Years Catholics school TALKING...! Endless loop Apocalypse now....more cookies?
It's actually not an opinion. EoT is based on All You Need Is Kill, and the author has said he researched a lot of time-loop fiction, including Groundhog Day.
Great movie. Definitely has that "Back To The Future" vibe to it.

"Don't mess with me, porkchop!"😅😅😅😅 What a quality line!!
For a movie where a character is trapped in time, the movie itself is timeless and not dated at all.
Still love this film , watch it every winter without fail 👍😊👍
I love this movie so much! Happy 30 years, Groundhog Day!

I think that might be overstating the significance of this movie just a tad.😊
Прекрасная история, прекрасные актёры. И радость и светлая грусть.
Do you have de'jour vous, Mrs Lancaster?
Let me check in the kitchen.... 😁😁😁
"Ever have deja vu, Mrs. Lancaster?"
"I don't know but I could check with the kitchen."
Actually "deja vu" or "already seen"
Perfect casting, the film called for an obnoxious jerk and they got one. OTOH that makes Phil's redemption one of the greatest pieces of acting ever.
In fact, he's so good at the part I can't convince myself he's not faking it at the end.
It had been 30 years since "Groundhog Day" was released in movie theaters.
Just saw that the Groundhog saw his shadow six more weeks of Winter❄️🤬😂
Happy Groundhog Day!
I have to watch this movie again every 5 years or so
Imma start saying "don't mess with me Porkchop"
Because of the diner scene, I always have to have pancakes when I watch this movie.
The legend actor from ghostbusters 😱!
Yes I am. I was the slime
The legend actor from many iconic roles to be fair.
The Last scene makes live worth living!
She is startlingly beautiful
Happy Groundhog Day! Bill Murray was the perfect choice to star as the cynical weatherman who learns to be a better person thanks to a time loop!

There is only one scene I wish could have been added in the movie. Phil should have tried to stay awake the whole night, staring at the clock from minute to minute. Then we would have known exactly what time it was that the day was reset.
At six am, the same time as he wakes up. It's revealed during a scene with Rita

I wonder just how long he was trapped in that same day?.
10,000 years
I saw a video that broke down how long it would take to learn the piano, French, everything about everybody etc.
Super!
Best part? You had to upload all the movie.

The big question is how long he relived that day? One , ten ,twenty years?
