- Here it is folks! Hello and welcome to The One Million Subscriber Special! Let me take another opportunity to say thank you once more for helping me to reach such an incredible milestone. I doubt that I’ll ever be able to repay the debt that I owe to each of you, but hopefully this video goes some way to making that gesture.
Now if you’re thinking of commenting, I’d appreciate it if you’d take a few seconds to read through a few points I’d like to make, since I know that as always there are likely to be plenty of people with questions. As well as some who may be disappointed, upset or just unhappy with what I did to mark the occasion.
First, just bear in mind that this being a one million subscriber land mark video; the hype that comes with that notion means it was always likely to underwhelm people to some degree. What I wanted to do was to explore something I’d never done before, which I thought would engage as many people as possible and make for an entertaining video.
Second, to the people who are disappointed that it’s not ‘The One Million Calorie Challenge’, ‘200,000 Calorie Challenge’ or even a reattempt of The 100,000 Calorie Challenge in 100 hours that I tried all those years ago. Please try to consider that if like me you make UA-cam videos for over five years, not only does the type of content you make change, but your mentality and responsibilities change too.
One of the reasons I very rarely do ‘cheat days’ or ‘calorie challenges’ these days is because, quite simply, I don’t enjoy them. They’ve been done to death. I find them difficult to appreciate, and as a result difficult to turn into a cohesive, entertaining video which people can have fun watching. That being said, people often ask for them, so I try to do them from time to time for special occasions etc. but never at the expense of other videos I have planned. Moreover, with time not only has my content changed, my personal and professional responsibilities have too. So whereas many years ago I could dedicate 100 hours of filming and just as many in editing to one video, now I simply can’t given what I have to do in my day to day life as a 35 year old.
Finally, whether you enjoy the video or hate it. At the very least, please accept that the idea I came up with and tried to execute was born out of the desire to do something most people would enjoy. That is to say, something which involves the subscribers that got me to where I am. So whether you like or loath it; know that I did my best and with the best intentions. Of course there are things I would change to improve it, but again keep in mind that filming something this ambitious, as a one man band with no filming crew etc. is no easy task. Especially when so much of the concept of the video is outside of the creator’s control.
As I mentioned at the end of the video, I’m taking a week off now. Doing what I do, and doing it in a way different to which many other similar creators do it, is of course very physically demanding. And I promised myself some time ago a week off to rest, rejuvenate and of course plan for future. So there’ll be no mid-week video, but you can rest assured I’ve got something for you this time next Sunday at 7pm BST as always.

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' video.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

When I was a kid in the 90s I don't recall the UK having so much American food when I would visit. Like lunchables, oreos, 5 guys etc. It was far more national.
We've had lunchables since the 90s I think but pretty sure it was late 90s so maybe here before it. It's actually one of the things that translates well for British taste buds unlike much of your sweet stuff. Like we think your chocolate is awful with a couple of exceptions like Oreos but bars of chocolate no thanks but yhea the explosion of fast food places, especially out side London which obviously got them much earlier than anywhere else, has been huge.

What's amazing is when you look at the calorie count 20 mins in and its already above 5000 and that's what people normally eat during the day, every day without even realising how many calories they're putting into their system. Thanks Adam for all your entertaining vids and congrats on the 1 million. You may not have set out to do this, but you were one of the people that inspired me to look carefully at what I was eating and educate myself on what was in the food I was putting in my body. There's no way 5000 calories is common, Im a big dude and I take in maybe 3500 on an unnecessary amount of food and a few beers
@@Sporacle I didn't say it was everybody, just that it was easy to get without realising it. I used to work in a kitchen for 10 hour shifts with a 25 min break and I would just not be in the mood to make anything myself when I was finished and would go to the McDonalds around the corner after work for a milkshake and 3 or 4 double cheeseburgers. That's 2000 calories in one meal and you'd be hungry again in a couple hours. You maybe get a takeaway kebab and that can be 2000 on its on too. Add in the chocolate bars, the sodas, the frappucinos from starbucks and it's scary how easy it is to get over the 5000 calories a day, besides I wasn't talking about the quantity of food, mainly the quality. You get a breakfast meal from McDonalds, maybe a couple chocolate bars or crisps to get you through to lunch, where you go out again to another joint. Then you get home and you're tired so you order takeaway.....it all adds up. And I just wasn't looking at the calories or what I was eating.

Beardman. For the two million, you should do a multi country eating adventure over a day or two. Example Döner in Berlin, pizzas in Naples, fries in Brussels , schnitzels in Vienna, Boeuf Bourguignon In Paris. You get the idea.
