I got that Chun Li Kitsune recently. My first hitbox. Super pricey but man its beautiful. And the best part is the sound (or lack thereof) and feel of the buttons.
Stick is always the way for motion input fighting games for me. Even if it’s “suboptimal”, it just feels way more visceral piloting characters on stick.
Honestly I'd recommend trying it out. Been a SF player for like 20 years and I decided to just jump off the deep end. There is an adjustment period but it really did make my execution way more consistent
I actually think he's saying Pianalist lol. And I was amused seeing the CC say "farter" instead of farther, but then I realized he actually is just saying farter lol.
I never played on an arcade so I'm not used to levers, and I was a long time console player. But right now I prefer keyboard as my main controller, i feel my inputs are more accurate and faster to press, however 360 and tiger knee inputs are harder to pull.
If you haven't tried it yet, try having your jump button on your right hand, not left. So u can press jump and attack button with the same hand. Makes 360 WAAY easier.
No lie, I modded my rockband guitar to use a foot pedal for star power with the drum pedal. I have seriously debated modding my series x controller to do the same.
Would work for maybe 20 minutes and then either sweat would make it slippery/uncomfortable af, or your fingers would turn to dust from the friction. Similar problem with mobile gaming
Speaking of comfort i used to get cramps on my joystick lever hand but ever since switching to leverless it's been so much more comfortable, turns out constant motions on your wrist are bad for you (yes its a joke im aware of RSI)
idk im going to buy a arcade stick just because it seems more fun to me to move my arm and fingers than just my finger in a joystick or a button (also im trash at fighting games so i dont look for competitive advantage lol)
I have about 9 different hitbox/lever less controllers in my house. Help me. I have an addiction. Side note if anyone needs advice on what to buy, let me know
What’s your favorite? I’ve been thinking about trying it but the layouts look cramped for lower costs options. Have been thinking about a Keebbrawler 01 since the layout is more spread out.
i am interested in getting another controller besides pad too, was thinking about stick or leverless but didnt know which and where to start. especially with the price point
I can imagine Leverless and probably also Pad being slightly more optimal than an arcade stick for most games. I wouldnt be surprised to see less and less joysticks on tournements in the future. However, I wouldnt call them fossils and I dont see them dying out, because they feel the best and most immersive. Pad only has tensy tiny buttons and depad. On Leverless you only have buttons its like you are operating a Spaceship but like a bad spaceship because why wouldnt there be a Lever? Only with Arcade Stick you get a nice jucy stick where you feel you are moving your charcter, becoming one with your charecter. Motion inputs carty a sort of momentum. And of course you have big buttons for big attacks not tiny buttons you press with your thumb Like on pad. I think many people like me dont care about the optimal controler. Playing SF6 only 2 hours per day and not maining any of the Top 10 chars is already suboptimal why should people like me care to ever switch to leverless?
I’ve never really been a stickless hater but after hearing you say the lever is a fossil it gave me a really bad taste in the leverless world because I realized that’s a common attitude in the FGC lol idk man, LEVER FOR LIFE
Actually it is a fossil lol, sry its just that old. Its not to offend people, its just a fact. Im an arcade boi all my life and played in my local arcade when i was in my teens and was a regular. Roughly for 10+ years or so including my experience with lever. The problem is my wrist started to have problems and leverless fixes that issue. Switching to leverless fixed some directional input errors and tough wrist maneuvers. it also is a lot faster since your wrist dont need to move to neutral and move to the next directional input. Lever is an outdated controller, and that's the truth.
@@SlaineReigns obviously it’s old, it’s a tradition. I myself have been using a lever for over 24 years. It’s a tradition that will never die, it’s not “outdated” and stickless is not the future, it’s just an option. Like I said I have no hate but I have a distaste for the “levers are no good” culture, in Japan where the heart of fighting games is, lever is still king along with Korea and even Pakistan where legends are growing even more than ever before. It will always be king. Stickless, like the PlayStation controller, XBOX or hori and mad catz fight pads is just another option for people who can’t master the stick or whose hands are not able to use them for long periods or for people who just want to try something new to make the experience alil more easier. FGC is an open and interchangeable community and it always will be. So…..remember. LEVER IS KING.
Justin's point about getting long-term strain issues from using leverless is kinda bad faith? Literally any repeated motions of any kind if done constantly enough will result in injury and degredation. I started playing leverless specifically because of RSI caused by stick in my left wrist. I think the key is taking care of your body and listening to the signals that you should take a break, not "this controller will result in better health".
Yea it prolly depends on how long you play, after like 2 to 3 hours of a fighting game my hands are kinda tired whether I use pad or levelers. Taking breaks is important. Now if you playing like 8 hours a day everyday, you prolly get issues regardless what you use.
Leverless controllers are a neat novelty but stick is simply how fighting games are meant to be played. You're really missing out on the experience without a stick.
This whole hitbox/1000 buttons controller/footpedal crap fever is what is ruining the game to people that have been playing the game with 6 buttons and 8way joystick since the early 90's. You gotta have all of these crap controllers because even if you are a good player you are still disadvantaged from people that use these stuff.
Been really enjoying Fighting Game Select, props to you Kizzie for keeping it going and everyone else for helping out

Justin really just said "pee analyst" lmao
Right?
I'm new to the genre, but I love this community
Commenting on every video requesting Makoto’s BBCF combo trials, video 44.
Keep fighting the good fight
I see you , keep the good work
Praying for you brother
Stay strong and comment on.
Can you make a shopping guide got all toes off controllers? Holliday season yah know.
I got the OG lever-less controller: a keyboard lol
same
Glad I finally watched this video (I missed it initially), had no clue about the Mavercade devices, they look super comfy
Stick is always the way for motion input fighting games for me. Even if it’s “suboptimal”, it just feels way more visceral piloting characters on stick.
Being an old time Arcade junkie, it's tough to wrap my mind around leverless. I should try it at some point 😂
Honestly I'd recommend trying it out. Been a SF player for like 20 years and I decided to just jump off the deep end. There is an adjustment period but it really did make my execution way more consistent
@@MrBones105 I'll do some more research! Thanks, it's great to hear from other people who have been playing a long time and made the plunge.
same vewlix stick for me
Justin calling them "piano-ists" is so based
Pianist just sounds like you're saying "penis" 9/10 times
I actually think he's saying Pianalist lol. And I was amused seeing the CC say "farter" instead of farther, but then I realized he actually is just saying farter lol.
I'm left handed and that's still the hand that I get cramps in. It makes sense, that's the hand that you are using to move and to do motion inputs.
Shootout to mavercade , they do nice case for custom project too

Someone please tell Justin about Hori Mini. It's a stick and it's small, cheap and my first stick. I love it!
He knows about it and they covered it in a previous video.

@@DPL58 I meant try using your attack button hand for jump
Sorry, I assumed u used left hand for movement and right for attack.
The foot pedal is godlike
No lie, I modded my rockband guitar to use a foot pedal for star power with the drum pedal. I have seriously debated modding my series x controller to do the same.
Imagine an arcade controller but instead of a stick or buttons for the directions, it’s a trackpad that reads the motion of your finger
Would work for maybe 20 minutes and then either sweat would make it slippery/uncomfortable af, or your fingers would turn to dust from the friction. Similar problem with mobile gaming
stick for life son
Wait for the Qanba Sapphire Leverless.
what about the Frame1
Does Justin not realize that sticks are made large and heavy on purpose so it’s stable under the motion?
Whats the yuge white controller he is using in all of the gameplay footage? That spaced out layout looks sooooooo nice.
The glyph from satisfye. Looks amazing, actually how i found this video haha

If your blaming your losses on your opponent's controller, it's a skill issue.
You could have the best controller in the world and still be bad at the game
