Better look up Deep Six if you want the OGs of grunge, those are the 1st 6 to be classified as "grunge". Soundgarden, U-Men, Malfunkshun, Melvins, Green River and Skin Yard are the grandfathers of this genre.
it makes so much of a difference when the band is enjoying themselves-every one in this cast is exceptional and likes what there doing,Ive liked perry since Pornos but not too much compares to these guys as a whole
@TheNebakanezer Public opinion doesn't outweigh facts. Punk had THE BIGGEST influence on the late 80's-early 90's alternative scene. Punk had THE BIGGEST influence on Jane's addiction. Read "Our Band Could Be Your Life." Late 70's-early 80's American Punk rock had the most influence on all of those bands. Jane's Addiction, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, The Flaming Lips, Mudhoney, The Melvins, and Red Hot Chili Peppers were all influenced by punk.
i would but i wasn't the one that won the tickets my friend did even thou he used my cell to call and if i didn't tell him to he wouldn't of won but oh well he doesn't want to sell them and he wants to go so i guess im going to have to go
@TheNebakanezer What about Black Flag, Circle Jerks, X, The Germs, Adolescents, and Minutemen? All of those bands came before JA. JA were influenced by all of those bands. Even the "grunge" and alternative bands site early 80's hardcore punk as an influence. No. Jane's Addiction was not the first influential band in the LA music scene and they certainly did not pave the way for every alternative and grunge band. Look, I love JA, but your statement is so fucking wrong.
LOL top 40 hits do not make a band. They were far more popular for their songs that were played on MTV and the Alternative radio stations at the time. Been Caught Stealin is probably the least like them I can imagine.
jane's addiction one of the most original and creative rock bands ever (from 87-91, leastways) there was a spark of genius in them
one of the best song that i ever heard
This rules!!!! So many memories come to mind when I hear this song. Excellent!!!
So thankful this song exists!
See them live! it's literally a party with the band and the whole crowd. truly an amazing experience.
red wine for life
i saw JA support NIN at T in the Park Festival in scotland last summer and it was the highlight of my festival. deffo. :)
Great live performance!
I absolutely love the percussion on this tune. Everything in this song is very cool. I don't even mind the bottle.

unlike most 1 hit wonders
I agree!!!!
♥♥♥♥
I'm there
Farrell is completely hammered which is why all they do is live off a couple of OLD songs.
where is it?
...wierd...this cracks me up, because perry bought that bass from me when I bailed on psycomm and gave it to eric...that bass got around...
That is NOT Eric.

Does anyone remember RHCP and Jane's Addiction in concert in the early 90s??
"Of Course" these are charting hits...
Do they use a drum machine for the kick?
Yes, this song has always used drum machine.

that whole band could collectively blow a 8.97 on the breathalyzer, haha

Fuji Rock Festival 2002
Not considered one of the original in grunge, you'd have to reference Deep Six which ARE considered the 1st grunge rockers.
lol? is that true?
i would but i wasn't the one that won the tickets my friend did even thou he used my cell to call and if i didn't tell him to he wouldn't of won but oh well he doesn't want to sell them and he wants to go so i guess im going to have to go
"It was"....trust me :-)
Perry u was so drunk!however this song's really great!

@jamilee007 chinbeards shouldn't exceed two inches
Jane's Addiction is definetly a 1 hit wonder. I know they have another song but I don't think it is good.

Heroin and booze. Always an iffy combo. Those gold pants Perry is wearing are ugly as hell. Hah. Oh well, Id like to see them live.
