one of the single greatest pieces of music ever written.. i have heard this song a million times and still get goosebumps.. i could hear it a million more, (and probably will..), and still get goosebumps..

.. as I was reading your reply, but before I did, I already had goosebumps. When they played in Bakersfield, Kali, btw .. I'm a Kali woman, but I couldn't go due to my man being employed in another country, but & that's a big butt, next time I'm/we're going to be there with,"bells on our toes!"

Perry's pupils are as big as the black spots on the peacock feathers he was wearing in his hair. There is so much passion towards the end of this performance it brings tears to my eyes! I grew up with Janes and used to listen to "Ritual de lo Habitual" when I was riding my bike at 5am delivering newspapers on cassette with my walkman, it was otherworldly.

Drugs don’t work, after some time. This was the “relapse” tour aptly named. Dave and Perry had relapsed on heroin. Still in the honeymoon phase where it’s working and this performance is sublime. Flea was traumatized by the hard drugs…. Peppers muse was sobriety. Jane’s muse was h and c.

Possibly one of the greatest shows of all time by anyone. Perfect sets, perfect crowd, perfect vibe, perfect night...Last minute change of Halloween plans, friend called and asked if I wanted to see Jane's Addiction at the Hammerstein for "Some MTV event"..."Oh hell yes, " said I, jumped the train and within one hour we had liftoff. @@talkinghead22 It's where she got high, how she got high and with them of which she did. In the hotel room. Perhaps she was a prostitute as well. That's my vague impression I've always had from that song.

They hold your key and turn your knob.
To me, it's the way some people can treat outsiders with more importance than the ones closest to them in order to keep a facade or to please someone other than yourself. The nameless dwell and coerce you to do things and not pay attention to the named in your life. Until one day, the named are gone and all you have is the nameless and your life is shallow and without real feelings

I always wondered who this song was about and I just found out on another site, it's about xiola blue's accidental overdose and subsequent death who was Perry Farrels lover at some point, in the final verse he's asking her to pay a visit to his mother (who committed suicide) in heaven. I also found out the guitarist lost his mother when her boyfriend murdered her. Also, this song and at least the song 3 days were written well before the release of Nothing's Shocking. I found all this out in the comments section in the other feed, as someone pointed out, no wonder they did so much heroin. Very sad, but a fantastic band I was lucky enough to catch twice in Bristol in the UK in very small venues, superb on both occasions.

Amazing song! The lyrics are sad as they draw a parallel between the overdose death of Perry's friend Xiola Bleu, and the suicide of his mother when he was very young:
"Will you say hello to my ma?
Will you pay a visit to her?
She was an artist just as you were

Perry emotes with his voice like Hendrix did with his guitar...no one could match his melody, power and creativity within the use of his voice

My fave Janes track ever, and this version is pretty insane. Apparently on this tour Dave used to keep several loaded works on stage and would shoot up periodically while Perry was engaged with the crowd. Not condoning their hard drug use but they made some amazing music during their junkie period.

Amazing song. Restrained beauty but there's tension at the edge of each beat which can explode into chaos and emotion any time soon.
