  • A Stealth Burner tool changer system for Voron 2.4 and Trident.
This project was inspired by [Stealthchanger](github.com/Ste..., [TapChanger](github.com/vie..., and [Voron-Tap](github.com/Vor....
This is an update from the initial prove of concept video.
Apologies for all the abrupt cuts and audio changes, I stumble too often to have a continuous recording, some of the audio had to be rerecorded with a different mic.
The current plan for the project is:
    1. Get the software up and running, which will be a fork of tapchanger's config (on GitHub).
    2. Test the dock/un-dock performance and mechanism durability.
    3. Second tool-head and wiring.
    4. Release the first version to GitHub.

super cool, love the gantry mounted dock, love that it eliminates the z travel time for a tool change, and it seems like it would be easy to effectively remove the system if you're only using one tool

Are you powering the Tool Head via what looks like to be PogoPins in the Carrier? If so, I'd suggest making the change of Powering them via the Umbilical instead as otherwise, you'll not be able to preheat a still stored away Tool Head prior to picking it up while still in the process of storing away the currently attached one thus saving a lot of downtime.

Plus high power levels over a pogo pin is a potential fire hazard. If the connection is not properly made it will start heating and arcing.

I've noticed you're using contact pins for the Heater/fans/thermistor. Just a few questions. Once it disengages from the system won't it cause an error because the thermistor is not connected?
Also, For multi-color/multi-material... Won't this make the hotend fan stop working while the hotend is still hot? Causing Heat creep and possible clogs?
Overall looks INSANE. Please update us soon!

the pogo pins are only for the tap sensor, everything else is connected through the canbus umbilical. Therefore, everything on the toolhead works as normal regardless of whether it is dock or not.

Does the dock interfere with the doors closing?

no, the default doors works just fine.

It is something I am interested in, but I will need to get the rest of the system up and running first.

      I got another project that needs an ABS-capable & multi-material 3d printer.
