Restoration: Veneer Repair-Lifts-Moisture Damage - How to FIX
Вставка

- This is a tiger oak veneer over pine drawer front that was somehow exposed to moisture and the bottom edge delaminated where the veneer was under stress due to being bent over an ogee shape. Part of the repair is not shown where I used a clothes iron to smooth out and reattach the only flat surface at the top. The damage resulting in many missing pieces was almost certainly caused by closing the drawer as the veneer hung up on the bottom rail. Overall, it is a nice early 20th Century Empire Revival style constructed of mainly quarter sawn oak, even the drawer sides. The drawer bottom is plywood thus dating the piece to the early 1900's. The legs, etcetera, are solid oak. This is known as a 2-legged commode.
The usual nicks, dents and chips were taken care of along the way. Any comments are certainly welcome and I read them all and respond when called for.
And thank you to my new subscribers! Please give me a thumbs up if you got anything out of this. That's how videos make the recommended for view list. - Навчання та стиль
You're the veneer guru!!!
Maybe the veneer gluru. Thank you.
Just subscribed!
Thanks!
Gosh, Zeke... What could be more beautiful than beautiful wood beautifully enhanced? I like relaxing music, but in my opinion, just watching you work and listening to you speak is the relaxing part. Any music is something extra to absorb. Again, what an exquisite offering from a precious tree!!! ...Barry
Well, I'm 0 for 2 on the music. I need to fix something. Thank you.
Very impressed by your work! Cheers from Australia
G'day and thank you!
Great video!
One of my favorites.
Well done
Thank you. That one was for me, it lives in the hallway.
Good job 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Is the detail pencil you use just a normal Prismacolor!?
Wood filler pen. Thanks for watching.
Love videos - it’s hard to hear you using music. Video would be better without it. Thomas Johnson Antique Restoration never uses music.
Thanks for the info. On this end the music is set at -20dB. I don't know why it would be that loud. I'll look at it signed out.
@@OddJobFix I guess it’s more distracting than too loud
I enjoyed the music in background
@@bobwhelk2117 I finally watched this on my phone and you're right! It's not what I intended. It doesn't do that (louder and softer) on a desktop or pad. Thanks for the heads-up.
