been a year or 2 since i've heard this one, still the best self generative ambient patch by mother 32 out there
also tnx for sharing the patch itself!
Gorgeous. I would buy this if released.
Its absolutely amazing how everything its being generated by only one machine
sounds and looks so good
Good composition and thanks for including your notes...It helps my own learning process.
Beautiful ✨✨✨
I love this. Thanks for putting it out there.
OMG - I LOVE THIS!! SOOOO AWESOME!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for the patch notes! I'm going to try it now on my own Mother-32!! 🙂
Great Patch! Thx for sharing
Fantastic. Something is alive in there.
Fantastic stuff
I thoroughly enjoyed this piece! Well done!
Thanks a lot :)
This is genuinely the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. It has changed my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you, I can´t describe how great reading this comment made me feel, so just thank you.
@@jestertears4640 I would just like to say thank you again and to give you some gentle encouragement to create and share more, as this piece is phenomenal.

Super nice track!
Incredible atmosphere. Loving it! 😍
thank youu :)
Beautiful!!! Congratulations!!!
Mil gracias!!
Beautiful !😊 I cannot wait to get my hands on my Moog Studio 3,… 😃
So beautiful. Subscribed.
That's it!!
Ive read and watched every video about the Mother 32, the review ones, the tutorial ones, the funky bass ones, the searing lead ones, the cool and trippy pattern ones, the ambient ones, the kick/snare/bass/lead-all-from-one-machine one, even the BLEEP BLOOP BLEEP ones...
Bro, I even looked at the Pittburgh Lifeform SV1...
YOUR VIDEO HAS SOLD ME!!
Im getting one... maybe two.
Great!!!! Have fun with your new toy(s)!!!!
Just subbed, because this video and the music. Great stuff. Hoping to see/hear more.
Thanks a lot friend :) I´ll try to upload more as soon as I can
I had no idea this thing could make these sounds. Beautiful work.
thanks friend :)
Nicely done, such a rich deep tone !
Thanks a lot :)
great sounds !!!
I absolutely love this. Thinking about buying it :)
Beautiful
Nice job👍🏼
keep coming back to this
you fucking nailed it
Very good composition!
Very Aphex, sounds great👌
Very nice.
I have been looking for a synth to create ambient soundscapes similar to this... now.... you have have helped me to make up my mind.... this is my next toy.... I really enjoyed this piece BTW, thanks for sharing it.....
I just got mine and I love it. It's kinda basic but can be easily turned into beast with the right effects.
Thank you so much!! It´s great I helped with your decision!! Have fun with your new toy :)
Hi there! You could make a similar sounding patch for FREE in VCV Rack. My first generative patch sounded like this.
@@shubhampaul7845 VCV rack is absolutely amazing! :D It's great for people who want to explore modular, but don't want to risk buying modules when they don't even know how it works and which modules would fit their purpose. However, having actual physical knobs gives you a different feeling. :D
Your tracks are cool, your badncamp looks great good work :)
Big thanks man!!!
gorgeous, more please
Thanks a lot! I´ll make more videos as soon as I can
Thanks! The patch notes will help
Beautiful, relaxing. The M32 is capable of great things, especially in combination with a good delay and reverb.
even better in combination with another MM32 and Subharmonicon
thx for demo!! With the right effect, everything can sounded like ambient, even a spoon or anything under 1 pound. Dont need 10000 synths. Its all about effects.
I agree 100%
Danitsuuuu, que canteo tio. Suena brutal
Muchas gracias tioo, kimura para ti!
Just loved that
Thanks a lot
Excellent.
Thanks!!
damn, I dig this man!
Thanks a lot!!
Very nice ambient patch. Good to see patch notes also (I must start to do that)
Thanks alot! Your videos are great , keep it up!
Thanks Jester Tears you to.
Very nice song!
Thanks!!
Lovely!! :)
Thanks a lot!!
Wow. It works fine. Meditation pure.
I used 3 Eventide Plugins on the iPad to enrich the mother's tones.
Crystals
Ultratap
Shimmerverb
Thank you for your video and the description
How to set the external FX up with this gear?
I going to subscribe, please make more of these
Thanks a lot!! More of those coming soon!

For a short moment I thought there was a water fountain pouring over the dear Mother in that thumbnail!
perfect
Thanks a lot
I dig
Wonderful video my friend. I am looking to create ambient spaces with the mother-32 as well and am very much inspired by your work. Is there somewhere you share information about how you patched this or your general process with the synth? Much respect.
well I may or may not have bought the mother-32 because of this video
Geil 🙂
Upload more!
Wow! Incredible! What reverb and other fx have you used?
this is so cool and beautiful. Thanks for patch!
I personally think you should put a stereo reverb on this (instead of mono reverb), would give the song the space it deserves.
I totally agree with you, I`ll do that next time! Thank you :)
hey it's really beautiful! I would like to know if there are any notes in the sequencer? and what are they?? many thx!
is reverb really the only effect to make this? if so thats really impressive
Nice! Was your sequence a straight C scale up and down for 32 notes?
This is a lovely piece....
May I ask what camera you recoded this on? It is very clear even with a low light. Thanks.
Thanks a lot !! It' s a Canon 5d mark IV :)
@@jestertears4640 Oh my, no wonder 🙂 My all-time dream was to acquire a Canon EOS 7D with some cool fisheye lenses.
can anyone explain the process and equipment needed for generative ambient looping like this. thank you
This sound beautiful! Could you share the whole patch?
It’s in the description
@@psilocypher yeah I've seen those, I meant the knobs 😂
Truly amazing soundscape! I'm getting into generative music, and I'm torn between getting one of the Behringer's synths, either Crave (Mother 32 clone) or Neutron, or maybe even Pro-1.. Which one do you think would suit my needs? Thx! :)
Hi… just wondering if you opted for any of the above?
@@FUNKINETIK I bought Crave, liked it, but very quickly figured that the patching options are too limited to get any kind of rich sound (don't expect rich bass), so I returned it and got an MS1 (Roland SH101 clone). I'm really satisfied with it! The sound is less squelchy than Crave's, but it's got more different waveforms and a suboscillator, and the sequencer is the same as on Crave, very simple to use. I combine it with Keystep to get two sequences running, basically the Keystep sequence transposes the MS1's sequence, so I get harmonic progressions. I still want to try out the Pro-1, though, just to satisfy my curiosity. Point is, the patching thing looks cool, but is not always necessary to get what you need!
Very cool. This is the exact type of thing I am looking to do when my Mother 32 arrives (hopefully this week!). Thank you for writing out how you accomplished this patch. Did you ‘sequence’ or put in a particular scale to get these notes?
Thanks alot! I just created a sequence in C Major, the awesome reverb and the randomness given by the patch did the rest : )
Have fun with your mother 32!
@@jestertears4640 great tune, I tried to do something similar but doesn't work....when I start the sequencer it plays few notes and it stops...where I'm wrong? What are the other settings? (sorry I have the Mother 32 since 2 days)....
@@MassimoVaccaro hello!
Maybe it's the assignable output. Do you have it set to random?
@@jestertears4640 Yes, I fixed it. It was the clock setting! Not so expert yet! Thanks for the inspiration!
@@MassimoVaccaro that's great! Have fun!
any tip how to rout mother 32 in right way into studio one ? :)
This is driving me nuts. I can not figure this out. My M32 is driving me crazy
yeah with this cable set up I'm not able to start a sequence ,,,or something, I can record a sequence but it won't actually play
Belter!
a stereo reverb/delay would have been killer! nice work anyways
I can hear the reverb can't you????
Read my comment again :-))
@@maximlamoureux4129 read mine again, the reverb is very clear;) derp!
Did you know that stereo is not the same as mono?
@@aegisraven1284 it's funny how your uploads are you calling other people 'technologically inept retards' 🤣🤣
Is it MIDI in or fully self generative?
how did you get the reverb? Is there reverb built in to the unit? Thanks!
It's in his DAW. The Mother doesnt have any onboard FX.
I used a software reverb, the Studio One's Room Reverb.
Sadly it doesn´t have it built in, It would be awesome!
How do you connect the mother 32 to an audio interface and play/record in sync with a daw like logic pro x?
I just purchased a M32 due in part to the midi capabilities in use with a DAW. I don’t have it yet...So my 2c worth. I have a USB to converter box. Easy to use. Plug in the USB to your computer. Then get a 13 pin midi cable. Attach the midi out of the converter to the input on the M32. My PC identifies the box quickly. I use Cubase but it should work with Logic. Create a midi track in Logic. Assign the midi channel in Logic as it needs to be the same as the M32. The converter boxes can be had for ~$50. On the audio side, it appears for me any way, a 1/8” to 1/4” cable (or what ever you audio input is). Create a mono audio track in Logic assigned to that input. In Cubase I’m going to have a mono in, with stereo out so I can have stereo effects. That’s about it. Like I said, mine hasn’t arrived yet, but just looking at the vids on UA-cam this configuration should open up a whole new world.
Awesome patch man! I am having some issues with patching the random into tempo. After the first few triggers, the sequence just stops for some reason. If I move the tempo knob it will retrigger a few times again then just completely stop again. Any tips?
Kayve Audio make sure that little light over 8 is green and not red? green (8/random) is step 8 without holding shift. had the same issue and i was holding shift making it 16 which lights up red
Thanks a lot!! I am sure you don't have your assing output set to random! Check the manual: you just have to get in the setup Mode and on Page 1 choose option 8. Good luck!!
@@jestertears4640 Hey man, thanks for the help. I was on the right assign setting, but for some reason my tempo (page 3) was set to DIN sync. I set it back to CV input mode and it works perfectly now
@@KAYVEAUDIO great!!
This is essentially a 32 note sequence played with randomized tempo right? The result is awesome!
Yes.
Hello ! how do you put it in random mode Thanks
is that backing track behind and m32 on top of it? or every sound in this video is form m32?
Everything you hear comes out of the mother32. The large amount of reverb is making each note sound longer. So it's not a backing track, it's just the previous notes processed by the effect.
Cheers!
This is not the raw output obviously, it's most likely run through something like a valhalla reverb in a DAW or pedal
I just got one. And I’ve watched a few tutorials on how to self generate. And I followed it. But can’t get it to do the command. How do you do this?
Could you save patches ?
How do you make sounds like this when is monophonic ?
Reverb is the key to have that "polyphonic" sound!! You cannot save patches, it is all done with the cables, but that's a good thing! It makes each session unique!
@@jestertears4640 Thanks for the info. Nice music !
heyya i want to recreate this when i'm home, so above are you patches?
What is this patch?
What is triggering the melodies that we hear?
I am a beginner and recommended you on my channel
What do you mean by self generating?
The tempo and some parameters of the sound are generated randomly, so the synth is playing the sequence and "generating" the song as I just change some of those parameters tweaking the knobs :)
Enjoyed this enough to subscribe, thanks! I love the SubH (clumsy name) so much I bought two - here’s a faster paced ambient arrangement using both of ‘em ua-cam.com/video/r0AT9vl1o-0/v-deo.html
If it is truly self-generating, why is the sequencer running. I'm trying to learn.
You are right! The sequence itself is not self generative, but its tempo, and the diffeeent parameters of the sound (filter, resonance, LFOs....) are generated almost randomly with the connections I show in the description.
Cheers!
@@jestertears4640 Thank you.
hmm... followed the patch notes. For some reason the sequence won’t play unless I manually hit run / stop over and over again. Any tips?
Maybe It is the Assign output, make sure It is set to "Sequencer step random"
Jester Tears I did. Still couldn’t get it to work for some reason, but I did patch in it into to GATE for some cool effects anyways 🤣
@@atlasglaas2575 i was having the same tempo input issue. it needs to be setup to accept CV. do this by putting your mother32 into setup mode, scroll to page three with the octave buttons and press 1 on the sequencer then exit. it works after that.
I'm trying to reproduce this - well, you know, something similar - and though I've used the same patches, I can't seem to get a similar sound. Two questions, if you don't mind a look behind the curtain: how are you doing the swell in effect, and how are you doing the secondary voices? Is there another sound source playing? Or is that all due to the Studio One reverb?
Hi!!
All you need is a very long reverb. All those secondary voices are just the continuation of previous notes in the sequence, emulating this "chord" vibe. That reverb combined with a not too high cutoff and a high envelope attack create this round sound.
I'm happy you got inspired by mi video! Feel free to ask me again if you need more help!
Daniel de la Peña González Thank you for the additional info. Sorry it took me a while to reply, I've been out of the country this week. I've got more travel coming up for the next few weeks, but I'm looking forward to experimenting some more when I'm back in town for a while. And, actually, I've been looking at reverb units for a while, just trying to decide which to get, so this info will definitely push me to decide.
@@Manolobhbc Hi! Sorry, I answered you with my other account haah, that was me!
As you can see, digital reverb works great and can be very cheap but in case you are looking for a good analog reverb, for me the Eventide Space is the best one for this kind of sound.
Good luck!
You have a midi keyboard connected and Reverb. This is not simply the Moog Mother 32 is it.
Yeah, i use reverb but I didn´t need a keyboard, just used the unit´s sequencer. Cheers!
I don’t think so.
i won't tell anyone that you are a Marillion fan...
