Some people ride high horses. Maybe they really don’t like the fact that he can do this job and they can’t even change a flat tire. People are foolish making fun of others who are different from them. Seems like a good dude to me
I enjoyed this video step by step explanation you did a fantastic job thanks, love your southern accent real Americans l will get some of this stuff and paint my motorcycle seat cheers from Australia well done
Oddly enough out of all the automotive videos I’ve watched . Yours is my favorite. Maybe it’s your voice is clear and the videos clear and you step by step it🤷🏼♀️
I have a update video of a car I did 4 years later and it held up great, but I sold this truck and Idk how well it lasted on this truck but the car I did lasted great
About to buy a 09 Santa Fe that has door panels looking pretty ruff. Do you think I need like a dust free area to apply this? I’m little worried about bugs or crap getting on my panel while it’s drying. Never done anything like this before
Appreciate it man I did this a while back with normal spray paint and it came out good for a month and started peeling after but after seeing this vid I’ll make sure to buy that one and apply light coats really helped me out 🙏🏼
Dupli-color makes a darn good paintable undercoating as well. Use it religiously on my mustang and f100 builds. Plus it's about $8 cheaper per can than 3m. I've done side by side testing between the two and there is no distinguishable difference between the two.
I did a whole Camaro interior in it and have some videos on it even some 4 years later ones, it held up like the day I sprayed it, I sold this truck so IDK how well it held up on this one personally lol I upgraded from the 6.9 flat bed to a 7.3 rollback and will be doing more videos like this on its interior
Just want to ask, now after 3 years, how is it holding up. Been wanting to paint my interior, slight color change, but wasn't sure if it would make it worse over time if it starts scratching off and or peeling/chipping.
Did this to a teet Results are amazing! But! Over time it just scratches out on it's own with minimal effort. Am I doing something wrong? Spent over $100 on that stuff and all my doors has scratches on it and it sucks.
if you clear coat over it, the vinyl paint cant work, so it can fail, if you gonna use a clear coat, the vinyl paint, looks like paint buts its really not
Thanks, this is a old video, I think im doing better at making videos now, just make sure you prep it good and just use light coats of paint and you should be fine, also check out my channel for more videos like this and be-sure to subscribe for more awesome videos
I like have a UTE, over here in the states, They like a new model elcamino, and yes it would work great, long as you do your prep right, check out my how paint your dash video, I will have more videos coming soon of this topic
looks good man, did the stuff harden well? can it be scratched off easily? is the door panel almost feel like a soft rubber like the gm ones or is it more of a hard plastic? thanks
its feels more of a rubber than a paint, and no if you do it right it dont starch off or anything if the surface you painting is clean and preped, I had a sticker on my dash that I painted and peeled it back off a year later and it cleaned up and never even put a place on the dash
i know this is an old vid but curious how long this lasts.. does it rub off easy from you opening/closing door or resting your arm on it while driving?
if its prep'ed right then no I have not noticed it to wear off in the years I been using it, but if you dont clean and do light coats it will peel, I seen many people use it wrong, and if you spray cloth with it, it never comes off just be sure to brush the fabric between coats to keep it soft, I have a video on that coming soon
I've done this on my seats and other interior parts and they came out fine. (one seat that nobody sat on lasted 15 years with only a couple touchups.) Now I want to do my door panels but they have a inset carpet area. Can I paint right over that?
yes you can, you can paint right over the carpet, may take a few extra coats around that area the carpet tends to act like a sponge , be sure to subscribe I have more videos like this coming soon since warm weather is soon to come
fixing do some more soon, lol been busy setting up the powder coat business, should be more uploaded very soon so stay tuned and be sure your subscribed :)
How many cans would you say I need to paint all four door panels and the door sills? I’m currently transitioning my interior from gray cloth to black leather and figured the panels should be blacked out too.
Awesome! I noticed you didn't use adhesion promoter. Any reasoning behind that? I plan on doing this to my ford ranger's b-pillars but was going to use the dupicolor adhesion promoter and then the same vinyl paint (flat black)Also how is it holding up thus far? Any scratches/nicks...etc. I've seen some people and it's destroyed in weeks, while other parts are fine years later. Considering my b-pillars are behind me and not touched I suspect it should last a long time.
Hello, thanks for your comment, let me start off by saying why I did not use the adhesion promoter in this video is cause the vinyl and fabric paint done has it in the can so you can just spray on and go, and as far as holding up it does great if you prep and clean the surface right and do light coats, the ones that you usually see that do not lasted are the ones people have did bad prep with and or have layed heavy coats on, I will be doing more videos like this very soon so subscribe... and If you want know anything else just ask
yes but this requires light coats, as its more of a vinyl then a paint, its easy to get dry back and peeling if you put it on in that fashion, now if you use a 1k paint or a base clear, that does help
yes temp has a lot to do with it, but blending is the key light mist coats and dry to its all even. if it all goes on think then it sometimes will dry with dark and light spots in it
yes you can wait to its warmer, or do a light mist coat on the whole dash to work the spots out, I need do a video of the misting trick, its the same way we usually blend spots in paint jobs
TattsForLife yea the first time I done it I layed it on thick I done one years ago it came out good doing the light coat effect this time Quess I was in a hurry and I done it in the garage with no sun. It was warm out today so I packed it out in the direct sun and done the light coat effect done it in a three stage waiting about five min in between and it worked came out great. So the trick is doing light coats and doing it in direct sun it seems to activate better that way
I did a dash video also, just searh how to paint a dash and it should pop up. I always buy extra cans a dash get 3 cans to be safe for it, once you use it a few times you can judge how far a can will go... Hope this helps and dont forget to subscribe
At the moment sir duplicolor dont offer it in yellow, but VHT Paint has it in a spray on vinyl dye in yellow, it works the same way as the duplicolor cans, hope this helps
Thanks a lot for your quick reply and information. i have heard also about VHT, but the store told me that it is a permanent dye, not a paint that I would be able to remove in the future. Do you know the difference ?
I hate to say, but the dupli color is the same way, just one called dye and the other is vinyl and fabric, i used both an both goes on and acts the same, and u can use your armor all and your shiny stuff on it after its done, and if done right, its not gonna come off... no matter what one you use, but if you want yellow, VHT be the way to go, if you dont like yellow, then you can allways cover it, you can have any color you like, long as its black...... cause black covers anything good.... even yellow lol
if you doing a steering wheel, over time it will wear off due to teh friction from your hands, but you can use any color you want, I like the flat black as it tends to look more factory
MJ Wacoche nope, once they dry for 24 hours the smell is completely gone, but u need do light coats and flash time for each coat, if you lay heavy coats with no flash time, I would say they would smell a little longer than usaly, due to vapors escapeing, that's what causes the smell
Did you use flat black?
Yes flat black is what im useing in this video, if you use the gloss black it looks painted and tacky,
TattsForLife yea i just tried the gloss black an hour ago nd i didnt like at all did u also use flat for ur truck you did on interior
Yes sir, flat black is what I used on this truck, im fixing to redye a whole c1500 soon with it in upcoming videos, if you such my channel and look at my playlist I have more dupli color videos
