Burnout and life changes are real. My job and life right now have gotten so busy I can barely keep up with simple things. I wish I could manage a game. It's when I'm at my best.
I think players having life experiences tend to get tired. They just want to chill. Play a different game. Play a more relaxed, lower-prep game. Or take a break for a while.
