Hiru's top 10reasons why Lillian Voss is the best character in the game. 1) she's Lillian Voss 2) Lillian Voss 3) Lillian Voss is a Lillian who can Voss 4) Lillian Voss can cast Lillian Voss which makes her Lillian Voss 5) Lillian 6) Voss 7) Purple fire 8) she Lillian Voss'd her Dad 9) she Lillian Vosses other things in one Lillian Voss 10) She is an undead
That what you said about Lillian Voss is... beautiful just beautiful.I haven't seen more beautiful reasons why Lillian Voss is very good character you did the best XDDDDD
The blood elf starting zone will always be my favorite zone. Always makes me sad Blizzard tossed Silvermoon and Draenai's Exodar away like hot garbage.
especially because the draenai are or atleast should've been SUPER important. Because of their history with the orcs they should've been a big part of the wars between them but they weren't which is superrr disappointing
Gilneas is definitely me favorite zone, and I've actually created new worgens just to do the starting zone for fun. I too love the look of the zone, and the music goes perfectly with it! Fun fact! Lord Darius Crowley is voiced by David Thewlis who played Remus Lupin (a werewolf) in Harry Potter!
But that's the thing isn't it. It is his list. He loved the Voss storyline. If he loved killing kobolds in caves repeatedly it would be the human storyline. It is a personal thing. If you tried to make some kind of objective list it wouldn't work because everyone has a subjective opinion.
To loosely quote another video of his: "Oops, how did that get in the script,' I say in a video that I spent hours editing and rewatching for any mistakes."
my favorite is the blood elf and night elf starting zone they are visually beautiful and the simple quests make me feel like a fresh faced adventurer out to make a living in a strange world.
@@pyktukasplays4945 yes i did answer, it is bad bc theres no flying, and even with 100% mount speed, npcs keep dismounting u, so flying makes leveling 200% better
Mulgore is the reason I'm a longlife Tauren. It's just ... beautiful. Yes, questing sucks, and mobs are so scarce that some quests take forever to complete, but sometimes I just sat on top of Thunder Bluff and watch the sunrise, or the night stars. Cataclysm destroyed The Barrens for me though (literally and figuratively).
Bad questing in DK starting zone? o_O Riding an undead dragon and bombing the shit out of human town is one the most fun quest I've played in WoW, let alone in WoTLK.
Not just that. Just generally being a servant of evil and slaughtering innocent citizens and so on, was a special trip down a dark alleyway i'll never forget xD
You don't throw devices at miners to turn them into undead, you are actually a perfume salesman who's selling a perfume that makes you smell like an undead.
"if wow ever dies I'm going to spend my last few moments in mulgore, just so my character can stay there forever." Me too mate me too, despite the fact that I play alliance. The tauren zones are my favourite.
@@hilnnerfarias913 i know the feel bro, id like it either in teldrassim or ashenvale, but a certain faction destroyed it, Hyjal is also an interesting place but overall, i'd spend it in the Emerald Dream
I have a soft spot for the BE starting zone because my first ever toon was a BE. I really love the bittersweet, nostalgic feel of the Eversong Woods. I've since switched to Alliance but just yesterday I went all the way to the woods just to be in the zone again.
Eversong Woods is honestly up there with one of my all time favorite zones in the game aesthetically. It just looks amazing to me and the atmosphere feels so warm and inviting
Ennio Paone The quests in all pre-wotlk zones are boring. Even in this video, 4 zones are after cata, and DK zone is from wotlk. If blizzard ever decides to rework the old zones, I'm sure they would make the quests more fun.
I will ignore that fail with Undead, so Worgen's starting zone won and I am happy about that. Lorewise it's 5/5, according to your own rules. You would know why, if you would actually finnish the zone, as you would see that storyline there ends not with convincing people you are a good worgen, but with a huge fight for Gilneas city against Sylvanas, creating the whole Genn x Sylvanas hatered and blowing up the Horde's zeppelin. Now imagine, if Eversong Woods had the same update as other vanilla zones went through. That would be epic.
Yeah, no. Worgen starting zone is honestly pretty boring and the storyline bland. It looks nice but as much as I like my Worgen, the starting zone is ass and not deserving of even second.
@@sarkaztik3228 Your personal opinion, through majority of people would disagree with you. However, if you are saying the story of it is bland, you clearly have no idea about it, maybe you should read it... or even play it with that "Worgen" you claim to have ;)
sorry but the worgan starting zone is way better than the undead starting zone[in my opinion ]. if wow died i would stand there and wait for the servers to crash
I just replayed Gilneas on a starter account waiting for my paycheck so I can renew my sub and I forgot how much I loved that zone. Can the Worgen join the horde in some alternate timeline? ;)
RIGHTTT the worgen have such heavy lore. between it being connected to the elves and it involving not only king greymane but sylvanas and the forsaken too!!!
Dk starting zone's quests to me, were really enjoyable, playing through it when it first came out (and being very young) it felt so cool to be the big bad evil guy, killing people and the interaction with the the lore characters made the quests feel extra special as you know your having quite a large impact on future events *Edit* Plus the last few quests with lights hope chapel and the purification of the Ashbringer is just epic
Pandaren startin zone?? The music, the lore, AND THE BEAUTIFUL ZONE?? i know it's your opinion, but the pandaren really deserved it to be ob the top 5 list.
how do goblins and elves fit their heads into helmets with those big ears how do tauren and draenei use pants, belts, and boots while they have those tails (panda fits better with it's tail) and hooves how can a tauren wear helmets when the horns still pop out how does a troll wear boots without covering it's feet how do worgen still wear armor after shape shifting how do trolls wear armor with their tusks popped out
Bill look, i guess you are one of those guys who hates most of the things in wow like those kids who say 'mop was the worst expansion because pandas are fat, fuck monks, they are too op etc. Even in the future expansion you will hate most of the things. But you will always play wow, because you can complain about it. And thats sad!
I mean, if you REALLY think about it, it's a pretty good tactic on the Lich King's part. Capture your best friend, make you kill them to prove your allegiance, if you don't kill you off. It's not as far of a stretch as you think. Especially with how much the lich king plans stuff out. Like the entire time, lore wise, you're only doing what you're doing to be sent to your death to bring out Tirion. That's an awful lot of planning. Capturing a dk's best friend in life wouldn't be anywhere close to that level.
5 Pandaren (great aesthetics, nice all around atmosphere, however sometimes boring or tilting quests) 4 Blood elf (great aesthetics, love the music) 3 Death Knight (i just love arthas and i love the feeling of the zone with us being the bad guy) 2 Goblin (love the quests, love the aesthetics, love the music) 1 worgen (well everythings perfect, with only the quests being boring sometimes, music is gold, aesthetics are legendary)
The first time leveling in that zone was great but ... after my third panda it became lame and annoying. I just hate it when you can't skip a zone. That's why I also don't like the Goblin, Worgen, demon hunter and DK zones. But the stories are good.
9:56 Minor point as this was a good video and I agree with you about Gallywix, but I always thought the Dragon Aspects lost their power because of they dumped it all into the dragon soul to kill Deathwing? I always assumed it was similar to the sacrifice the Nelves made in WC3: they sacrificed their immortality to kill an immortal being
In my opinion, the Panda's starting zone in probably my favorite, the zone looks fresh and amazing, the quest are diverse, some are fun and just incredible (when you discover you where on a turtle since the beginning) but some are more boring, and in term of lore it's a pretty good introduction to the lore of MoP who was one of the most unique expansion in the game. It's also the only way in the game to be neutral and that you have a race who is both Horde and Alliance.
I found the Pandaren starting zone to be fun and exciting. I really wish Blizzard would add more playable neutral races to the game. In fact I think some races would serve a better purpose as neutral rather than assigned to a certain faction. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks that.
God I love the goblin starting zone so much. I have never seen it on a list like this before. A lot of people say they don't like it, I really don't see why. I think the story behind it is cool personally, although I am no expert lmao. I love the quests and I love the scenery!!! Plus goblins are so cute. I love goblins. :)
Pandaren have the best starting zone IMO, learning about the the big turtle and how everyone got into the situation they got in makes the lore quite interesting to me, plus both the companions that join you are fun. There are a lot of unique quests yet none that really bore me (mind you, ive made LITERALLY dozens of pandaren), and finally the whole aesthetic of the zone is beautiful, the lakes, the vast expanses with bustling nature and wildlife, and just the stylization makes it all work for me
Absolutly! Perfect atmosphere to be in Dun Morogh at a cold winter night in December, whilst outside everything is covered in snow and you play in a warm, cozy room
Your positive remarks about Mulgore were nice to hear and really resonated with me. I realized pretty early on in this list that it wouldn't make the cut, despite being my favorite, because like you said it gets REALLY low marks in questing, if nothing else. But it says a lot for how nice that zone is aesthetically, and the simple-but-appropriate lore of the Taurens as a very peaceful, earth-loving, tribal community, for it to fall so short mechanically, but still leave such a positive impact on players. Playing a Tauren Shaman was the first and possibly only time I rolled a character and felt like I was living out a fantasy designed specifically for me. The progression might have been slow, but I didn't care, because I was too busy role-playing a Native American cow shaman.
Sadly the Goblin starting zone is currently broken with level scaling and the XP buff, being very difficult to complete due to the fact that certain quests weren't made with scaling in mind. For example the plane quest in which you ride in a plane and destroy the SI:7 planes was practically impossible because their planes would scale up but yours wouldn't, causing your plane to be one-shot and you falling to your death.
It would be interesting if there was a story of siblings where one became undead, and the other chose to accept them or something. Would be a touching story.
Jupp, the problem with every Cata-leveling zone, The DK zone and the DH zone. It is awesome the first time, sure... but after that, it gets repetetive... The OTHER zones can you easily exit when you are high enough level. (I know you can glitch out of the others, just being honest). Like, Do Elwynn forest or Durotar and you can leave as soon as you reach level 10, which you will be LOOONG before you are done. But In the above mentioned Zones, you have no choice. You WILL do this questline, in THIS exact way, otherwisae you aren't leaving. And you won't leave untill you are level 15ish. While, yes, the Zones are quite cool, are they linear and boring as hell after the 3rd time.
I'm sorry this video is so long for only being a top 5. I tried to cut things out and only talk about important stuff, but before I knew it I had a half hour long strip of audio once things were all done
No offense, but it was hard to take your thoughts on the Undead Zone fairly. You had a huge bias, and while it is true that this is a personal thoughts type of list, it still makes me wonder how much your personal bias effected the listing. Was this list made simply to talk more about Lillian Voss, or was it simply a consequence of this list? While I won't be so callous as to demand a retrial, as I don't think it'd change the outcome, it would be nice to know how much bias was put into this in regards to the Undead zone
Which is fair, I wouldn't ever think to call your opinion on the character bad, even if I personally dislike the character; if she were universally hated, they'd of left her dead back in Scholomance. I dunno, I personally don't see the hype around the character, with her powers being as vague as they are, they come off as borderline mary sue, and it feels like she's being set up as a character that'll replace Sylvanas, but then either just axe the entire Forsaken, or remove everything that makes the faction unique amongst the Horde. I'd like her better as her own entity
Oh I getcha, you have valid complaints about her character. Shes luckily a fan favorite character as well as a personal favorite, so I doubt to many people will be surprised to see thats shes a big reason the undead starting zone is high on the list. Also, Lillian isnt part of the Forsaken as far as I know. She does just kinda do her own thing.
I agree that she isn't apart of the Forsaken, but there seems to be a lot of potential and open endedness to her character to allow for that connection, be it implied or confirmed down the road. She's a good character, but she, atleast in my mind, goes against everything the Forsaken has going for it
Lillian was pure Neutral until They decided she was a Rogue follower for Horde only... should have used someone else I don't even consider her a rogue she does not do rogue things.
despite the mass hatred for the Pandaren as a whole, I kinda expected their starting zone to be on this list. Lore isnt great but its definitely one of the most fun zones to level in, plus it looks fantastic.
Gotta say I liked the original undead starting quests a lot better than the new ones. Lillian Voss was annoying as hell, and was freaking drama queen in Schoolmance.
Who's Lillian Voss? I remember her from Scholomance, but that's all I know about her. Is it ever explained why she's so powerful? Does she have any significance to the larger storyline?
UC is my least favorite capital, but the forsaken starting zone was pretty rad. My favorite part was the derpy warrior buddy who hangs out with you and becomes a guard while you go on to adventure, made it feel more believable in context
one of my favorite starting zones would have to go to Blood Elf (worgen for alliance, when its not lagging horribly). Though, admittedly that is more because i also lump in the ghostlands with eversong. I love how you end the zone slaying the betrayer of the sin'dorei, let Sylvanas know that he is no more, and then you give her a locket gifted to her by the sister she thought dead. Reminds me that sylvanas was once an enjoyable and lively character. Now she just seems to be all edgy and upset because she hasnt been getting her way. Dont get me wrong, her actions always been questionable and she was always scheming, I dont think the reveal of her turning villain is bad, just they could have made it a bit more appealing story-wise.
The undead and night elf starting areas will always hold a special place in my heart. The Undead for aesthetics and Lore and the NE for its wonderful music in the starting zone that always takes me back to being a kid in 2006.
Personal favorites: 5- Blood Elf, is a easy place to learn how to play the game and I just have a lot of good memories in it 4- Worgen, was a lot of fun to go though all the way until the end which I could never finish because the final quest always glitches with Mr. Top Hat failing to jump off the cliff thus making it impossible to finish (just choose death already!!!) 3- Goblin, Those quest though... it felt like Blizzard just said,"What do you think we can make if we get on this stuff *pulls out bag of weed*?" (Not a bad thing, it tops as some of my favorite quests ever) 2- DK, I use to just mass create alt DK's to do the skull repeatable quest for gold farming and sending all money the my main plus it was fun to be bad guy once in a while and the final quest with the raid on Light Hope's Chaptal was a blast 1- Undead, My favorite race, Faction leader, and capital, has a great look, great lore with the whole aftermath of Arthas, and did Hirumaredx mention Villian Voss? All hail the Dark Lady
All in all, I did not see the list he got all the surprising and gave me flash backs to some great memories... Gonna miss you midwest level 62 UD hunter and Fanghowl the Spider, you were a great friend
In the DK starting zone, after you turned the sky dark and you were inside the castle, city thing, if you went back to the farm field there would be this Necromancer with a cauldron. The Necromancer will say bla bla bla Lich King bla bla bla go collect the skulls of the towns people. After accepting this you go into the city and kill everyone inside. Loot the skulls and return to the Necromancer, he will give you some gold and I think he puts some kind of buff on you or gives you a potion that sold for a hefty amount the first time you do this. The quest was repeatable so rinse and repeat to your heart content, and once you were done just finish the questing zone because once you do you cannot go back
The Tauren starting zone is definitely my favorite. Maybe it’s because my first moments on wow were in Mulgore during BC but man oh man Tauren are great
I really enjoyed the Death Knight zones quests. I felt that there was a good amount of variety in the quests and the one to get your Deathcharger was my favourite (I just really like Deathchargers they look so cool). For the aesthetics of the zone it wasn't exactly pretty or interesting compared to other starting zones but fit really well with the Death Knights coming into ur home and killing ur whole family kinda vibe so I really enjoyed the zone's design and how it worked with the quests
I was disappointed the Blood Elf starting zone wasn't number 1, much less on the list. That, to this day, is still my favorite starting zone. So beautiful. So many great memories.
I'll be honest, the Pandaren have my favorite starting zone. It was the first race I played when I got into WoW and also I picked up the game on that expansion so I'm definitely biased, but I think it still holds up pretty well, and you get fly on a giant turtle. That's badass.
My favorite is the Blood Elf as many others have also stated. Eversong Forest is just pure magic. 10/10 aesthetics and music. It was my first ever character back in 2008, so I may be biased.
Ok, I understand you have a hard on fetish for Lillian Voss, and her story is fun and interesting, but with the rest of the quests in the zone, being bland and boring the real score for lore unweighted for your fetish is only a three out of five. Also the worst zone in the game for questing beyond LV so fun is really a 1/5. looks like any other place the craptastic undead have infected so 1/5. This puts the real value into perspective and shows just how much you really spend too much time thinking Lillian Voss is the bee's knees. Fun and interesting character in the dungeons yes, but not enough to save an entire zone from crappiness. 5/13 making it one of the worst in reality. This is my opinion as your list is yours.
I completely agree with you, sure Lilian Voss is an interesting character but it's not like she's the best character in WoW or anything, definitely not the kind of character that can save a bland zone (both in terms of looks and quests - I can't say much about lore as I don't know too much regarding that part of the area). The likes of Tyrion, Darion, and the obviously the Lich King are hands down cooler characters to quest for and with. And isn't the undead zone just a bunch of Scarlet Crusade quests? How is that any different than the theme of the DK questline? And how is it better? Because one semi interesting character shows up from time to time? Yeah no thanks... I'd rather fly an undead dragon and raid lights hope again. I know I focused on the comparisons to the DK starting zone but in truth I could argue these points for every zone on this list (eg. Voljin > Lilian Voss / Genn Graymane and Crowley > Lilian Voss, etc.) and for a handful of other starting zones throughout the game.
I always loved the undead starting zone, also in vanilla. You really felt like you were running around in undead lands after the plague. But then again, I also loved the plaugelands for that very reason, and always loved the dungeons in the zones, especielly in vanilla.
I found even the pre-Cata Undead starting zone was fun! Very friendly people in zone chat :). I'm looking forward to remaking my Warlock in Classic. Great list!
To me, the BE starting zone is the best one. The most aestetically pleasing and it has some very cool quests. However, the most memorable thing for me was when i first walked into Silvermoon City and was gob smacked by the sheer size and beauty of it. To this day it is still my favorite capital in WOW and the best looking city. The story was nice too, telling the tragic tale of the decimation of the high elves at the hand of the Scourge. Quests were pretty basic, but fun and you even had a rep faction selling pretty cool lv 10-20 items. Everything culmitaing with the quest where you give Sylvanas' her long lost pendant and she sings you the magnificent song "Lament of the Highborne". That is one of the most unforgetable WOW moments for me and that song still sends a shiver down my spine when i hear it. Quel'Thalas will always be my favorite starting zone.
Hiruma, after Godfrey throws himself off the cliff in the Worgen starting zone, he and the two men you assassinate in that stealth mission end up getting raised by Sylvanas and are a major part of the questline in Silverpine for the undead, before becoming the bosses of Shadowfang keep. I really think that should have tipped the lore for the worgen zone to 5/5
The Drenai starting zone and story are great, and in the end you feel like a true hero when you finish it and get even a parade at the end i think it is way over the deathknight and troll starting zone
i absolutely agree with #1. i'm an alliance player, but i absolutely love the forsaken questing, aesthetics and storyline. even more so, i loved the quests where you go head to head with worgen under sylvanas in silverpine forest. the undead story is really well thought out, esp when garrosh cusses out sylvanas when she shows him her way of creating more undead for the horde. undead and their queen being shunned by the warchief for just trying to remain alive. i'm all velen, but sylvanas just gives out big phylosophical questions about existence and it makes leveling undead amazing
I... really disagree with the scoring you gave Quel'thelas, in terms of lore. Lorewise, it's actually pretty significant given you're out to kill the person who betrayed Silvermoon and made it possible for Arthas to even destroy the city to begin with. The quel'dorei's magical defenses were making Arthas' incursion pretty much impossible until Dar'khan told him how to disable the magical defenses and also helped him do it. These were defenses that not even the red dragonflight could pierce back in the Second War. You also learn why the blood elves refused to join the Alliance, even besides the past with Garithos; dwarves spying on them, and the night elves also spying on them and also attempting to sabotage their attempts to set up new defenses and fight back against the Scourge in the Dead Scar/Ghostlands. Between Eversong and Ghostlands, the whole of Quel'thelas is huge in terms of lore.
Plus the aesthetics, which for me deserved a 3/3, the quel'thalas forest is simply beautiful, one of the 15 most beautiful zones in all of WoW I would say
My favorite zone would be night elfs. I'm not going to be judging it based on lore or anything, its just so beautiful and the music is amazing I sometimes just never want to leave the place. Plus, the first character I ever made was a night elf so that zone has a very special place in my heart. As you said about if WoW ever died, I would sit in the Nelf starting zone until servers shut down. :)
I'm sorry, but Lilian Voss being your reason for the Undead starting zone being great is just ridiculous and completely biased. That one quest line does not negate the fact majority of quests in that zone are VERY boring and/or annoying. You have lost all merit with this video.
Hey! Another great movie. Could you possibly tell me the name of the addon you use? It changes traditional quest window into the text on the black background. I mean this one shown in 2:08. :)
I love your videos man. I’m right there with you on everything you talk about. I think I’d replace the goblin with the Draenei starting zone, but you are on point with every one of your talking points in all of your videos. As a long time wow player I have nothing but fond and nostalgic memories and experiences even still of these areas. Keep up the content man, excellent vids ✌️
Nicolai Danielsen its pretty, but it really is a fairly boring zone. There really isn't much in the way of intersting lore there, either. It gets a little better once you get to the mainland. Night Elf lore is fairly entertaining, but the questing isn't.
same, I remember back when i created an undead character so many years ago i just abandoned it becuz the zone was so god damn boring and I just grew tired of the blatant cringy edgelord goth teenager vibe to it
The DH startig Zone tied with DK. I really like how the DH starting zone is actually a suicide mission that Illidan sends you along with all the other DH to do. You also get to make a few choices during questing which in my opinion made it more fun.
hirumaredx I don't see how, if let's say you gave it 2 for aesthetic, 4 for lore(should be 5 in my view), you'd have to give it less than 2 in fun quests for it to lose out to dk
You just picked all the horde zones lmao.. except for worgen then. but just bc ur a horde player? Doesn't seem like a fair list to me. You should recall ur vid top 5 horde starting zones instead with a honorable mention of the worgen.
Could also just be that Ally zones are a bit boring. Northshire abbey isn't exactly a thrilling zone, it's miniscule, Night elves have the really annoying running quests for the moonwells, dwarves have some better stuff, but nothing very big and lore related, and gnomes have a pretty good starting area, but gnomeregan becomes irrelevant after that since it never actually gets retaken
Blood elf zone is the best. One of the only zones to ever really take me away to another place. The music is perfect, the creatures are weird, the architecture is other worldly.
One time when I quested in the undead starting zone I had forgot Gebler, the level 15 guard came up the stairs in the tower to Lillian to kill her but when I saw he was level 15 I freaked the heck out so much that I jumped off the tower.
Really disappointed by this list. I was very excited when I saw the video but it really came up short. I get why you put where you put it. I'd much rather see a list of the pre cata starting zones and not DK/Worgen/Panda/Goblin etc. since they were created at a much different time and with different resources. Vanilla starting zones before cata remake thx.
I'm happy I started as forsaken. I don't know if I would have gotten into it as much with other starting zones but I really felt drawn in and intrigued wanting to know where the story was going.

The music in the Blood elf starting zone was so beautiful Brings back alot of memories
It’s so nostalgic, and so is azuremyst isle.
Silverwood has great lore and quests, especially when you get into ghostlands
Gilneas is definitely me favorite zone, and I've actually created new worgens just to do the starting zone for fun. I too love the look of the zone, and the music goes perfectly with it!
Fun fact! Lord Darius Crowley is voiced by David Thewlis who played Remus Lupin (a werewolf) in Harry Potter!
I did not know that
We get it. You like the Lilian Voss storyline. Was it really nescessary to give the undead starting zone 10/5?
Alexander Gallant i think that was editing error
Alexander Gallant he liked it so much he typed 10 on purpose.. It still only counted as 5. He made a statement!
But that's the thing isn't it. It is his list. He loved the Voss storyline. If he loved killing kobolds in caves repeatedly it would be the human storyline. It is a personal thing. If you tried to make some kind of objective list it wouldn't work because everyone has a subjective opinion.

Yes, it was completely neccessary

Bad questing in DK starting zone? o_O Riding an undead dragon and bombing the shit out of human town is one the most fun quest I've played in WoW, let alone in WoTLK.
Not just that. Just generally being a servant of evil and slaughtering innocent citizens and so on, was a special trip down a dark alleyway i'll never forget xD
boogeyabse it feels good to be the bad guy for a change
Cool visually but mechanic is not that fun, the one where you throw bombs at the Worgens on a horse is much better.
Also seeing the zone go from a peaceful happy scarlet crusade area to a corrupted house of the scourge
Not to mention, at the end you are in a giant undead raid party and slaughter the scarlet crusade. Then get owned by the Light Dady!
You don't throw devices at miners to turn them into undead, you are actually a perfume salesman who's selling a perfume that makes you smell like an undead.
"if wow ever dies I'm going to spend my last few moments in mulgore, just so my character can stay there forever."
Me too mate me too, despite the fact that I play alliance. The tauren zones are my favourite.
Mine would be Teldrassil, but some crazy goth woman elf burnt it.
The quests are extremilly boring tho.
Ennio Paone boring but the atmosphere is so neat. The music and feel. And come on, it's less boring than tauren or night elf.
If blizzard ever decides to rework the old zones, I'm sure they would make the quests more fun.
jack ripper Yeah, those were way too boring.
However, if you are saying the story of it is bland, you clearly have no idea about it, maybe you should read it... or even play it with that "Worgen" you claim to have ;)
I still love the Belf starting zone and often think of how much I fell in love with WoW through the Ghostlands.
sorry but the worgan starting zone is way better than the undead starting zone[in my opinion ]. if wow died i would stand there and wait for the servers to crash
I just replayed Gilneas on a starter account waiting for my paycheck so I can renew my sub and I forgot how much I loved that zone. Can the Worgen join the horde in some alternate timeline? ;)
I want Gilneas to be resettled and rebuilt
How when it doesnt have Lillian Voss?
RIGHTTT the worgen have such heavy lore. between it being connected to the elves and it involving not only king greymane but sylvanas and the forsaken too!!!
@@antiyouthie but they have lorna crowley
Dk starting zone's quests to me, were really enjoyable, playing through it when it first came out (and being very young) it felt so cool to be the big bad evil guy, killing people and the interaction with the the lore characters made the quests feel extra special as you know your having quite a large impact on future events
*Edit* Plus the last few quests with lights hope chapel and the purification of the Ashbringer is just epic
Walrus Spymaster v
Yea I think he just had bad luck on the quest cuz I found by best quest chain for starting
4 top starting zones & 1 lillian voss fanboy rant
Pandaren startin zone?? The music, the lore, AND THE BEAUTIFUL ZONE?? i know it's your opinion, but the pandaren really deserved it to be ob the top 5 list.
but pandas are fat
+Bill If a bear wasn't fat it would have a harder time in the cold weather
how can a panda fit into any of the armor in wow
so stupid
how do goblins and elves fit their heads into helmets with those big ears
how do tauren and draenei use pants, belts, and boots while they have those tails (panda fits better with it's tail) and hooves
how can a tauren wear helmets when the horns still pop out
how does a troll wear boots without covering it's feet
how do worgen still wear armor after shape shifting
how do trolls wear armor with their tusks popped out
Bill look, i guess you are one of those guys who hates most of the things in wow like those kids who say 'mop was the worst expansion because pandas are fat, fuck monks, they are too op etc. Even in the future expansion you will hate most of the things. But you will always play wow, because you can complain about it. And thats sad!
18:35 "Just so my character can stay there forever", that's so sweet!
He said "Lillian Voss" 16 times. Woah.
Pangaren Monk take a shot of vodka for all them, damn
Yeah, I was surprised by his restraint.
With the DK starting area... what a coincidence that everyone's best friend just so happens to be in there lol
5 Pandaren (great aesthetics, nice all around atmosphere, however sometimes boring or tilting quests)
4 Blood elf (great aesthetics, love the music)
3 Death Knight (i just love arthas and i love the feeling of the zone with us being the bad guy)
2 Goblin (love the quests, love the aesthetics, love the music)
1 worgen (well everythings perfect, with only the quests being boring sometimes, music is gold, aesthetics are legendary)
tbh no joke even tho i dont like pandas their starting zone is the best.
Trueee...
Ksic HD too much walking, friend wanted to lvl panda so i tried it and pandas too fatso cant walk across half a fucking turtle
Still lore is still good there are nice quests and zone it self looks amazing.
Agreed, but I have also 5 level 110 panda's xD
It's also the only way in the game to be neutral and that you have a race who is both Horde and Alliance.
exactly!
I found the Pandaren starting zone to be fun and exciting. I really wish Blizzard would add more playable neutral races to the game. In fact I think some races would serve a better purpose as neutral rather than assigned to a certain faction. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks that.
@@Poeticphyre Defintley not but with blizzard pushing and listening to the cross faction gameplay it won’t be a big deal anymore.
There are a lot of unique quests yet none that really bore me (mind you, ive made LITERALLY dozens of pandaren), and finally the whole aesthetic of the zone is beautiful, the lakes, the vast expanses with bustling nature and wildlife, and just the stylization makes it all work for me
I dont care what anyone says, dun morogh is the best.
old dun morogh :)
felbot lolsaur 10/10 I agree
Absolutly! Perfect atmosphere to be in Dun Morogh at a cold winter night in December, whilst outside everything is covered in snow and you play in a warm, cozy room
You forgot to mention the goblins saved thrall from a magical prison cage on am alliance ship, that's pretty important lorewise
I can't believe you forgot about the last quest in gilneas when you storm you're city and wreck the undead
Definitely not biased... nope, nuh-uh...
What's so good about Lillian Voss?
I don’t get it either...
She's his waifu I guess
Cause she bosses and kill. Humans
Vosses*
Nothing.
In my opinion the worgen starting zone is the best one
Lucas The best looking zone in the game, and one of the best storyline !
It is
Jupp, the problem with every Cata-leveling zone, The DK zone and the DH zone.
I don't think I would have liked wow if it wasn't for that zone
Ohhhh yes I fricken loved Gilneas I've played alot of Worgens toons and i love the starting zones
Tirisfall Glades is what got me into WoW. Unbelievably atmospheric zone. The ambient music is on point too.
To be fair the trolls did originally enslave the goblins
Harley basically
just the zandalari trolls.
Aaaaaaaaand now they're joining the Horde.
#AwkwardReunion
And the high elves used to have humans as slaves, but later they worked with their descendants, not bothering to mention that they once enslaved them.
I'm sorry this video is so long for only being a top 5. I tried to cut things out and only talk about important stuff, but before I knew it I had a half hour long strip of audio once things were all done
I demand longer videos
hirumaredx I actually like the longer vids it kills time when I'm bored 😐
should've cut the undead part
longer videos are great!
I like the video and kinda agree with 90% of it since i have played all of them throw about 9 years of wow. also i like the comment list part.
#1 Worgen
#2 Death Knight
#3 Goblin
#4 Pandaren
#5 Demon Hunter
for me its
#1 worgen
#2 pandaria/mists of pandaria
#3 undead
#4 Trolls
#5 Goblins
+hirumaredx Someone is madly in love with Lilian Voss it seems. XD.
You should do video about evolution/ changes to the starting zones trough the expansions!
The Seven Angels This
No offense, but it was hard to take your thoughts on the Undead Zone fairly.
Lillian Voss storyline is one of the best in the game. It just so happens to also be in a starting zone, so I talked about it a lot.
"leave me to die"
Proceeds to stay very alive and present throughout the rest of the game's lifespan
Yay! I like your channel even more now when you rated the Worgen starting zone so high! :D
Who's Lillian Voss? I remember her from Scholomance, but that's all I know about her. Is it ever explained why she's so powerful? Does she have any significance to the larger storyline?
She has 0 significance and there's never explanation. At all. She's a shitty OC that really should've stayed dead after Scholomance.
Allur That's a shame.
UC is my least favorite capital, but the forsaken starting zone was pretty rad. My favorite part was the derpy warrior buddy who hangs out with you and becomes a guard while you go on to adventure, made it feel more believable in context
Im getting my brother in to WoW and ill be sharing this one to help him decide where to start! Thanks!
Connor Higgins don't, you'll spoil him the storyline
Vorti Multicompte if i had 5 cents for ever new player who started because of the storyline i'd be homeless
one of my favorite starting zones would have to go to Blood Elf (worgen for alliance, when its not lagging horribly).
I would love to see how your list changes with the new allied races
The undead and night elf starting areas will always hold a special place in my heart. The Undead for aesthetics and Lore and the NE for its wonderful music in the starting zone that always takes me back to being a kid in 2006.
My top 5
5. Worgen
4. Taurens
3. Dwarfs
2. Undead
1. Pandas
Personal favorites:
5- Blood Elf, is a easy place to learn how to play the game and I just have a lot of good memories in it
4- Worgen, was a lot of fun to go though all the way until the end which I could never finish because the final quest always glitches with Mr. Top Hat failing to jump off the cliff thus making it impossible to finish (just choose death already!!!)
3- Goblin, Those quest though... it felt like Blizzard just said,"What do you think we can make if we get on this stuff *pulls out bag of weed*?" (Not a bad thing, it tops as some of my favorite quests ever)
2- DK, I use to just mass create alt DK's to do the skull repeatable quest for gold farming and sending all money the my main plus it was fun to be bad guy once in a while and the final quest with the raid on Light Hope's Chaptal was a blast
1- Undead, My favorite race, Faction leader, and capital, has a great look, great lore with the whole aftermath of Arthas, and did Hirumaredx mention Villian Voss? All hail the Dark Lady
All in all, I did not see the list he got all the surprising and gave me flash backs to some great memories... Gonna miss you midwest level 62 UD hunter and Fanghowl the Spider, you were a great friend
Doubledasher just curious what was the skull repeatable quest?
In the DK starting zone, after you turned the sky dark and you were inside the castle, city thing, if you went back to the farm field there would be this Necromancer with a cauldron. The Necromancer will say bla bla bla Lich King bla bla bla go collect the skulls of the towns people.
After accepting this you go into the city and kill everyone inside. Loot the skulls and return to the Necromancer, he will give you some gold and I think he puts some kind of buff on you or gives you a potion that sold for a hefty amount the first time you do this.
The quest was repeatable so rinse and repeat to your heart content, and once you were done just finish the questing zone because once you do you cannot go back
Doubledasher oh I see that's interesting. I remember that quest but I didn't know about the potion that could be sold. Thanks for the info btw :D
Your Welcome
Good thing about goblin aesthetics starting zone is that it changes while you progress on it. I think it's a point in favour to the zone :)
Great video! I liked the ranking system because it quantifies your opinions, and also you had good points on each zone. Keep them coming!
The Tauren starting zone is definitely my favorite. Maybe it’s because my first moments on wow were in Mulgore during BC but man oh man Tauren are great
The soundtrack is one of the bests in Game
I really enjoyed the Death Knight zones quests. I felt that there was a good amount of variety in the quests and the one to get your Deathcharger was my favourite (I just really like Deathchargers they look so cool). For the aesthetics of the zone it wasn't exactly pretty or interesting compared to other starting zones but fit really well with the Death Knights coming into ur home and killing ur whole family kinda vibe so I really enjoyed the zone's design and how it worked with the quests
The battle for Gilneas. Isnt even mentioned.
I was disappointed the Blood Elf starting zone wasn't number 1, much less on the list. That, to this day, is still my favorite starting zone. So beautiful. So many great memories.
I have the most memories in valley of trials but had the most fun in the Goblin starting zone, It made me fall in love with Goblin life
I'll be honest, the Pandaren have my favorite starting zone. It was the first race I played when I got into WoW and also I picked up the game on that expansion so I'm definitely biased, but I think it still holds up pretty well, and you get fly on a giant turtle. That's badass.
worgen starting zone will always be the best
Worgen was fucking amazing. I remember i was blown away with fun when they came out
I found even the pre-Cata Undead starting zone was fun! Very friendly people in zone chat :). I'm looking forward to remaking my Warlock in Classic. Great list!
Eversong woods is the best!
I really think that should have tipped the lore for the worgen zone to 5/5
You're editing.
Top quality. Truly beautiful. 101/10
"Undercity is my favorite city" RIP
The Drenai starting zone and story are great, and in the end you feel like a true hero when you finish it and get even a parade at the end i think it is way over the deathknight and troll starting zone
The DK starting zone easily has the best quests of all the starting zones. Smh
i absolutely agree with #1. i'm an alliance player, but i absolutely love the forsaken questing, aesthetics and storyline. even more so, i loved the quests where you go head to head with worgen under sylvanas in silverpine forest. the undead story is really well thought out, esp when garrosh cusses out sylvanas when she shows him her way of creating more undead for the horde. undead and their queen being shunned by the warchief for just trying to remain alive. i'm all velen, but sylvanas just gives out big phylosophical questions about existence and it makes leveling undead amazing
I... really disagree with the scoring you gave Quel'thelas, in terms of lore.
This guys love Undead too much to not be biased :D
Love your vids man
the blood elf starter quest have so much lore including current content, and the zone is beautiful.
Had to prepare tea and sit comfortably to see and enjoy a hirumaredx video
Just to find out he's a necrophiliac.
hey, that's a good idea. gonna make some tea
What?! what about pandaren! Best start zone ever
18:00 If Wow Ever dies....oh how this brought genuine tears to my eyes watching this video today
Nice video, here's my *opinion* of the best wow starting zones
1. Undead
2. Worgen
3. Tauren
4. Blood elf
5. Goblin
BamaLam4 Get that *opinion* outta here
I love your videos man.
UNDEAD!!?!?!?!? xD that would be my worst zone by far i hate that place i think the best zone by far is the night elf zone it is absolutely amazing
Number one is a joke.
teldrassil is fucking dreadful place to quest in, darnassus is a pretty nice city though
Nicolai Danielsen its pretty, but it really is a fairly boring zone. There really isn't much in the way of intersting lore there, either. It gets a little better once you get to the mainland. Night Elf lore is fairly entertaining, but the questing isn't.
Undead was my first race so I have a bias for it
same, I remember back when i created an undead character so many years ago i just abandoned it becuz the zone was so god damn boring and I just grew tired of the blatant cringy edgelord goth teenager vibe to it
Gilneas all the way. Fantastic atmosphere and story. I will never forget it
Undead starting zone is slow and overrated, DH starting zone should be on this list aswell.
DH zone came in 6th I think. It was pretty close
The DH startig Zone tied with DK. I really like how the DH starting zone is actually a suicide mission that Illidan sends you along with all the other DH to do. You also get to make a few choices during questing which in my opinion made it more fun.
Nope. Tirisfal really is the best.
hirumaredx I don't see how, if let's say you gave it 2 for aesthetic, 4 for lore(should be 5 in my view), you'd have to give it less than 2 in fun quests for it to lose out to dk
Im surprised the panda starting zone was not on here. I actually really like that one, it looks great I think its fun
You just picked all the horde zones lmao.. except for worgen then. but just bc ur a horde player? Doesn't seem like a fair list to me. You should recall ur vid top 5 horde starting zones instead with a honorable mention of the worgen.
DK isn't Horde exclusive.
Great video :] Keep on making these type of videos
You lost all credibility by giving Azuremyst 4/13, even though Tirisfal really is the best newbie zone.
Had to find a comment talking about this. Azuremyst/Bloodmyst combo never felt boring and is easily the best alliance zone to level through, pre cata
Blood elf zone is the best. One of the only zones to ever really take me away to another place. The music is perfect, the creatures are weird, the architecture is other worldly.
Top 5 zones in my book are:
#1 Gilneas
#2 Wandering isle
#3 Lost isles
#4 Tirisfal Glades
#5 Azyremyst
