- The NEWEST chapters just came out and wow does it change a lot about this whole final arc! I have..mixed feelings about it but I do sort of like what they're trying to set up? It's unclear what is going to happen next but i hope we're close to the end.

What messed me up about Midoriya's arms the most was that his mom probably saw him lose his arms on the TV

Afo being behind everything makes sense... i know what a retort; but its apart of his appeal, and this revelation is gutwrenching that, of course, he had a hand on twisting the "next generation" that would suit all for him.
Also, an important distinction is that while AFO was basically the guy that created Tenko/Tomura Shigaraki or at least the idea of him, because the themes and how he mirrors with Deku are still present. Because society still was the one that failed Tenko, Kotaro(the dad) still was the one who enforced his strict rules outwardly. His family did not do anything but facilitate it. AFO is just old enough to notice these types of things in a quirk society to play around with the weak for his own gain in the end.
See the thing is there are a toooooon of kids like Tenko who liked heroes (Deku, Ochako, Bakugo, Shoto, Inasa, Jiro, etc...) AFO just wanted to be thorough, and was important that it needed to be a Shimura.
What Tenko went through still very much mattered and has weight. His journey while being all for one man still very much made it his own and his relationship with Deku and how they relate to one another was very palpabile and why last chapter worked so well as much as it did. Plus, both in a sense were characters who inherted power to achieve the things they wanted to do wholeheartedly, be it righteously saving for others and carthartic destruction for oneself.
AFO's telling Tenko his Reverse Falsh esque speech was to very much rub salt into the wound to get control of his body outright. And why this just adds another wrench into the story of everyone present on ...whats going to happen next.
I left the MHA fandom a LONG time ago because I was so overwhelmed and drowning in the toxicity of the fandom that I just needed a break. I’ve started rereading the manga pretty recently, and as I’ve gotten a lot of spoilers anyways, I didn’t really care when I started watching this video. And holy fuck, I have multiple thoughts on this and yet I’m not entirely sure how to actually say them.
I think the plot twist didn’t bother me as much, because I still think that the foil thing isn’t ruined-just more modified? Deku had nothing in the beginning, but was later given a powerful quirk for good-to help others. On the other hand, Shigaraki was ripped away of something that (might’ve?) been used for good, and forced to have another powerful quirk for evil. Deku’s quirk destroys himself, and he was willing to carry that burden when he accepted to be the next One For All holder. Shigaraki’s quirk is decay-he quite literally destroys everything and he was forced to have this power. I will say though, that the plot twist was a bit… disappointing? It wasn’t all that surprising in my opinion, but didn’t have the foreshadowing to make me come up with the theory. It’s like not expecting the expected, which isn’t all that great for a twist. Though, I’m not that mad about it because it’s decently realistic and not all that far-fetched, just a bit bland, really.
I do really like the fact that the characters who didn’t get all that much spotlight are finally getting it! I feel they deserve their own arcs! We really don’t have all that much character for them, so I personally never really got to set a solid opinion. They were just there. I was pretty indifferent about them, but I’m actually pretty hyped about their characters! ALSO AIZAWA AHHH!! I love his character; I’m a sucker for stoic and aloof characters secretly (but not so secretly) having a soft spot for their “children”
I need to read/ watch My Hero Academia. There are so many people who watch it and loved it.
