Very helpful. You just did in 6 minutes what reading the whole manual 5 times couldn't do. As someone who works on live recording this tool is invaluable. The singers get one shot at it so we need to help them out after the fact. Even the best singers can have off nights. Thanks.

Well, in defense of a good presentation, it’s always recommended to lay out:
      1. what we’re about to cover,
      2. then cover it,
      3. and then review what we covered.
      That’s like classroom presentation 101
The problem of course is when people say “uuhhh“ 50 times, make jokes, tell their life story.., in that I totally agree with you

I'm the Imaging Director of an Alternative station up in Canada and I make a lot of parody bits for the jocks here that involve me singing... albeit slightly off key sometimes haha. I've been searching for an answer on how to correct it in pro tools itself, and I didn't discover it till watching your video today!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! -A fellow Prod nerd

You can automate the plug-in by adding the master bypass (or any parameter) to the automation lane. I sometimes create a new track without the plug-in, separate all the regions I don't want auto-tuned, and move them to the new track. If you use Pro Tools, hold control (Mac) while using the grabber tool to move it to the new track, it will prevent the region from shifting.

Me too. Mainly because every pitch correction plugin create a subtle but noticeable "metallic" texture to vocals (it's very subtle but you can clearly hear it with headphones), so if there are just some few parts that need to be corrected you don't mess the texture of the other parts.

Thanks for the tutorial - very informative! quick question - have been working on a vox track; waves tune 'scanned' the audio from which I worked on near to completion - tho I noticed it had scanned and tried to pitch a couple unwanted knocks and vibrations of mic stand because I had forgotten to switch the gate on that track before using waves tune. After I had switched the gate on - is there any way of waves tune re-scanning a certain section so that I dont have to redo everything? Thanks,Paul

Question: what can I do if a vocal isn’t falling within an exact scale? I’m having a dickens of a time with a current track. The vocal essentially follows an Ab7 chord. I tried chromatic. It’s really wonky. I am “hearing” the correct note (B), but visually in the screen it’s showing it as a G? If I move the notes to the B they are way too high in pitch. Do you have any suggestions?

Cody...did you download the rtas version? also maybe try downloading waves tune again from the waves 9 program on their site...another possibility is that you downloaded the wrong version...there's waves tune and there's a lite version of it...I would check your license and make sure you bought/downloaded the right version...any of those will probably be the reason you aren't seeing it

I used WavesTune and perfected the first chorus in my song. However, I can’t seem to find any way to duplicate the same vocal take with the same changes over to the second chorus. Nothing I try is working besides committing the perfected take and copying it over, but then I can’t make any changes to it. A Google search reveals many people with this same problem, but no answers anywhere. Please help!

I always endup having weird timing issues with the pluggin as in after spending hours fixing the entire scanned track, it becomes wrong again. I though that maybe I accidentally nugded the track left or right causing it to put the correction at wrong places. Is there a way to lock the timing of the correction to always match the track so that it doesnt happen? Or am I just missing something and not doing this propely ? Thanks for the help.

Idk man, I love waves, but antares suits me fine. It does subtle edits and hardtune effects, and I can do some serious editing just like this on the midi mode as well. I messed with waves tune, melodyne ( which seems suspiciously similar to wavestune) factory pitch correction plugins from mixcraft, fl studio, cubase, and logic pro 9, and I still say Antares just does it right. I get such a headache dealing with that tiny little screen. Can you guys somehow copy the macros from the DAW into it?

This is a great plugin, but the hassle to get it going is time consuming, first you have to rewire it to an Aux..... then you have to compensate for its latency that it gives which is 3072 samples at 44.1 or 48 kHz and 6144 samples at 88.2 or 96 kHz. but all altogether... its up to you if you wanna hop ship from melodyne or Autotune... Its really the question of how precise can these plugins fix your pitch..and how fast can they get it done. then make your decision from there.

@@totigerus I was just about to buy it with it being on promotion at $35 and also that it comes with a few more features and tool options than the Melodyne 5 Essential (Which I have already), but I just cannot see any way to expand its tiny display window to a larger size and I actually started getting headaches when zooming in just to only see a small section of the audio file to work with. What a shame, if I really need those extra features I am going have to cough up the money and pay 5x the price for the Melodyne Assistant upgrade.

    • @clintonpeck
      @clintonpeck 3 роки тому +1

I gave in. For what it has to offer with its extra features at only $35 compared to Celemony Melodyne 5 Assistant at 10x the price, how could I say no to it. I spent the last couple of hours after reading a few key points in its manual on how to navigate it with zooming in and out, auto scanning, etc. With a bit more patience this time I could zoom in and out fairly quickly (ctrl/alt+left click) and found it easier enough to adapt to now. And as usual I can never turn down their extra bundle offers along with it. LOL Some more plugins thrown into the box, I am going to have to go to a plugin rehab one day.

after the signal is being scanned, tune automatically adds pitch correction, you can then tweak the correction settings to your liking, change the notes, etc.
