14:22 The best way to describe it is "Roger Rabbit is a doctor monitoring Nancy's brainwaves in her sleep". Seriously, the doctor is played by Charles Fleischer, who later went on to voice Roger Rabbit.
The manga version honestly feels less like an adaptation and more like an exercise for helping a new manga artist practice, the art itself ranges alot from pretty good to some shots where it looks like it was drawn in under 5 minutes, it honestly wouldn't super me if this was just someones assistant or apprentice being told to draw a manga based on a movie they liked and to let them practice and it was just added to the magazine as a bonus chapter, would also explain why the person used an alias because it was never intended to be official work
I can’t believe that there even IS an A Nightmare on Elm Street manga. It makes me pray that one day we could get an adaptation that is much longer than this one shot!
While not being anything other than a shot-for-shot adaption of the movie, it was very interesting to learn there was a manga of "A Nightmare on Elm Street". Well done as usual Spoopy 😄 I can't recall, but have you ever ranked the franchise?
That honestly sounds super cool, I genuinely hope it exists and we just haven't discovered it yet. I also hope there are manga for a lot of horror movies. I'm curious to see a manga adaptation of Alien, Halloween, and, as a stretch as this is, Friday the 13th part 7. Part 7 specifically because I feel like Tina vs Jason would look like the coolest shit ever in manga form. Like she'd probably do some Dragon Ball Z level crap to him without a strict budget limiting the manga artist on how creative or powerful Tina can be.
Glad to see a new Manga vs Movie video, I is always awesome to see the differences between both forms of media. I learned something new about A Nightmare On Elm Street in that their was a manga version now that was cool to see. Thanks for this video it was a blast to watch. I can't wait for more Manga vs Movie!
I have no idea why but that little 'boink' when Nancy tosses the hat at her mom killed me. 😂 Great video, though! The idea of the magazine itself is more intetesting to me than the Nightmare manga specifically. I miss the days of collected fiction magazines.
I think a thing the movie doesn’t get enough credit for is making you feel unmoored from reality in a dreamlike way. Scenes transition oddly and character reactions don’t feel realistic inside the dream. Like when Nancy sees the Freddy Hall Monitor and body bag and keeps walking.
26:16 not a lamb, but a sheep. As in counting sheep? Not a christian thing. The Christian theme isn't heavy at all (by 80's standards) It was just very normal to be a Christian/Catholic back then.
Unfortunately none of the other manga adaptations I mentioned have fully scanned or translated versions available. Only pieces here and there. I found an old French article that had a few screenshots of ROTLD scans, but it certainly wasn't the full story.
Do comic book companies still do movie adaptations? My personal favorite was the DC comics adaptation of Alien Nation. This is fascinating. I wonder what other movies have a manga counterpart over there.
There have been comic adaptations of the recent Star Wars movies and The Mandalorian TV show. Infact there are actually two different comic book adaptations of The Force Awakens and Last Jedi. By both Marvel and IDW.
Now I'm curious, the manga adaptation of Friday the 13th , and or an manga adaptation of M3GAN, if there's a such thing. M3GAN, probably doesn't have a comic adaptation of it, because it's too new of a movie, but I could be completely wrong.
Spookster's "Manga vs Movie" series is one of the best things that happened to the internet! Edit: You know what manga you need to do next, Brandon! But this time it'll be "manga vs series", because I'm talking about OPLA
nandato? freddy Krüger-san manga ? can he beat goku tho L0L can you make a new top 10 devil fruits or strongest one piece characters because quite a few have been added in wano, King Queen greenbull yamato kaido momonosuke orochi oden kinemon toki......
NOES was Depp's theatrical film debut. But not his "acting" debut. He had already started to make a name for himself as a heart throb by that point because of his role in the TV series 21 Jump Street.

Freddy also did the phone thing on
New nightmare.

I have not yet 👀
7:07 wait they were more horror manga adaptation of American horror movies i thought nightmare on elm Street was the only one!🤯
Now i wish for a Halloween manga where Michael Myers walks like Dio😂.
Hmmm interesting take. Makes me wonder if there's a manga adaptation of The Thing 1982. That would be cool if it exists.
That honestly sounds super cool, I genuinely hope it exists and we just haven't discovered it yet.

Holy shit another manga vs movie. Loved them since the blade of the immortal one please do more of them
Being a horror aficionado and lover I'm stunned to learn there is a manga about Freddy Kruger and all the kids he puts to sleep permanently

Hopefully, when it comes to the next review, we get to know more about So-ko , and her work with other things.
There's a Nightmare On Elm Street manga???
Love the added sound effects :0)

Talking about trying to stay awake while showing clips from a movie about a man whose dreams span eons and he sleeps for lobby periods of time.
I'm just glad somebody understands the gag, I thought it was hilarious.
See if you can do the return of the living dead one
I think a thing the movie doesn’t get enough credit for is making you feel unmoored from reality in a dreamlike way. Scenes transition oddly and character reactions don’t feel realistic inside the dream. Like when Nancy sees the Freddy Hall Monitor and body bag and keeps walking.
Thank god Disney didn't get freddy.😂
Picture that?
We don't need freddy singing and
Dancing.
Hi my name is freddy I'm in
Your nightmares.🎶🎶
Me: WTF?
Now I want a anime adaptation of A nightmare on elm street.
Id watch that
That's something I was praying for for years
Jeez, now I want Junji Ito to do his own take on Nightmare on Elm Street..
11:11 HOLY SHIT THAT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD SO BAD😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow cool video!
I wonder who translated this manga and made a video about it last year?
Man’s said: “coming back with a vengeance” LETS FUCKING GOOO
26:16 not a lamb, but a sheep. As in counting sheep? Not a christian thing. The Christian theme isn't heavy at all (by 80's standards) It was just very normal to be a Christian/Catholic back then.
Keep up the great content 2 spooks !
Anyone know where to find scans specifically Return of the living dead?
Unfortunately none of the other manga adaptations I mentioned have fully scanned or translated versions available. Only pieces here and there. I found an old French article that had a few screenshots of ROTLD scans, but it certainly wasn't the full story.
Thank you for telling me about monthly halloween i just learned that dark cats came from that monthly series
Didn't know freddy had a manga?😂
Wow i can't believe there was a nightmare on elm street manga 😮
Keep up the awesome work and videos 2spooky love the video
HOLD UP! THERE WAS A MANGA OF RE-ANIMATOR???!!?!??! PLEASE, TELL ME HOW CAN I FIND IT!!!!
Manga adaptation kind of feels like the comic book mark was reading in the dream child
Honestly I like how so many American films had manga adaptations.
Spooky never fails to clap my cheeks
18:20 Dumb Marge, this isn't Freddy's Revenge, that's the SECOND movie.
Spoiler: Marge your fucking dead

@@ECKohns I had no idea. I feel like I should go looking to see what is out there. Thank you for telling me about it.😃
Is there a Friday the 13th manga?
Do they have a Jason manga
Can you do edge of tomorrow and all you need is kill?
“AHAHAHA FINALLY” ~ that one guy from SpongeBob
The art style reminds me of the Sailor moon manga
The art seemed familiar to me, albeit i am sure the artist did something completely different, like a shojo manga.
There's also a kof character based on
Him name choi.
When it comes to the thumbnail, the drawing of Mr. F. Kroger, somewhat resembles Michael Jackson.

Eh, an adaptation of Child's Play would be more understandable instead of M3GAN.
@@aweirdredtoad3637 Well, indeed.
Bet you didn't know H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds got a manga adaptation, maybe the next vid could be about that

can you buy this anywhere?
I'm honestly shocked the Japanese manga adaptation LEFT OUT! the sexual under tones
nandato? freddy Krüger-san manga ? can he beat goku tho L0L

When will you ever talk about Shigeru mizuki on your channel
I would like to at some point!
I wish the was animated i wonder how much engrich they would've had in the original japanes audio
I mean the manga and movie were pretty good but the PB novel was better, imo.
I love when Japanese adapt western series.
Do bleach next
Would absolutely love to see Manga vs Movie for AOT

NOES came out in 1984 21 Jump Street 1987
@@MrMagigreen I thought jump street was 1st. I stand corrected.
Medaka Box pwease
This manga came from a Halloween monthly magazine in Japan.
The manga’s art is too pretty-girly or bland-ugly.
Elm street 2010 is the best elm street movie
Do bleach next
