- It's overpriced and fiddly to use but how well has the Netgear M6 Pro worked out for me over the last few months?

I don't use it every day but for everything I wanted it for, it's worked out really well and it performs great. It allows the whole family to connect simply and securely to one device under our control rather than to random hotel Wi-Fi networks. Equally, the unlimited data SIM I use with the product reduces the pressure on the mobile contracts of everyone else because e.g. all the time travelling in the car is done through the Netgear.
I'm still disgusted at the price. You can buy an iPhone for this kind of money which does so much more, so much better but there are a few things that this does that an iPhone never will and those things are incredibly important.
I have never used a different make of mobile router but I think you could get something cheaper than would perform close to the Netgear and save you a lot of cash which could pay your mobile SIM bill for years!

Let me know here in the comments if you'd like me to do a video looking at the settings of this router in detail. 👍🏻
That would be fabulous 😊
Dude three business plan unlimited 5g £5 + vat =£6... just a thought ;) go to the bottom of page web exclusive
Ours will be used for camping, this is hopefully an upgrade. Using a hotspot in a trailer amounts to being in a faraday cage so an external antenna is necessary and some times with a signal booster.
Used a cheap HUAWEI mifi last 3 years still going strong still works perfect in Motorhome all over Scotland and uk the price for that router is shocking but good review
Thanks for the review.I have the M5 and have been using for some time. But one thing is driving me crazy - I cannot make DHCP reservations for the devices connecting to it via Wifi. Can you tell me if that's possible on the M6?
one issue im running into with mine is it will lose signal on purpose when it gets too hot. I’m currently in the desert and it’s consistently 110 degrees fahrenheit plus so it’s hard to keep this thing cool. It warms up on its own a TON so the added heat just has it losing signal ALL the time.
Where can i get that case and the long cord? Thx for your response
Netgear make amazing mobile routers! Work great.
Would it be possible (maybe "recommended" would be a better word) to use the M6 Pro as a small "event wifi" device? For example, if I wanted to provide wifi to a group of 15 strangers in a park, would this device meet that need? Or would it be too cumbersome?
Don't see why not. The range wouldn't be amazing (it's just Wi-Fi after all) but this device would happily handle that many devices connecting up and using data.
Can you compare it with ZTE M5120 or U50 as both has wifi 6
I can use for online football
Are you using a phone contract sim or a mobile broadband sim?
I’m using a phone contract. It has unlimited data but it does have a number allocated and could be put in a regular phone.
What Service provider do you use? Can you put a phone sim in this mobile hot spot? ATT & Verizon data plans definitely do go even close to 600 gigs a month.
Can you use esim?
no, not possible in this one
I think you are just being ripped off in the UK.
These are under $600AU.
I have had mine replaced 3 times because the internal antennas fail and it is only useable with external mimo antenna.
I have just purchased a more reliable modem so the nighthawk will probably go in the bin.
This is 💯 a rip off. It’s hugely overpriced IMHO (though it is very useful). What model did you replace it with?
@@tdcattech I have just ordered the Teltonika RUTX50. I should have it in the next couple of days.
The Nighthawk has been a complete failure for me. I have had 2x M5 and 3x M6 and they have all failed.
I hope this one will solve my problems.
It is too expensive but if you just look at the modem IC inside it is over 400 USD alone
Really!!? Which one does it use?
@@tdcattech likely a quectel RM502Q-AE
@@tdcattech actually more likely the qualcomm X70 series
Amazon sells refurbished ones for under 200 bucks. Just sayin’
£899 wow 😲
I know. Ridiculous price.
