That motor is made by Tohatsu

Sweet, I'm glad I bought this mercury knowing that it should last and be as reliable as an official Tohatsu branded motor which cost a few hundred dollars more. Win win!

That mid section doesn't look very tough. Could be deceiving. We smash logs from time to time.

Agreed. I wasn't worried when after logs when I had a 2003 25hp bigfoot. So far I haven't hit anything but i'm sure as time goes by it's bound to happen. I'm going to try not to think about it until then ;)

Mercury VesselView Mobile, it pulls data from the motor and allows you to access it from an app on your smartphone. I made a video of the new one i ordered.

Vessel View is only compatible with Mercury 40 hp and up

That used to be true with the previous year models but Mercury has made it available in the 25hp and 30hp size.
