In It’s a Wonderful World, you are an expanding Empire and must choose your path to your future. You must develop faster and better than your competitors. You’ll carefully plan your expansion to develop your production power and rule over this new world.
It’s a Wonderful World is a cards drafting and engine building game from 1 to 5 players. Each round, players will draft 7 cards and then choose which ones will be recycled to immediately acquire Resources, and which ones will be kept for construction to produce Resources each round and/or gain victory points.
When a card is fully built, it’s added to the player’s Empire to increase the player’s production capacity for each round. The mechanical twist being that the production phase works in a specific order. You'll have to plan your constructions carefully!

5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
    2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
    1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

This game is one of the most satisfying engine builders. Started playing the solo campaigns in both rulebooks, and have found that the theme shows itself. Received the War or Peace expansion a week ago. And finished that already. We love this game. I think it doesn't get enough recognition. This game should be at The World series of boardgaming. Four rounds. Very high on my list.

I actually played this today for the first time, along with the expansion. I enjoyed it and would absolutely play it again. I do like that there will be very different strategies each time you play. Played it with seven players and it still was not more than an hour and thirty minutes, and 5 of us were learning the game. I agree with your review, even after one play. I still think I will still prefer 7 Wonders if I had to only pick one.

I recommend playing and adding the cards from the "War or Peace" expansion. They provide Krystallium and token-producing cards that help with alleviating the last-turn luck you mention.

I need to play more 7 wonders, for some reason I really like IAWW and I understand the complaints too. Cube conversion for some reason just feels really good and might be with I like Vindication so much.

My advice: play 7 Wonders at the three player count and play against the same opponents.

I really enjoy Wonderful World a lot every time it hits the table. So satisfying if you can get some big point cards completed and drafting to get the engine built vs denying others has great tension.

This one's top 10 in my collection. I got the Heritage edition which reminds me I need to go thru and try all that extra content.

One of our favourite games of all time. My game group has played through all three Campaigns at their max player count of 5, as well as several games with everything unlocked - we are also looking forward to going back to them and unlocking the other story paths and rewards.
The game technically goes to 7 players with the expansions. I strongly disagree with your assessment of player count - it literally has the exact same play time at all player counts, it’s a simultaneous play game - very few games scale this seamlessly. The only factor affecting play time would be if you are teaching someone, since it’s difficult to hand-hold when playing simultaneous… they just have to accept that they will lose their first game, but once you finish that first game it all makes sense and they will compete in the next once they see how it goes. It’s almost easier to teach by allowing someone to stumble through, then give them a detailed debrief explaining what works and what doesn’t to inform future strategy. Very tactical game, mind you.

Easily my favourite solo game, it's actually the only game I prefer solo to multiplayer. I've got the retail and recently picked up the ks version and played through that entire campaign and now I can't decide which version to keep. The ks box is gigantic and just about impossible to find, but at the same time Im not sure I like the huge amount of stuff that's been unlocked as it changes the game quite a bit

I'm pretty sure the expansion also ups the player count from 5 players to 7 players.

For all the negatives that you mentioned, I am going with Its a Wonderful Kingdom. I lile your arguments although I disagree occasionally. Take care Alex!

I've played this game at least half a dozen times in the last few months and have never, ever looked at the title or art on any of the cards. I think I prefer this over 7 Wonders, possibly because 7W Duel is SO GOOD I have little interest in returning to the original.

I love drafting games. And this one is a dull, boring and uninspired engine builder with a negative fun factor. I felt like I didn't make a single interesting decision throughout the entire game, it's all about tedious cube manipulation. Do yourself a favour and pick ANY other drafting/engine building game from the BGG's top 200. Why does this game get so much love from the community? What am I missing? ;)
