Those coins! Love them & definitely need to figure out where you got them.
Also, do you have base game and expansions (so far) in the same box? If so, any video on custom insert or your storage solution?
Seven wonders is a modern classic, and if someone brings it out at my board game club, I will happily play it. But I find that for the itch that this game scratches, I prefer it's a wonderful world, and that's the game I have in my collection.
One of my FAVORITE GAMES! I did not get the new edition. Already had everything, but Babylon, all in one box with insert and felt no desire to repurchase since I had all the bonus boards and cards etc. Scales so well and is just a fun game. I prefer it now always with at least Leaders and any expansion content. Fun game.
Have you played Hadara, and if so, how do you compare 7 Wonders to that? (Obviously it hasn't been in your collection for 10 years so I guess that says something, but still, any thoughts?)
100% agree with you! I like it more than Duel.
Still sitting on my first edition copy of 7 Wonders with everything through Babel, except for Leaders. I bought the Broken Token insert too. Trying to decide if it's worth the update. Outside of the new expansions, is the Second Edition worth the expense to upgrade?
Hi, maybe later for this, but no, it is not worth it unless you play it super intense. I got the second edition for my brother and its the same. I recommend to get the Leaders Expansion better, it adds more strategy to the game.
Anyone who is dismissive of 7 Wonders is immediately suspect in my mind. My only caveat is that I very much prefer the game at 3 players.
@@TheLuminousCleric I don’t know. The reason I prefer it at three player is because your neighbors are your only opponents and therefore it produces an effect where you have way more of an ability to pay attention to cards and how they are being drafted more closely. The more cards, the more players and the more hands are being passed around and you can’t rely on your memory as to which hand is where and who is likely to take what and therefore the game can feel more “random” at higher player counts.
It was one of my first games that I played and bought afterwards.
I really like the theme of building my civilization.
It's pretty easy to explain to new players and the fact it can be played even with group of 8 without much of a downtime is great
Worth mentioning it's also available on BGA and plays take about 10 mins
7 winders is good game. very interesting.
I've managed to collect all of 1st edition minus a couple of promo cards (Base game, Leaders, Cities, Babel, Armada, Anniversary packs, wonder pack). Althought its 1st edition, it's still a wild amount of fun. Leaders seems to be the expansion for me that really took it to the next level. A fun engaging game that typically doesn't go longer than 20 mins. I'm happy to see you still have it. It gets a bit of hate, but that's just because it reached its peak years ago.
I used to love 7 Wonders, but now its lack in variability for me, so im looking forward for video about expansions
@@BoardGameCo i have mixed feelings about them especially cities, because they add quite big amount of unknown and luck to the game which one of main pros is strategy based on knowledge of all cards.
That is also a problem for me in armad (green track).
Maby in future with more plays i will change my mind but its quite hard for me to imagine.
Non the less, im very interested about your "more in deepth" opinion
Asmodee has a lot of money..
I wonder how. I have tried it once with 5 players and thought it was pretty bland. Not enough game in it to last me years.
The problem i've found is that there is a lack of good 5 player board games. What are your go to 5 player games?
@@laneledge Party games. Or Scythe. Also I recently got a copy of Kemet. Really want to try it.
@@TheLuminousCleric That’s interesting about Scythe, I feel like that game is too slow at 5. Are you happy with how long it takes?
@@laneledge Maybe with new players it slows down, but with experienced players it moves quickly. My sweet spot is 4 though.
Contrary to popular opinion I think the game is best at 3 players. If you play a lot with other experienced players the drafting gets REALLY intense.
I actually prefer Duel. Think there's more mechanics in there at the base level and becomes a brilliant and varied game when you add the expansions. Our favourite 2 player game by a mile.
