I recently ordered a lithium battery for my little Minn Kota Endura trolling motor. Looking forward to testing it out when it warms up. From what I can tell so far, seems like the below freezing temps can impact charging of the lithium batteries. Hoping it doesn’t impact use because I sometimes fish when it’s in the upper 20’s. As for the motors, I have owned a few different Minn Kota over the years on a Jon Boat and a bass boat. They make great motors, for sure.
When people ask if I golf I answer, yes in the mid 70’s, anything warmer or colder than that is too uncomfortable. Now that I’m getting older I should add fishing to that. ;)
Looking at this motor with installed Side Imaging. Anyone have this? I was looking at the Ultrex Quest with a separate transducer for side imaging. Seems like this is a better deal. Any thoughts? I fish mainly for musky.
I love the new Quest motors. I went with the Ulterra as I needed auto stow and deploy. The reason I have the Mega si built in transducer is at the time they had no Quest Ulterras with the dual spectrum CHIRP in stock...and they still don't. I did not think I would even use the built in transducer....but that has changed. I love the fact that I now have si on front of the boat. Which ever model you get I suggest it to be a Quest version. They are far more robust. My nephew just put on a new Ulterra...non Quest....hit a stump drifting a trout river and the motor literally shattered. That would not have happened to a Quest version.
Thanks for the quick reply. So in regard to the Mega SI, is the built in SI better than a external transducer for Mega SI? Trying to aleviate the extra clutter. I am defiantly getting the quest model. I just recently purchased a Ultra Quest with a external transducer for Mega SI, and was on the virge of having it installed, in till I saw videos on this! Thanks again for any info!!@@troutmagnetman
