FYI, the police car that was parked in the parent and child bay was attending an emergency call. The bay was right outside the main door. The police can park wherever they like if attending a call as road traffic laws dont apply to them whilst attending 999 calls, or actively pursuing a vehicle, and they really have the time (nor inclination) to find a suitable spot.

Also it’s not illegal to park in a parent and child space without a child -they are complementary spaces. Unlike disabled bays.
