That is insane! I agree with the previous comments. It is not a difficult XCO course but an extremely difficult. Why oh why shall XCO go into this direction?? Do not we have enduro, dh, tral races??? In this dry condition still very dangerous, so when it rains nothing will help to survive. The rocky part is risking life even. I can not imagine who and why approved this garbage called race track...
@@keatonverswi okay true, more than basic skills. But I would say that the professionals racing a world cup should all have the ability to ride this, if not, they are in the wrong program in my opinion 😅
@@BikingNL000 yeah and most of them do have the ability. The problem is some of the juniors are having trouble with this course. I do like that you need to be able to descend well in Xc but I also think they should be cautious because even if you can descend you aren’t completely able to descend at your best level because of how hard you have been pushing.

This track is too much. It's not xc , ITS ENDURO OR DOWNHILL in places. Wet and its dangerous, anyone tired who makes a mistake could be seriously injured. Taking some risks on this track before the olympics could see some olympians missing Paris games.
@@_ben_sweetthat's why mountain biking has different disciplines. I'm all for more technical XC with climbs, descents, roots, rocks, drops, etc., but this is too much. For this you should have a burly bike, full face helmet, and pads, which makes it not xc.
The devil is in the detail. You would never see these vertical logs on a downhill track because its stupid when it rains. And neither would that man made rock chute with a centerline divider made of sharp rocks be a part of a DH track because its stupid dangerous no matter, especially with minimal protection. The general problem XC seems to have, is these man made sections because they almost always suck for one reason or another. Its as if they cant find proper technical trails for XC, when they could look at Enduro World Cup tracks for better ideas. Granted, the problem with natural trails is, you cant usually make them into loops and therefore broadcast compatible, but the two aforementioned sections are just silly, no matter what discipline. I expect some nasty injuries if it rains...

Maybe it will give the xc riders a bit more respect for enduro and downhill. That being said, I think Discovery/UCI should keep xc as xc and not try to make xc into enduro
I disagree I think Xc racers have mad respect for enduro and downhill racers. I will also say Xc is supposed to be hard up and hard down. I can guarantee you the best Xc racers could race downhill.
Rain could make a couple sections very interesting!
That rock section may be a bit much, in terms of if you do get it wrong, you could seriously mess yourself up. Lycra aint gonna help!!!!

its XC, not gravel racing. It's really not that difficult with some basic bike skills. Its world cup after all..
