Just thought I'd add this tip, because I found it so so helpful, early game, hope you don't mind. But when you take the time to forage that first night when the clock stops, don't just work the town, go all over the whole map. It takes a lot of time but I managed to gather enough berries of both types, chestnuts, fiddlehead ferns, seaweed of both types, to sell the next day and made almost $3k. But one important thing is to start at one end of all beach areas and go down the whole thing. Equip your bucket and you can click lmb to squat and gather, which will give you sand every time, but also a ton of recycleable plastic and metal scraps. Before you go back to your plot to end your day, stop at the recycling machines on the side of the Tech Hero building and drop all the plastic in one and all the metal in the other. It doesn't cost anything and it will be ready the next morning. The plastic turns into the plastic pellets, which keeps you from having to buy them, even though they're only 10¢ each, my perusal of the beaches that first night gave me enough plastic to probably make it through the whole game. And the metal scraps turn into iron, so it puts you way ahead on the iron needs for that first axe and stuff. The mushrooms and berries respawn about once a week, so I will just take a day once a week to make another quick run, not as thorough as the first night because that took a really long time lol. But the berries and mushrooms and chestnuts and ferns and seaweed are a good money maker to help carry you through. I love this game but I'm stuck at the battle. I don't understand the whole card thing and the system to do battle. So I'm going back to finish your video now to see if there's anything in there on the battle. I just wanted to post this comment to help anyone else who may be interested. Also watch your clock! Every once in awhile it will freeze up again late at night like 9-11 pm'ish. If it freezes, take advantage and do another forage run! I've not had to struggle for anything getting started! ETA: I should have watched the whole video before commenting lol. You covered the beach aspect later on. And you covered combat! I love the way you present your video and information! How have I not ran across your channel before?? I'm still iffy on combat. I've never played any turn-based or card type combat systems! It was almost enough for me to not buy this game after waiting on it for almost 3 years! But I decided to go ahead and take a chance. If you were to do a more in depth video on the combat I feel I could really grasp it from your instruction. I hate no commentary videos, and I don't care for Livestream unless I'm using it to fall asleep 😂. But I'm forever changing games and looking for new UA-cam content creators to get info from. A lot of the young people talk way to fast for me and I can't keep up. So finding people I enjoy listening to and learning from has been a battle in itself! But after watching just this one video I've decided to subscribe! Thank you for this!!

32:10 TIP: No need to go through the middle of small plots. Pipes need to go through the middle of Large plots, but can run between two small plots. Think of Large plot as a 2x2 (when switching on the grid) and as long as it runs the same way through the middle when using 4 small plots in 2x2 layout (or 2 small plots in a 1x2 layout) it will work.
I'm near 100 hours in this g-dang game and I have never gotten the vehicles to work properly. For the longest time I thought it was a glitch that they were simply not faster than running but now I think it might actually be my operating system since I keep finding a lot of youtubers who don't have problems with them. I have all 3 vehicles and I have done timed "races" and even when at their top speed according to the speedometer overlay, it takes more in-game minutes for me to run the same distance even before the running speed upgrades. So... that's just been the life I have been leading. Now with the full running speed upgrade from the skilltree and adjusting the daylength in the options its quite livable, but I gotta admit going to the mechanic is a pain and I *rarely* ever go to the University because it is so dang far. I think buying and operating a farm on any other plot of land will not be viable for me with this setup because all the other farm land is even *further* away, but tbh the kind of gamer I am I don't really want multiple huge farms. I've been playing since day 1 and last played yesterday on the latest patch and the vehicles are still like this for me, so I don't think its the game's fault anymore.
@@crystaderington the 1 of 4 laptops on the to do list has to do with expansion farms located across the map. In year 2 you'll be sent a text from the town hall about buying more farms, each farm has a garden shed and workbench like your starter farm has. To complete the workbench and global cache access you'll need a laptop for each of the 3 extra farms. If you're still early on in the game don't worry about getting that one done. It will just sit in the to do list but it's not a quest requisite that you must finish or anything.
@@fishy977 nasturtium flower seeds can be bought in the SunnySeed app during Spring and Summer. Once you've harvested the flowers from the plant, you'll need to get a simple drying rack from mechanic Kyle, the final product will be the narsturtium tea leaves.
I have yet to find one as well. The devs have confirmed they're in the game though. My guess is that they could be either locked behind cave progression or they could potentially be found in the caches. I'm almost done with the second level, if I can find a dorei I'll update with another comment and put out a more detailed video on combat.

Visiting the caves for the first time you'll get an extended cutscene introducing the robot, it ends with him shutting down and your character dropping it off at Hiro's tech shop. It takes 3 in game days for it to be repaired, you'll get a text from Hiro to come pick it up. Once you have Sparky go back to the caves and enter the level which has been unlocked at the very back of the cave entrance. You'll get another cutscene and the next step is to visit Kaida at the shrine. She'll explain the battle mechanic through this along with unlocking the shrine's skill tree.
It's sad that they didn't give us an option for marriage and kids. I understand not everyone wants those things but it would be nice to be given as a choice for people who want that.
Perhaps it's just my experience running businesses, but I'm guessing that decision was likely a time and funding limitation. I can understand that translation services probably were a small fortune for what's already in the game. In an ideal world we would have every option possible available to us that could be programmed into a game. All we can do is support the game and see what continued development they're able to do.
