    Listening to a whole boat talk shit and say I wasn’t gonna land my bluefin and getting to see their faces when it hit the deck priceless. Tipped out at 105lbs I love that reel. Mind you most of them had actual tuna gear not a jig stick, and lost several.

    Why did you stop using the Lexa for the Saltis/Tranxx? Wouldn’t the Lexa be more suited for YT irons? Looking at getting a Lexa for my next Iron stick but saw you went to the Tranx then to the Saltis. Saltis seems like a step back from the Lexa for irons to me

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  2 місяці тому +1

      The lexa 400, is what I got to learn how to cast open faced conventional reels.
      The more comfortable I got with casting and them more familiar I got with the proper cadence on swimming a jig, the more I understood that a bigger spool and open face reel is more ideal for how I fish.
      If you were to speak specs wise as in cast control and drag pressure, in theory yes the saltist would be a step back, however a saltist casts incredibly smooth compared to a lot of open face reels I’ve used!
      If I were to fish a baitcasters for surface irons now, it would definitely be the Tranx 500 or the new Lexa 500, for the size of the spool and also so that I could spool up a lot of mono for easier casting and more stretch to absorb head shakes

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  3 роки тому

      Full day trip. Almost all Coronado islands trips are full day trips.
      And during the off season, it all depends on the fisherman. Some people do a lot of trout fishing during the winter, some switch over to freshwater bass, some like deep saltwater bass fishing.

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  7 років тому +2

      ooBoFaDeeZoo I think it depends on the size Komoda you have. I have the extra heavy 8'6 for my lexa 400. When it comes to a casting rod and game fishing, I couldn't be happier. It's a nice stiff rod, which I like for extra leverage when fighting a bigger fish. Yeah I agree. Lol not a fan of my old videos back when I didn’t know what I was doing.
      But if you enjoy surface iron videos, check out some of my recent cedros videos! Some of the most wide open surface iron fishing I’ve ever seen! 15-25 fish days and all 15-25 lbers

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  6 років тому

      Brian Villasenor I think I have 40lb braid. And I do a 50-70 yard top shot of 40lb mono

      Brian Villasenor yes that’s exactly how I have my lexa Winn set up

    How about a video without this music this is why the content is so terrible

      kameron steel yeah this was filmed when all I had was a water proof case so it was either music or absolute silence. Haven’t had a video with music all the way through it in over a year now. Thanks for looking out though
