  • Are you feeling drained, stressed, or even miserable in your job? You’re not alone, and you don't have to hate your job. In this video, I share my journey of quitting a stable job to pursue a more fulfilling life. I noticed how many people are stuck in jobs they hate, leading to declining health, strained relationships, and a lack of energy. This realization motivated me to make this video for anyone who feels the same.
From understanding the amount of time we spend at work to exploring the factors that contribute to job satisfaction, I talk about the importance of a healthy work environment. We'll talk about key aspects like workload, control, rewards, community, fairness, and aligning personal values with your work. Plus, I'll touch on the dangers of cynicism and the abstraction from real work, which can lead to a sense of emptiness.
If you’re experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, or even depression due to your job, this video will help you recognize the signals your body is sending and encourage you to take action. Whether it’s making small changes or taking steps like I did, the goal is to improve your overall well-being and happiness.

You had me at the intro. I thought, oh no, too dramatic! 😅 The 2 points that stood out to me most were the abstraction of real work and cynicism. Both I've experienced at some point in my career.
For the abstraction of real work, I've seen this play out when developers (in my case) are too far removed from the actual end user. I've worked at companies where the last place you push code to was to some staging environment and then nothing... That's why I like the concept that some companies follow where they let developers do end-user interactions and support. You build it, you support it. It gives a sense of ownership and real impact.
For the cynicism part. At one point in my career, I found myself becoming more cynical and it snowballs quickly until it becomes your default state. I figured out that it was because I allowed other negative colleagues' feelings into my mind and letting those thoughts take root. That is a big reason I believe companies should deal with bad actors from within as quickly as possible. Something about a bad apple and rotting the bunch.
    Keep making great content.

Thank you for adding those real world examples. Awareness is key and your examples will definitely help to recognise such situations.
