Honestly, this sounds like Shaiman and Wittman were writing a new Act 1 finale called "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", but panicked and added parts of "It Must Be Believed to Be Seen" back in
I read in TV Tropes trivia that, in developing the West End version, Shaiman and Wittman had written another ACT 1 finale song that almost replaced "It Must Be Believed to Be Seen", so maybe that's why.
@@gameaction1269 i dunno, if it were song by someone with Douglas Hodge's range or maybe even that guy who did the final run of the original west end run it'd be better, but i dont actually have too much of a problem with this version

1:05 Flying hat. Flying cane. I am reminded of the leading player in Pippin
Wonka: "For this top-hat vested, velvet coated, gloved one..."
Also Wonka: spends the entire second act bare-handed
Why did they do this man
Will there ever be lyrics uploaded?
I can post that if you want but there’s an old video of audio where someone commented the lyrics
i love gareth snook, but they really ruined this song
Personally I love both, both song bring out both the mystery and whimsical sides of Wonka. Alot of shows do change over the years.
honestly every rewrite seems to make wonka darker for some reason
And make the show worse @@magicamadeye

Ummm…oh, gosh!…this is terrible. I HATE it. Why did they do Wonka like that?! Why? I’m so sorry. I’m not a fan of this version at all.
