Bro killing him was so unnecessary like at least in the original they couldn’t help him and in a differnt version of the musical he was actually in the pipe and they couldn’t stop him (well they could have tried harder than to just sing about how they are gonna turn him into fudge) but in this one they litterly have him in a tube right there they could have just let him go but for some messed up resson they took him into the boiler room and kill him and turn him into frudge

I came up with this idea of Wonka making the Oompa-Loompas out of candy, since he was able to make a living chocolate bird. Although, as you can imagine, I came with it after reading that version of the book where the Oompa-Loompas were pygmies and Charlie asks Wonka if he made them out of chocolate. Yeah...

I love how Gareth is not just interacting with the other actors whenever he talks, but engages with the audience as well <3

a lot of people arent fans of the oompa loompas being robots but i adore it. I always thought it would make a lot more sense if they werent an entire indigenous species thag mr wonka enslaved and paid in cocoa beans. this feels a lot more ethical. And the way they move adds so much extra eeriness to them. In this song especially, they force veruca and her dad into the chute, meaning mr wonka ordered them to literally murder them. if they were living beings, it could be blamed on the oompa loompas, but these are robots controlled by mr wonka, meaning all the deaths are directly because of him and that adds so much depth and hidden darkness to his character.
